We Got Your 6@6 with THE PEOPLE'S PATRIOT PROJECT

Episode 311 of We Got Your 6@6 featured two incredible guests from Freedom Sings USA—founder Don Goodman and Macey Reagan—who shared how the power of storytelling and music can bring healing, hope, and recognition to those who have served. Don Started Freedom Sings USA Mission is that nobody should be an unsung hero, everyone should be able to tell their story and be heard.  He loves loves writing songs!  And this falls into his life as an opportunity to say thank you and do anything he can to help these veterans.  They would like to reach those that can’t be reached - they will reach back! Macey Not a musician or a veteran, but appreciates the heck out of both! Her father was a marine, and she has always wanted to be supportive. Freedom Sings has a lot coming up …  Whole goal is to reach as many people as they can … in the country and out of the country Sharing of the stories first-hand is the most moving, you have to experience it Music:  Jack Blaise / Jack Blaise Music  -   www.jackblaisemusic.com    Jack comes in under many of the WeP3 areas - veteran, musician, firefighter!   He got into music hard after leaving the Fire dept Jack does not like to put his genre into a corner, he likes his listeners to take what they get out of it Jack agrees that there is not way to anticipate what comes with the job … ‘you knew what you signed up for’ just does not fit He is going to be working on improving what he is working on and then get going on some new things - including the stories in the songs like tonight Song #1:  I Bow My Head - a little ditty about how you are judged for bowing your head or not looking someone in the eye, but the reality is that you are hiding your tears. Song #2:  Roses - the reality of suicide. This is a tough song, but it looks in the face of a day in the life … and how a great day can be THAT day. You cannot predict the day, and you cannot prepare.  The actual blood and guts (mental health and stigma) is not being looked into and the feelings are not supported.  Song #3:    Old Lovers Waltz - its a love song that goes out to all the women who stand by all the crazy people who come home broken. Special Music by Hunter Girl of Freedom Sings USA…  Second Hand PTSD

We Got Your 6@6 with THE PEOPLE'S PATRIOT PROJECT

In Episode 310 of We Got Your 6@6, we welcomed Sean and Aiden Dillard to share the inspiring story behind Oarsome Odyssey—a mission fueled by adventure, healing, and a commitment to ending veteran suicide. Sean, an Army veteran with multiple deployments, has always had a passion for rowing. After an injury threatened to end that passion, he made a life-changing decision: rather than let the setback define him, he would pursue an even greater challenge—rowing across the ocean. Before taking on that monumental goal, Sean and Aiden are preparing by tackling The Great Loop, a roughly 6,000-mile inland water route around the eastern United States. This journey will provide invaluable experience while serving as a safer stepping stone toward the eventual ocean crossing. What makes Oarsome Odyssey truly unique is its mission. During The Great Loop, two veterans will join Sean and Aiden to row each week, creating opportunities for fellowship, purpose, and healing. Sean understands firsthand the darkness that many veterans face. He openly shared his own struggles, describing a time when he had reached "the bottom of the well—and the bottle" and felt like he no longer had a purpose. Instead of giving up, he found new direction through rowing and now hopes to help other veterans discover purpose after service. At just 11 years old, Aiden already has a remarkable heart for serving others. His desire to help stop veteran suicide has become a driving force behind the project, and Sean hopes the mission will continue for years to come. The current vision is to launch around June 1 for approximately 12 weeks each summer, eventually involving as many as 80 veterans over multiple years. Their boat, Emma, can accommodate three to five rowers, with all rowing taking place during daylight hours. Along the route, they plan to connect with local veteran organizations and community groups, building relationships and strengthening support networks wherever they stop. The heart of Oarsome Odyssey is simple but powerful: help veterans rediscover purpose, connection, and hope after military service. This week's music featured Phillip Beaver and the Phirejets, who joined us with plenty of energy and some fantastic original music. "Burning" – A brand-new release, Phil explained that this song reflects on the conflicts, protests, and division we see in the world today. Rather than simply reacting, it challenges listeners to think deeply about what they truly stand for and why. "Outta Here" – Featured from the band's second album, Blue, this song was written during the COVID-19 pandemic. It captures the emotions of isolation, feeling trapped, and the longing to simply get out and reconnect with life. "That's How Ya Sing the Blues" – The episode wrapped up with a fun, high-energy blues number that showcases each member of the band. Phil's keyboard performance shines throughout, making this an entertaining finale and a reminder that sometimes music is simply meant to bring people together and make them smile. Thank you for joining us for another episode of We Got Your 6@6. Stories like Sean and Aiden's remind us that healing often begins with purpose, community, and the willingness to help someone else take the next step forward. Until next time, keep checking in on one another—because no one should have to fight their battles alone.

