Trauma Informed Foster Parenting

I learned so much about being a foster parent from my friend Peter a few years ago, I was thrilled to get another perspective on this incredibly important role in society from my friend Laura! Laura is a foster parent who focuses primarily on trauma informed parenting. She taught me so much about how traditional discipline does not always work when it comes to children who have been traumatized by previous horrors, and understanding how to better care for these kids is SO important to their wellbeing. When we are all a little more informed, we can all contribute to a society better equipped to help children in need. Thank you to all of the amazing foster parents out there, Laura and Peter included, who take the biggest first steps in assisting these kids! The REAL Reason You Can't Get Rid of Your Stuff

Why is it so hard to get rid of things we don't even use? Professional organizer and dClutterfly founder Tracy McCubbin joins me to talk about the psychology behind clutter — and why our attachment to our belongings often has very little to do with the objects themselves. Tracy grew up as the daughter of a hoarder before eventually building a career helping people understand their relationships with their possessions. We talk about the difference between clutter and hoarding, ADHD and organization, sentimental belongings, inherited possessions, shopping for your "fantasy self," consumerism, and why buying more storage containers probably isn't going to solve the problem. And after this conversation, you may look at that box you've been keeping "just in case" a little differently. What's something you've been holding onto for years even though you know you probably don't need it? I Took my Ex Husband to Court

This is Part 4 (and hopefully the LAST part) of my "Why I got Divorced" saga. Part 3 ended with both my ex and I hiring our own attorneys. This (hopefully final) part will encompass how that plays out in mediation and in court. As a reminder, this video discusses my personal experience with repeated boundary violations, trust issues, and how those situations affected me emotionally and contributed to my decision to divorce. This is shared to raise awareness and help others, not to harass or accuse anyone. I am simply sharing my story in hopes it could be a therapeutic outlet for me, and assist others who find themselves in similar situation. A Cat Swallowed WHAT?! | A Vet Explains Her Craziest Cases

Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE animals, especially my two cats! Where better to find a fellow animal lover than a veterinarian. Dr. Tannetje Crocker was kind enough to hang out with me and teach me so much about our favorite furry friends. Her expertise has significantly helped me with my own pet's upcoming medical procedures, and I hope you can learn something from her as well! My EX INSISTS He DIDN'T Break Into My House 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

This is Part 3 of my "Why I got Divorced" saga. Part 2 ended with me being out of town on a work trip, with the kid who was feeding my cats letting me know that when he came to my house my ex-husband was already inside my home taking things out of it without my knowledge or permission. This Part 3 will pick up where we left off, and go until March, when we both obtain legal representation. As a reminder, this video discusses my personal experience with repeated boundary violations, trust issues, and how those situations affected me emotionally and contributed to my decision to divorce. This is shared to raise awareness and help others, not to harass or accuse anyone. Is HR Actually Protecting Employees… Or The Company?

HR feels like a mysterious entity that looms over the workplace... It is a friend, or a foe? That is something a LOT of people debate about, and Bri has graciously joined me to talk about her answer! She has seen some companies make INSANE and INAPPROPRIATE decisions at work... but she has also seen some crazy employees that... needed to go. I hope you enjoy these stories! I Couldn’t Trust My Husband Anymore🥲

This is Part 2 of my "Why I got Divorced" saga.Part 1 ended with me being at home alone on my 5th year wedding anniversary with my ex telling our friends that I was out of town with "other men", and a random woman texting me that she was having an inappropriate relationship with my husband. This Part 2 will pick up where we left off, and go until the following November. I really wanted Part 2 to encompass all of the separation until real lawyers got involved the following March, but so many things happened... there was no way to fit it all. That is why I decided to end this part with the most egregious example of disrespect and boundary crossing that I have ever experienced in my entire relationship. As a reminder, this video discusses my personal experience with repeated boundary violations, trust issues, and how those situations affected me emotionally and contributed to my decision to divorce. I am not claiming infidelity occurred, as I did not have genuine proof of cheating. This is shared to raise awareness and help others, not to harass or accuse anyone. The Biggest Myths about Autism (And WHY they are HARMFUL)

"Autism" is a word that can scare parents, simply because they do not really understand what it means. Neurodivergence in children is WAY more common than many people realize, and there is nothing wrong with that. I sat with Andi Putt who is a Autistic Spech Language Pathologist and discussed some of the misconceptions about autism that might give parents a little more piece of mind, comfort, and understanding surrounding their child's condition.
