Wellness Series Pt. 4 - WellWay Director of Health Services Lauren Schultheis on Integrative Nutrition

Lauren Schultheis of WellWay in Plymouth MN joins us today to discuss integrative nutrition. She gives us tips on health and wellness from a holistic point of view - reminding us how our entire body is connected and her approach to helping clients involves taking a look at the entire body as one system rather than treating the body as separate systems. Lauren is a Registered Dietitian and the director of health services at her clinic and company called WellWay - a wellness center in Plymouth, Minnesota. We discuss how her career came together, starting at Lifetime Fitness, then eventually transitioning to opening her own business with her husband and business partners and how they have expanded this to multiple different states with over 200 employees. I loved our conversation today because she gives really practical tips on how to be confident in the workplace, brave and bold as an entrepreneur, and balancing all of this while being a mom. Listen in to hear how her own health journey really shaped the future of her career path. This episode is great for women who are navigating the career world and want to find ways to weave in their passion for health as well. Check out WellWay online using the below resources and contact them for a FREE first intake session! PS - Florida friends - they have multiple locations in Florida too!! https://wellway.com/https://www.instagram.com/wellway.health/

Wellness Series Pt. 3: Registered Dietitian and Integrative Health Coach - Kylie Churnetski

After overcoming chronic and autoimmune disease issues, Kylie found a way to heal holistically. After the experiences she had in the traditional Western Medicine journey, Kylie sought out finding a holistic approach to wellness and health that was catered especially to her. This motivated her to go to college to get her degree as a Registered Dietitian and Integrative Health Coach and now is working with women to heal themselves naturally. She finds her work rewarding where she can pay it forward with the help she offers to women. Since she went through a rough health journey herself, she can relate to women on a much deeper level. Today we talk about how she got this career and also what she can offer to her clients. Kylie coverers great topics that we can all walk away with to improve our health. Reach out to Kylie using the link below: https://pwhrfl.com/about-coach-kylie/

Wellness Series Pt. 2: Acupuncturist Shannon Evans of Sundays Acupuncture

Shannon Evans is a licensed Acupuncturist and owner of Sundays Acupuncture in Kirkland, Washington. I connected with her initially on TikTok because she shares so much valuable content on her TikTok page regarding holistic health tips. Personally, I love acupuncture  to help with acute issues and with understanding more about the connection throughout our entire body. Each system and each part of our body is connected together and acupuncture is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is something I love learning about because it almost helps give me a definition of what is connected to the ailment I am experiencing. I love this quote defining Acupuncture: "Acupuncture helps nudge your body and mind over time to calm the overactive sympathetic nervous system—promoting the body’s innate healing."Today we talk about fasting for women and cold plunging, the vibration and energy of food, how to cycle synch.Other topics:FeversBirth ControlMasculine vs FeminineWorking Matrix for Corporate PositionsDifferences between MD and AcupuncturistThe Body Keeps the ScoreReasons to go to Acupuncture:Pain or Chronic Pain alternatives to pharmaceuticalsHormone BalancingDigestionAnxiety and DepressionAsthma and AllergiesMore! Shannon and I really agree on the fact that any issues that we have may be "common" but are not normal. And often times when we bring these things to a doctor, we get written off because it is nothing they can define, but Acupuncture can address the reasoning behind these things (say imbalance or blurriness) and eventually get to the root of it. Shannon loves working on the connection of psycho-spiritual work and how that manifests in the body. Find Shannon on TikTok @ ShannonPeggy Her website: https://www.sundaysacupuncture.com/

Wellness Series Pt. 1: Naturopathic Doctor, Dr. Cassie Wilder of Minneapolis Integrative Medicine Center