We Got Your 6@6 with THE PEOPLE'S PATRIOT PROJECT

Barnside Brotherhood: Jason Sedotal & Nick Crouch This episode introduced us to two incredible veterans whose mission is to help fellow service members heal through connection, purpose, and the unique bond between humans and horses. Jason's military journey took him straight to Iraq, followed by a second deployment in 2006 before a medical discharge in 2007. Like many veterans, transitioning home was difficult. He found himself simply working and trying to move forward until he began spending more time with his son and around horses. Everything changed after attending a training session on equine therapy for veterans. Seeing firsthand how horses respond to human emotions opened his eyes to a new way of helping veterans heal. Since then, Jason has been fully committed to building Barnside Brotherhood. One of the most fascinating parts of the discussion was Jason's explanation of how foals and horses naturally sense emotions. They react honestly and immediately to a person's emotional state, often helping veterans recognize feelings they may not even realize they are expressing. This unique relationship creates opportunities for trust, reflection, and healing in ways that traditional conversations sometimes cannot. Nick shared an equally powerful story of resilience. After suffering a traumatic brain injury at just 19 years old, Nick was medically retired from the military by age 20. Like many veterans facing unexpected life changes, he struggled and spent years self-medicating with alcohol. One year ago, on Mother's Day, Nick decided to become sober—a milestone he proudly celebrated during the interview. Although he had always remained active in the veteran community, sobriety gave him renewed purpose. He knew he needed to channel his energy into something meaningful, and Barnside Brotherhood became that calling. Nick also spoke about helping veterans navigate the often-complicated VA system and connecting them with organizations where they feel comfortable asking for help. The long-term vision for Barnside Brotherhood is ambitious but inspiring: establish this ranch as a successful model that can eventually be replicated across the country, creating places where veterans can find healing, purpose, and community. As both Jason and Nick emphasized throughout the conversation, the mission isn't about recognition or expansion—it's simply about doing the right thing the right way. Wherever that journey leads, success will always be measured by the number of veterans whose lives are positively impacted. This week's featured artist was Navy veteran Brian Grilli, whose music blends Americana, folk, rock, and classic influences into a sound all his own. With Nordic family roots (which earned a friendly smile from Mark Petersen!), Brian shared that he doesn't see himself as someone with one defining military story. Instead, his focus has always been on serving others and sharing music that connects people. Influenced by many different genres, Brian describes his style as Americana with touches of folk, rock, and singer-songwriter traditions. He's currently working on a unique project—a cover album featuring songs originally released in 1972. Brian also made it clear that his greatest goal isn't fame. His passion is simply sharing music and being available for those who may need someone to talk to. Through his website, he encourages fellow veterans to reach out, and he's eager to become even more involved in organizations supporting the veteran community. Hanging Tree Co-written with fellow Navy veteran Rich Daly, Hanging Tree was recorded near Joshua Tree and features outstanding musicianship, with Brian playing bass. The song reflects on historic hanging trees in Arizona—once symbols of frontier justice—and reminds listeners that while people assign meaning to places and events, sometimes they are, in the end, simply trees. It's a thoughtful meditation on history, justice, and perspective. Little Things Perhaps the most reflective song of the set, Little Things reminds us how easily we overlook life's simple blessings while chasing bigger goals. One memorable lyric captures the heart of the message: "The best camera you have is your eye." The song encourages all of us to slow down, be present, and appreciate the moments that truly matter. So Fine Closing out the show was So Fine, a fun, classic rock-inspired song with hints of Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page influences. Written as a tribute to his wife, it's an energetic reminder that not every song has to carry a heavy message—sometimes it's simply about celebrating someone you love and enjoying great music. This episode beautifully illustrated that healing takes many forms. For Jason and Nick, healing comes through horses, community, and giving veterans a place where they feel understood without judgment. For Brian, healing comes through music, storytelling, and creating songs that encourage people to slow down, reflect, and connect with one another. Whether it's in a barn, around a campfire, or through a favorite song, meaningful connections have the power to change lives. Thank you to Jason Sedotal, Nick Crouch, and Brian Grilli for sharing your stories, your passion, and your commitment to serving others long after your military service ended. Remember: healing begins with connection, hope grows through community, and no one has to walk the journey alone. We've always got your 6.

