Don’t Let Circumstances Block Your Praise | Psalm 96:1–9
What happens to our praise when life doesn’t look the way we hoped? This morning, we prayed through Psalm 96:1–9 and talked about refusing to let our circumstances steal our joy, shape what we believe about God, or block our praise. Three things to consider: 🙏🏽 What am I convincing myself of? Am I telling myself that God isn’t working, nothing is changing, or everything is falling apart? Be careful what you allow your mind to rehearse. 🙏🏽 What am I seeking? Sometimes what we need is rest—not just physical rest, but rest in our thoughts. We can quiet the noise and rest in who God is, even while we wait. 🙏🏽 Who am I choosing to be? There are still good people in this world—and I’m aiming to be one of them. I can choose goodness, kindness, faith, and praise regardless of what is happening around me. Your circumstances may be real, but they do not have to steal your joy or silence your praise. “Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth.” — Psalm 96:1 Keep praising. Keep trusting. Keep believing that God is working—even when you can’t see it yet. What if some of the things we’ve accepted as “faith” are actually things we’ve been conditioned to believe? He is not intimidated by what we’re facing, and He doesn’t need us constantly fighting battles He is fully capable of handling. Maybe it’s time to move out of the way, stop giving darkness so much attention, and let the Light fight for us.
