🤔 How often do we start interviewing someone on the Pod, and it feels like time just flies by? Not that often. But this was one of those candid and engaging conversations with Henrik Jeberg that you don't want to miss. 🛎️ Recently, I had the pleasure of sitting down for a truly insightful discussion with Henrik Jeberg, the Chief Strategy Officer of Zensai, to delve into "Defining Business Strategy that Delivers Results." Being Resourceful as a Startup Founder Bootstrapping with Catherine Mary Said (Episode 153)

Being Resourceful as a Startup Founder Bootstrapping with Catherine Mary Said (Episode 153)

Catherine’s story of being resourceful as a founder bootstrapping is so inspiring for other founders out there. She broke it down into the following steps: 🧡 When she pitched her idea to 2 of her friends: She found 2 co-founders - one specialising in B2B Tech Sales and the other one specialising in Product Design. 🧡 When she approached University of Sydney with the idea, they suggested her to apply at the Incubator Pre-Accelerator Program. That’s what I would call Luck + Timing + Capitalising at the right opportunity. And she learnt the art of simply ask questions even if you don’t know anything at that stage. 🧡 During the Pre-Accelerator Program, they must have done around 100 customer interviews and found out answers to: who’s the customer base, how do we solve this problem and much more. 🧡 During this time, she heard a lot of Podcasts and got advise/ tips from different mentors. And that's so important to do, especially at the initial few stages of building up your idea. 🧡 She is based out of Fishburners and so she has also made sure to fully utilise the resources there: from talking to industry mentors, business advisors and much more; to utilising the vibrant space there and attending so many great networking events there. Catherine recently joined us as the 132nd speaker on the Podcast. #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #personaldevelopment #humansuccess

Evolving Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Australian Landscape with Anne-Marie Elias (Episode 152)

💡 We can't agree more with Anne-Marie that innovation and creativity don't come from working in silos. You need to be a part of an active and engaged community where everyone is sharing their ideas and growing together. According to Anne, we still have some work to do when it comes to nurturing good ideas. Everyone is still working in silos and we cannot solve problems in silos. There can be several benefits of working together: 💚 You share ideas with each other. 💚 You keep on making everyone better in the team. 💚 You network and build strong relationships in the same community. That's why industry needs to work better with the Universities, Government and entrepreneurs. And that will ultimately direct our energy in the right direction towards solving the top community problems. Anne goes a step further and highlights the importance of coopetition where the competitors need to collaborate. George and Saurabh spent some great time with Anne-Marie discussing on the topic of "Evolving Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Australian Landscape". Anne joined us as the 131st speaker on the Podcast. #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #humansuccess #personaldevelopment #LinkedInNewsAustralia

Men & Mental Health with Miriam Wood (Episode 151)

🤔 How often do you feel ashamed/ embarrassed/ scared as a man to talk about your mental health and emotions? Let’s get rid of this stigma now. Give this episode a listen - a must watch for everyone out there. 🙌 The ability for men to open up about themselves and talk about something they are going through might depend on different factors such as their nationality, culture or their upbringing. Both men and women go through different mental health issues. But the way they show up is very different. 🧠 We talked a lot of about typical stereotypes in this episode that men are often taught or believed to become since childhood: 🔎 You’re a man. You need to be strong. 🔎 Don’t be a girl. Stop crying. 🔎 Be strong. You need to toughen up. 🔎 Mate, I think you are just coming out with your feminine side. 🔎 Women are supposed to be emotional and men are supposed to be strong. 🔎 Women are supposed to cry and men are supposed to hide their tears. ❤️ That’s what and how the society lets things be treated as normal and expressing emotions just keeps on becoming tougher for men. George and I wanted to do this special episode with Miriam Wood who specialises in Men’s Mental Health. She did an exceptional job in covering all aspects around Men & Mental Health. We had a great discussion around Men & Mental Health with Miriam Wood on the Ultimate Global Podcast very recently, who joined us as the 130th speaker on the Podcast. #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #personaldevelopment #humansuccess

Key Elements of Effective Leadership with Josh Gratsch (Episode 150)

Key Elements of Effective Leadership with Josh Gratsch (Episode 150)