We Got Your 6@6 with THE PEOPLE'S PATRIOT PROJECT

This week's episode featured entrepreneur, author, and community leader Ali Hemyari of Nashville K9 and Hemyari Family Companies. Ali's mission is simple but powerful: create a positive impact in the community while serving others and building a lasting legacy for his children. Throughout the conversation, Ali emphasized that none of his success happens alone. He repeatedly credited his outstanding team, noting that the organization would not move forward without the dedication and commitment of its staff. Nashville K9 has built an impressive facility focused on training dogs and preparing them for successful futures with their families and handlers. The operation is a testament to Ali's vision and the hard work of the trainers and staff who make it all possible. Ali is also the author of two books: The Success Code Discipline Looking ahead, Ali has several exciting projects in development, including a new podcast and an innovative app called Pawdentity. Special thanks and gratitude were extended to Rain, Katy, Mariah, Jordan, Molly, John, Jessica, the many experienced trainers who help make the operation successful, and the clients who trust Nashville K9 every day. Ali's message throughout the interview was clear: success is built through service, gratitude, discipline, and investing in people. This week's featured artist was Darrin, better known as "Daddy Peanut," from the band Forced Hammer. The nickname "Daddy Peanut" comes from a personal family story involving his son, who had a peanut allergy despite loving peanuts. Like many great stories, it became a memorable part of his identity. Forced Hammer began years ago following Darrin's reserve service. When he returned to active duty, music had to take a back seat. After retiring from the Marine Corps in 2023, he jumped back into the music world with renewed passion and determination. Forced Hammer delivers high-energy heavy metal but has the versatility to play a variety of musical styles. The band is currently working hard to release more music and expand its reach. One of Darrin's meaningful projects involved collaborating with fellow Iraq veteran Mike Corrado on a suicide awareness video focused on veteran mental health and suicide prevention. What stood out most during the interview was Darrin's passion—not just for music, but for people, friendship, and having fun while pursuing his dreams. A new website is coming soon at ForcedHammer.com. Special shoutouts were given to: Miguel (Drummer) Lee (Bass Player) His wife, for her unwavering support Shawn-Dog Productions for providing opportunities to perform Everyone supporting the band's continued growth Mi ClassicaA powerful introduction to Forced Hammer's musical style and energy. Mt. SnowportWritten about fellow retired Marine and friend Andy Hewitt, this song explores the importance of understanding personal limits, avoiding burnout, and recognizing the dangers of pushing too hard without taking care of yourself. Land of the Rising SunA thoughtful tribute reflecting on the atomic bombing of Hiroshima in 1945, honoring both those who experienced the tragedy and the difficult decisions faced by military and political leaders during wartime.

WeP3 RADIO on Live365 Who Helps the Helpers? Many of us are quick to answer the call when others need support. We show up, lend a hand, offer encouragement, and carry burdens alongside those who are struggling. But who takes care of the people doing the helping? I've often thought that if I were responsible for a team of employees, my first priority would be ensuring they were healthy and thriving—good food, physical activity, fresh air, quality family time, and opportunities to recharge. When people are cared for, they are better equipped to care for others. The same principle applies to all of us. Whether you're a caregiver, first responder, veteran advocate, volunteer, parent, or friend, you cannot pour from an empty cup. Taking time for yourself isn't selfish; it's necessary. Take the walk. Spend time with family. Get some rest. Enjoy the sunshine. Laugh with friends. Protect your peace. The people who help others deserve help too. Remember: Taking care of yourself allows you to continue taking care of those who need you most.