Today we have Dr. Cassie Wilder with us - the owner of Minneapolis Integrative Medicine Center & a Naturopathic Doctor of Medicine! We are kicking off my health series where I am interviewing women in the health care space - but more so in the wellness and Eastern Medicine space. If you know me, you know that I am a mostly crunchy gal who seeks holistic health options in every way. I have deliberately found ways to be healthy using a more Eastern Medicine approach vs. an Allopathic Medicine approach and it has worked very well for me. That does not mean I don't respect  Western Medicine methods, I just think there are more holistic routes available. Dr. Cassie Wilder offers Naturopathic Medicine at her clinic in the Western Twin Cities area of MN. She focuses on finding the ROOT CAUSE instead of just putting a band-aid on one issue. I loved this discussion because she shares what her clinic offers, how she chose this route of medicine, and why this can be a great career for women. She also shares with us some "Crunchy" things we should be considering in our lifestyle. "Her passion is empowering her patients through education, understanding, and support through their healing journey." This truly comes thru in this episode. If you are in the Twin Cities area, check out her new space in Wayzata for possible the MOST aesthetically pleasing doctor's visit you have ever had! Some services she offers (not all of them listed below): Infusion TherapyIn-Depth Medical AssessmentsTo get a 360° view of your healthSpecialty Laboratory TestingNutrient InfusionsIntegrative Medicine Treatment Plans1:1 Health Coaching SessionsOnline Access to Labs and Medical RecordsReferrals to Specialists if Necessary Common symptoms that could bring you to Dr. Cassie's office: IBSEczemaBloatingFertility IssuesDebilitating PeriodsHigh Blood PressureBrain FogFatigueAnxietyHair Lossand more! Check out Minneapolis Integrative Medicine Center here:https://mplsimc.com/

Design Series Pt. 2: Digital Print Owner of GS PRINT SHOP- Gigi Saca

Welcome to episode 2 of the Design Series! Today we have Gigi Saca with us who is the owner of GS Print Shoppe which is a digital print shop with the cutest bright colored design products. Products range from posters to put on the wall, apparel, and stationary. I've always been intimidated to purchase art for my house because what if I don't like it in 3 months and it's so expensive? Then I end up with nothing on my walls for the entirety of a lease! That's where GS Print Shoppe comes in. Her prints are affordable and easy to access, allowing for you to switch out prints as the seasons change, or add on more to make a full gallery wall! If you have a bachelorette party coming up soon, GS Print Shoppe can provide the graphic design for a custom theme! I loved talking to Gigi because she shared with us her purpose behind her passion - she has suffered from endometriosis which she wants to eventually have all portions of the proceeds go to endometriosis foundations. We discuss the importance of having a hobby outside of work simply for yourself. Check out Gigi on TikTok to learn more about her products and about fun topics (seriously shes my pop culture queenie) & purchase directly from her website: https://www.instagram.com/gsprintshoppe/https://gsprintshoppe.com/

Creative Series Pt. 1: Social Media Manager Kelsey Santana of KJS Socials

Welcome to episode 1 of the Creatives Series! I will be interviewing 3 Working Girlies who have created their own businesses in the creative space! Today we have Kelsey Santana joining us who owns KJS Socials - a social media management company that has the most beautiful aesthetic. Kelsey has a lot of wedding industry clients - which was an industry she pursued because of her personal experience and interest in planning a wedding! The wedding vendors she mainly works with are photographers, mobile bars, locations etc - she herself searched for wedding vendors on Instagram and realized that was a great niche for her to go for. She offers content management and full social media management for her clients. "It is nice to give different bundles and packages for customers." Kelsey shares advice for women wanting to pursue this career and ways to believe in yourself - because something about Social Media Management is that not everyone likes social media nor are they interested in handling this for their business. You would be surprised how many businesses would prefer to have someone else manage that side of the business - giving way for a large space for social media managers to provide value. She has great advice for women wanting to start their own business including sharing her business tip which is to use BumbleBiz to network and grow your clients! Listen in to today's episode with Kelsey and check out her page here: https://www.instagram.com/kjs.socials/

Former Teacher turned Corporate Technical Writer - Cady Jackson

As a former teacher, Cady Jackson has a great perspective on what it is like to leave the classroom to work for corporate. Hint: she LOVES it! Today we discuss the realities of being a teacher in a classroom looks like, from a very limited time off schedule, the constant hustle and never ending work, to the low pay that the teachers receive. Cady fell into this role as a technical writer by chance, but has learned that this is a phenomenal career for women. Before this episode, I couldn't have told you what a technical writer does, but Cady explained it very well and offers insight on the career path, the traits that make a great writer, and the benefits of working for corporate vs. for education. This career is very much content based, but often falls in the Marketing department for companies. She likes that she works with many different departments within the company to produce her content and likes the timeline that these projects come with by nature. If you are a great writer, or want to get out of the teaching world, listen to today's episode and reach out to Cady to learn more on this topic! --------------------------------- Today's episode is sponsored by Superhuman App - get 2 weeks for free using the below link:https://www.superhuman.app/Activations are a new groundbreaking type of audio that are a mix between a motivational podcast, cinematic music and guided visualization. If you’ve tried meditation and haven’t been able to stick to it as a habit, activations are for you.
