In this episode, Caroline interviews her fellow dance major, Mishaela Knighton on how to take care of your mental health while being a dancer. The dance majors talk about what burnout is, what causes burnout, and ways that you can prevent burnout. Some of the advice that the dance majors give is to make sure that you are taking care of yourself through self care. It is important to have alone time, and surround yourself with people who love and support you rather than tearing you down. The dancers talk about the different ways you can practice self care like starting a new hobby, practicing yoga, having a spa night, or even buying yourself a sweet treat. The dancers discuss how the professional dance world today has a lot of anxiety in it. It is important to take care of yourself mentally. Seek help from others. You are not alone.
In this episode, Caroline interviews her fellow dance major and best friend, Camryn Hunter. You might recognize Camryn from episode 2, The Scary Professional World. Caroline and Camryn discuss in this episode how to maintain health as dancers. The dancers talk about the different injuries they have had and how they have cared for those injuries. They give advice on how to prevent injuries along with caring for them. Caroline and Camryn also share how to help prevent getting sick which can be very difficult when you have to miss dance classes or days of your job. Caroline and Camryn’s advice on how to care and prevent injuries and illnesses will give you the knowledge you need to be able to take care of your body as a dancer. After all, our bodies as professional dancers are our jobs. If we take care and love our bodies, our bodies will love us back.
In this episode, Caroline interviews her boyfriend, Nick Cabel, asking him a series of questions about dance. The quiz contains questions on dance history, popular dance moves, basic dance terms, and even about dance icons. In this quiz, if Nick gets 10 or more questions wrong, he wins a Venti Starbucks drink from Caroline. Nick quickly learns that he might not be as well versed in dance as he thought.
