Cast out for being queer and the joy in finding your people: Andy Robinson's Story

ADHD isn't a fad or a "cool label." It can be crippling, disabling, and can affect employment, relationships, and self-esteem. Coaching really can help people to grab a rope through the fog and find a way through. Our conversation with Andy Robinson, a queer late-diagnosed ADHDer delved into the complexities of growing up feeling different, the importance of mindfulness for those with attention deficit disorders, and the transformative power of self-understanding.We touched on the challenges Andy faced growing up in a strict evangelical Christian environment, where he felt compelled to mask both his neurodivergence and his sexuality. He shares a poignant story about being outed by his mother, which led to a traumatic ultimatum from his family. This experience ultimately propelled him into a journey of self-discovery and acceptance, where he found community and belonging in the LGBTQ+ space.Connect with Andy🌈 Across TikTok, Instagram and Facebook: @insight2excellence💻 LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/andy-robinson-83a42293Connect with MOE💌 Sign up for the MOE newsletter: https://moefoundation.com/lp-newsletter-sign-up/👉 Visit our website: https://moefoundation.com👋 Connect with MOE Foundation on:Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/moe-foundationInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/moefoundation/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/moefoundationYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/@MOEFoundation

From Couples Counselling to Sauna Therapy: Exploring Diverse Healing Practices with Jem Stopes

Jem is a COSRT Registered Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist specialising in couples work - they help couples navigate the complexities of intimacy, connection, and conflict.Jem's background in conflict mediation and behavior change, particularly with perpetrators of domestic abuse, has significantly influenced their therapeutic style, which is characterised by a blend of frankness and kindness. When not in the therapy room, you'll likely find them producing community events with their mobile sauna, dancing, or planning their next adventure — currently involving a motorcycle and the mountains of Oaxaca.Jem's approach to therapy is informed by their belief in the importance of addressing underlying issues that lead to conflict, rather than merely treating surface-level problems. This perspective has led them to focus exclusively on couples counseling, allowing them to draw on their full range of skills and experiences.Jem’s philosophy for getting couples counselling is “Relationships are hard, getting some support along the way isn't a failure, it's just common sense!”Jem hosts a free online monthly peer support group for non-monogamous people.
