Kay was enamored with her grandmother's charm bracelet, adorned with small treasures each holding special significance that embodied the stories of her life. Today, Kay wears her grandmother's charm bracelet as a connection to the past and a reminder of the future of charms. Every bowl at Empty Bowls is handmade by a local potter, then donated so it can be sold for a cause. Kay McDonald talks with Mara Pernick, Executive Director of Waste Not. The Maricopa County nonprofit has spent nearly 40 years rescuing safe, surplus food and getting it to more than 65 agencies that feed people in need. Mara covers where the food comes from, how a five-driver logistics team moves it every day, and what's planned for this year's Empty Bowls.