💡 What are the top traits of effective leaders? What skills do you currently have and what skills do you need to learn further in order to lead teams effectively? 1️⃣ Self-Awareness: We should be able to lead ourselves before we think of leading others. Do you know who you are? What are you passionate to do in life? What kind of projects drain you off? Do you take care of your physical and mental health? Are you in control of your emotions and thoughts? Investment in our personal growth and development is one of the biggest investments in life. 2️⃣ Trust: The foundation of a high performing team is trust. If a team doesn't trust each other, they will break up faster than ever. They are not gonna have a healthy debate and discussion. You will find it way harder to setup common goals and objectives. 3️⃣ Character & Confidence: Are you somebody I can form a healthy and friendly relationship with? Are you somebody I can trust on? 4️⃣ Competence: Are you competent enough to lead teams? Have you showcased results in your role? What would you love to/ not love to emulate/not emulate from your leader? We had a great discussion around leadership with Josh Gratsch on the Ultimate Global Podcast very recently, who joined us as the 129th speaker on the Podcast. #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #personaldevelopment #humansuccess #LinkedInNewsAustralia

The New Concept of Human Success with Nina Caroe (Episode 149)

The New Concept of Human Success with Nina Caroe (Episode 149)

💡 Employees will stick with any organization when they can see themselves succeeding there. That's what defines Human Success. What do employees look for in organizations today? 🧡 Flexible and hybrid working environment: People would often run away from organizations that would not offer that. 🧡 No micromanagement: Employees would love to work at a place where the company is building a strong culture of trust and no micromanagement. 🧡 Employees want to see ways of getting upskilled in the organisation so they can learn and grow daily. 🧡 They want to see a clear personalised career pathway and succession planning for them. 🤝 We were recently joined by Nina Elisabeth Carøe 🙌 from Zensai on the Ultimate Global Podcast along with Paul Scott to talk about the new concept of Human Success that the company is trying to embark on. A lot of feel disengaged at work and can't see their success due to several reasons: 1️⃣ Basic stuff such as base pay, annual leave, extra benefits - increasing cost of living has got a lot to do with that as well with people saving less in a tough economy out there. 2️⃣ Lack of flexibility at workplaces: Some workplaces which are still living in the past and not offering flexibility to work from anywhere contribute towards the biggest reason for disengagement at workplaces. ✅ Work from anywhere ✅ Work from the office/ beach/ home/ library/ cafe ✅ Flexibility around work routines and timetables 3️⃣ Not feeling aligned with the company's vision: This would often happen due to different reasons: lack of proper training and a possible disconnect between leadership and employees. 4️⃣ A clear lack of communication between the managers and employees. That's what is often the reason for Quiet Quitting in GenZ and millenials. How do you tackle that? ➡ In our organisation, we do Weekly Check-ins every Friday afternoon where you can talk more about your week. And that gets directly fed to your Manager. I just need to answer 4 questions: ✅ What have you achieved this week? ✅ Have you experienced any blockers or issues this week? ✅ Have any colleagues done a great job this week? ✅ How are you feeling this week? Add some context. 5️⃣ People often can't see what sort of career pathways there are for them while moving forward in the same company. And that's a big WHY for people remaining in the same organisation for years. If you don't define personalised career pathways, people would start looking out at something else. 6️⃣ Their achievements and efforts are not recognised and talked about. Such a relevant episode for everyone out there! Do you agree on this? What else would you look for in an organization to see yourself successful there? #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #personaldevelopment #humansuccess

Challenges Faced by New Founders with Renate Crollini (Episode 148)

Challenges Faced by New Founders with Renate Crollini (Episode 148)

😵 The biggest challenge that founders face is to overcome this self-doubt: "Am I good enough? Does the world really need you to do this?" 😵 Unlike an established organisation, there's no set playbook to do things in a certain way. There's no skeleton for you to implement the things in a certain way. Being a Founder of the company, everything needs to be done from scratch: ❓ Figure out your marketing strategy ❓ Figure out your product market fit ❓ How do you speak about your problem with the customers? ❓ Who are your customers? ❓ How do you find these customers? ❓ What's the business model? 😵 Another major challenge is related to Financial Security. You don't have a set contract with a fixed income and other benefits included every month. That's all unknown as a founder, which can be insane if you're not mentally ready to take that challenge. 🎧 Listening to journeys of founders such as Renate Crollini from Brownee - Sustainability in the baking always inspires me to share more such stories with the audience. One of the most important elements during that journey is your attitude and mindset as a founder to face different challenges that come your way!! Renate joined us as the 127th speaker on the Podcast recently. #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #personaldevelopment #humansuccess

