Grace Zion Revival Church Appreciation Service Highlights In Russel Pen, Linstead, St Catherine

Welcome to another episode of Storytelling in the Tropics. My name is Allison Harrison. In today’s episode, I’m in the community of Russel Pen in Linstead St Catherine. I was invited to the Grace Zion Revival Church on the occasion of an Appreciation Service for one the church elders, Mother Roberts who passed in 2023. I got there while the day service was in session and was greeted with a ceremonial welcome as Revivalists do when you arrive during the celebrations. Take a walk with me and I hope you enjoy the sights and sound highlights from the Grace Zion Revival Appreciation Service.

I got the opportunity to speak with Alex on the occasion of the first staging of the Rebirthing Celebrations and Kumina held in East Portland. For Alex, Kumina is, has always been and always will be a space for unity, reverence and reconnection with the ancestors. I learned a few things. I hope you will too.
