Ep. 89 Passion for Fashion ft. Escofits

Welcome back to another episode of the USRFRNDLY podcast! This week Esteban AKA @escofits joins us and we get into all things fashion, creativity, and building connections with like minded artists. Esteban is a photographer, stylist, and full time member of the Layers Chi team! He started out with photography, but because of creative blocks, he shifted his focus to something he was always passionate about - fashion. He started his styling page @escofits in Jan of this year, and has already gotten so many opportunities from his consistency, his content, and his personal and professional relationships. Esteban always knew he was meant to help others, and started a career path in law enforcement. When that didn't pan out, he went all in with content creation, and eventually helping others - with style ...literally. He has been recognized and offered opportunities with styling and collabed with other Chicago artists like @GenteFinaChi and @LayersChicago to work events like New York Fashion Week, Suenos fest, and other pop-ups, to name a few. We also catch up with each other, talking about Rex's wedding, Squared's updates as a free agent, and Pablo gives a sneak preview of his upcoming fashion show in August. Ep. 85: Yes Chef! ft. Adriana Garibay

Special guest episode today we have our friend Adriana aka @drinoculars on the pod!! Adriana is an athlete / cook here in Chicago she has worked with brands like Under Armour, Nike, Don Julio and so many more! This episode starts off as a Jack Black appreciation show we then get some great advice from Adriana with Squareds big marathon coming up on how he can prepare for a good run, hopefully no chaffing nips and falling toe nails. Jason is back from Hawaii still feeling the effects from Rex's bachelors trip and had to deal with someone almost touching him with her feet on the flight. Pablo watched Ralph Barbosa on the same night as Mr. February's birthday celebration, Squared had a great bday from what he can remember! The guys try to recall how we first met Adriana but come up short, they all just kind of knew each other from OG Twitter & IG, seeing eachother from social media this is actually the first time sitting down with Adriana but it felt like they been friends for years! Adriana has always been pretty active but these recent years she randomly decided to run marathons with no training or experience, her mentality is super inspiring you can tell she can do anything she puts her mind to. At the moment she's working on creating her own cook book, we discuss the difficulty because she considers herself an "eyeball cook" and putting the recipes down on paper is tough. This process led her to reaching out for help with content and capturing her dishes for the general public, we talk about the importance of asking for help and reaching out. You might have seen Adriana on Black Ink Chicago, we get a little insight on what it's like to be on the set of these reality TV shows and what was really real. ANYONE CAN GET IT ON BRO Chocolate Ding Dongs for snack time! We talk about the risky actions that some of these rappers, Drake, 21 Savage, Play Boy Carti. Vision Pro just dropped we give our opinions seems like no one wants one except Pablo. Riot Fest and Summer festivals in general are always around the corner we get Adrianas experiences and her favorite type of music. How do we deal with grief and helping others that might be going through something, sometimes saying less is more.. A lot of great advice from Squared and Adriana who both have experiences big losses in their lives. There's alot in this episode the best way to find out is to listen all the way through! Ep. 83: Let Them Cook ft. MixByDarwin

Darwin is back! it's been too long since we last had him on the pod episode 13 we covered a lot of who Darwin is and what he does, but this time just felt more frndly where the guys could really talk their shit. Jason is trying to get back into the swing of things he has some new tees that might need a second dye job, Squared booked the Chicago Marathon and has been exercising frequently as well as cutting back on eating bad. Pablo is a proud basketball Dad his son started in a kid's league, we react to his son's first basket of the season. Since the last episode Darwin has formed a collective called "the suburban kids" they threw their first listening party back in the old studio and have performed for the windy city bulls, so much more happens in this episode it's hard to sum it all up the best way to hear everything is to listen all the way through we appreciate you for your time, your support and more importantly for being friendly!

Ep. 81: Silence is Golden ft. Pierre Junior Guillaume

We got Pierre Junior Guillaume on the pod! AKA @dirtypesos the one and only owner of @subtlegarments a local fashion brand that has been making a name for themselves for their high quality & cut/ sewn pieces. After taking some time since his last event Junior is back with a pop up next week at Blind Barber January 31st, he talks about how the opportunity came about and what can be expected at the event. Pablo has been busy shooting for his clothing brand and just came off an amazing collaboration with Novel Pizza you can check out that recap on his youtube. Rex celebrates his one year anniversary being married and is adjusting to the new year. Squared caught a cold prior to this episode and Jason had a funeral so they couldn't make it to this episode but more reason to have a part 2! We talk about consistency alot in this episode, Pierre feels he has been focusing on alot of pants and outerwear but wants to pivot to making more tshirts that more people can wear. Touch on his early years of designing for a brand he had with his old friends and how that led him to creat Subtle Garments. Snack time is some BBQ Takis called "Chippz" that no one has ever heard of and Pablo puts us on to a Colombian drink "Refajo".