Aligning Career Success with Fulfilment with Raf Adams (Episode 147)

Are you able to align your career success with fulfilment in life? Is there a gap between what you focus on and what you really want in life? 💚 As per Raf, everyone has a suit and a hidden monk. 👉 The suit is your external self - its your career and ambition. Its your external image and how people see you. 👉 The inner monk primarily refers to your internal self. The internal self links back to your purpose and values in life. It also links to your intuition and what really brings you happiness and fulfilment in life. I wouldn't disagree with him. People would mostly focus on the external self and hardly interact with their inner self. But its definitely a good exercise to remind yourself every week about the inner monk and drive your purpose in life. I shared a similar post around my purpose a few days ago on LinkedIn. The gap between the suit and the inner monk eventually leads to all the bad things that you need to stay away from in your life: ❌ Frustration ❌ Unhappiness ❌ Anxiety ❌ Stress 💡This episode is definitely worth a listen for everyone. Raf has so beautifully described about the concept of "The Suited Monk". Raf Adams joined us as the 126th speaker on the Podcast recently. #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #personaldevelopment

Leaders Driving Change in Organisations with Melanie Smith (Episode 146)

Leaders Driving Change in Organisations with Melanie Smith (Episode 146)

🔥 One of the hardest things to do as a leader is to drive sustainable change in any organisation. Because if it goes wrong, you're screwed up. It needs to be a mix of Top-Down and Bottom-Up approach to handle change. ✨ According to Melanie Smith, any long-term positive change will require leadership and sponsorship from the top. But, you can't be sitting behind closed rooms and coming up with a strategy without consulting your staff. That's not going to work and it will fall off sooner rather than later. ❓ One of the biggest reasons why change doesn't stick in organisations is when organisations fail to answer this question: "What are the behaviours we have currently that we need to shift/ change?" It is not difficult to just put a new strategy, a new structure and new ways of working in place. What is harder is to address the transition of: 👉 Where we are Vs Where we need to be 👉 How do the new ways of working look like? 👉 How do the new behaviours look like? 👉 Which parts of our culture do we need to shift and change intentionally? What do you think? How are you addressing change in your organisations? Listen to the complete episode with Melanie Smith, who joined us as the 125th speaker on the Podcast. #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #personaldevelopment

Opportunities for Organisations in the Sustainability Space with Simon Lunn (Episode 145)

Opportunities for Organisations in the Sustainability Space with Simon Lunn (Episode 145)

🤔 What sort of opportunities exist for individuals and organisations in the ever growing sustainability space? A lot of the opportunities in the sustainability space are being driven by smart consumers and investors who are actually looking at organisations taking proactive measures on sustainability. 🍀 What sort of steps are you taking to build sustainable practices in your organisation? 🍀 How are you encouraging your employees and consumers to become more sustainable friendly? 🍀 How are you measuring the carbon footprint? 🍀 Smart consumers now want to know how much of their waste is getting recycled. They are looking for sustainability reports. 🍀 Investors want to see actions you are/ will be taking over the next 2 years to enhance sustainable practices. So the question also comes in here as to how we can better prepare a future workforce so they are skilled enough to take those jobs in sustainability? My take: ✅ Universities have already started picking up those key degrees on sustainability and students want to enter into this space as they are witnessing a tremendous opportunity for themselves here. ✅ There is a huge demand for people to up-skill themselves in this space. The different communities run by Greenhouse, Greenfluence and NetNada in Australia are playing a big role to drive that. ✅ Since some of those job roles can be new and upcoming, I also feel that there needs to be some sort of knowledge awareness in the community so they feel empowered and confident of what sort of stuff they are expected to do in those jobs. We had a chance to dive deeper on this with Simon Lunn, a sustainability analyst based in Sydney. Simon joined us as the 124th speaker on the Podcast. #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #personaldevelopment