We Got Your 6@6 – Episode 306Alex – The Bearded Traveling Veteran & Music Spotlight: Scotty Hasting Episode 306 featured Alex, better known as The Bearded Traveling Veteran, whose mission is simple but powerful: connect with veterans, share resources, and help prevent the loss of more brothers and sisters in arms. After traveling more than 53,000 miles, Alex has met countless veterans across the country and has witnessed firsthand the challenges many continue to face after service. Having lost numerous battle buddies, he is passionate about raising awareness, building connections, and supporting organizations that are making a difference in the veteran community. Alex believes our current systems are failing too many veterans and hopes that by partnering with veteran-serving organizations, we can spread the word about available resources and create stronger support networks. His travels have already covered much of the southeastern United States, and he continues to build meaningful relationships everywhere he goes. We were honored to feature music and stories from veteran artist Scotty Hasting, who shared the inspiration behind several of his songs. "Scars"Originally intended to be an outlaw-style song, Scotty's fellow songwriters encouraged him to tell a more personal story. The result is a powerful reflection on both the physical and emotional scars that service can leave behind. "Good to Hear Your Voice"One of Scotty's most emotional songs, inspired by the passing of his father last year. After listening to an old voicemail from his dad, Scotty and his girlfriend transformed those feelings into a heartfelt tribute about loss, love, and remembrance. "Grateful"Years in the making, this song represents Scotty's heart and soul. It is a deeply personal expression of gratitude and resilience that he has been eager to share with listeners. A sincere thank you to Scotty Hasting for sharing your music, experiences, and message with our audience. Episode 305 – Daniel Herzog and Jared Buchanan | Beautifully Broken This week on We Got Your 6@6, we welcome Jared Buchanan and Daniel Herzog of Beautifully Broken, a powerful documentary project focused on resilience, healing, and the stories that connect veterans, first responders, and their families. Jared and Daniel share a unique bond that begins with a common thread in their lives—both were raised by law enforcement families. Jared, a Marine Corps veteran and corrections officer, carries with him the lessons and values instilled by his father. One message in particular, shared by his father before his passing, continues to guide his life and mission today. Jared has made it his purpose to share that message with others, raise awareness, and encourage those who may be struggling to find hope and connection. The passion Jared brings to every conversation is evident, and that passion is fueling a growing number of speaking engagements and opportunities to reach audiences across the country. His energy and commitment to helping others are impossible to miss. Joining him is Daniel Herzog, Director of Beautifully Broken. Daniel shares how his love for storytelling began as a child, creating small documentaries and visual stories. Throughout his career, he has often found himself drawn to the stories of veterans and first responders, seeking to capture both their struggles and their triumphs. Although Daniel had previously met Jared's mother, it was when he met Jared himself that the vision for this project truly came together. He was captivated by Jared's energy, authenticity, and the way he was navigating life's challenges while helping others do the same. That connection became the foundation for Beautifully Broken. For Daniel, this project has grown into something much larger than a documentary. From marketing and screenings to traveling alongside Jared for speaking engagements, he has become deeply invested in ensuring these stories reach the audiences who need to hear them most. Together, Jared and Daniel discuss the power of storytelling, the importance of vulnerability, and how sharing our experiences can help others find healing and purpose. Music Guest: Anthony Segovia This week's musical guest is Anthony Segovia, a Marine Corps veteran whose military roots run deep, with both parents and many family members having served. During the COVID pandemic, Anthony picked up a guitar and began a journey that has led him to songwriting and performing. 🎵 "Those Days"Recorded in Dallas, Texas, this was Anthony's first country song. Looking back on difficult moments in life, he reflects on how experiences that felt overwhelming at the time often become memories viewed through a different lens. It's a nostalgic reminder to appreciate the journey. 🎵 "Dream"Written shortly after "Those Days," this song offers hope in the midst of struggle. Drawing from challenges both before and after his Marine Corps service, Anthony opens up with vulnerability while delivering a message that healing and resolution are possible. 🎵 "Fall Time Leaves"A bittersweet reflection on a relationship that ended not because of conflict, but because life took two people in different directions. The song explores acceptance, growth, and the lingering hope that some stories may find their way back around. Thank you to Jared Buchanan, Daniel Herzog, and Anthony Segovia for sharing your stories, experiences, and talents with us. Episode 304 – Javier Guitron This week on We Got Your 6@6, we welcome Javier Guitron, a straightforward, honest, and driven veteran who shares his military experiences, his plans for the future, and the lessons he has learned along the way. Javier spent several impactful years serving in the military and looks back on that chapter of his life with pride. Today, he is focused on the next mission—completing his Master's degree and preparing for law school. He currently works in executive protection, a career he enjoys and excels at, while continuing to pursue even greater opportunities. Like many veterans, Javier reflects on the value of military service while also considering what the future may hold for his son. While he may hope his son chooses a different path, he is committed to supporting whatever decision he ultimately makes. One of the highlights of the conversation is Javier's memorable Special Forces story. While the experience itself may not have been funny at the time, Javier's ability to find humor and perspective in the situation makes for a great story and an even better lesson. When asked what advice he would give those transitioning out of the military, Javier offered a powerful message: "Monetize yourself and your time." He encourages veterans to continue developing their skills, investing in themselves, and adding value wherever they go. By becoming highly capable and continually growing, veterans can create opportunities and build successful futures beyond their military service.
