81 - Lesley T, Somatic Practitioner, and Intuitive Coach

In this episode, I sit down with Leslie Turner to dive into her incredible journey, from her early days as a naturopathic doctor (or in forensics before that!) to the transformative work she now does as a somatic practitioner and intuitive coach. Leslie opens up about what led her to shift paths, and why authenticity, self-awareness, and the mind-body connection are at the core of everything she does. We talk about her SEER Method, a powerful blend of somatic therapy, energetic medicine, and emotional release that she uses to help people break free from limiting beliefs and patterns. Leslie shares why listening to your body matters, how leaning into discomfort can create real growth, and the ways intuition can guide some of our biggest decisions. She also walks me through how she’s built her business and the ways she supports clients—both personally and professionally—through deep, meaningful transformation. It was a powerful conversation, that you will learn so much from. 80 - Kelsey R - Business and Marketing Coach

This episode is one I think every small business owner needs to hear! I sat down with Kelsey Reidl, a marketing strategist and entrepreneur who has such a grounded and refreshing approach to building a business. We talked about what she calls the 3Ms of Marketing — Mission, Mindset, and Main Ingredients,  and how each one plays a part in shaping not just your strategy, but your success and sanity as a business owner. Kelsey opened up about her journey from being a multi-passionate creative to carving her own path in marketing, and she shared so many insights that I know will resonate with anyone trying to grow something meaningful from the ground up.We dove into everything from influencer marketing and community building to the reality of showing up when motivation fades. Kelsey reminded me (and I think all of us) that marketing isn’t just about algorithms or ad spend, it’s about knowing your mission, trusting your mindset, and leaning into the ingredients that make you unique. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed trying to do it all or unsure where to focus your energy, this conversation will help you learn to simplify, experiment, and keep showing up!Learn more about Kelsey here:KelseyReidl.com--------------------------------------Learn more about Holiday Market by Barbara--------------------------------------Please follow Small Towns, Big Dreams on:InstagramFacebookOr send me an email at: SmallTownsBigDreamsPodcast@Gmail.com

36 - Larkspur Books

A few months ago, Kim reached out to me with an inspiring dream: to start her own business. Fast forward to today, and we're recording on location, from her beautiful new bookstore, Larkspur Books, in Southampton.  I had an incredible time talking with Kim. Her passion for her journey was contagious – who doesn’t want to start a business where you get to spend your time buying and reading books? And then helping others find their new favourite book too! During our conversation, Kim shared the ups and downs of starting a small business, the importance of community collaboration, and the joy of connecting with local authors. She also celebrated the vibrant small business community in Saugeen Shores, and shared her vision for Larkspur Books - a hub for book lovers and community events. This is a great episode for anybody who needs that little push to get their own thing started. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did. And if you're in the area, be sure to visit Larkspur Books and grab a book or two (If you want to read the book It, I suggest grabbing it from here!). Episode 7 - Crust and Crackle

Let's grow together. This is the seventh episode of the Small Towns, Big Dreams podcast. This week Katy Stroud from Crust and Crackle joins me in my new studio. She was a big inspiration for the podcast, and I love talking to her about her background, her bread, her family, and how she makes working with a bakery in her house and with her husband work! She shares how it is important to be persistent, and consistent. Even with technical difficulties, and (not-so) fancy editing work, this is a great episode with a great guest. 50 – “You’re allowed to be different and write your own story” – Captured by Cadence with Cadence O.

I absolutely love this episode! At just 15 years old, Cadence’s teacher recognized her talent for photography and encouraged her to turn it into a business. She began by capturing photos of her friends behind the school, which quickly grew into photographing weddings, families, birth announcements, and more. Now 18 and freshly graduated from high school, Cadence has chosen a different path than her peers—staying in Grey Bruce to run her own successful business while many of her friends headed off to college and university. Cadence is wise beyond her years. She exemplifies the power of investing in yourself, carving your own path, and trusting your instincts. Despite facing questions about skipping post-secondary education, she confidently follows what feels right for her and her business, with a clear vision for where she’s headed. Her story will undoubtedly inspire listeners of all ages—whether they’re just starting out or have years of experience. Cadence is truly excelling in her craft, and it’s impossible not to be amazed by what she’s accomplished so far and what lies ahead. 45 - “Nobody cares, work harder” - Topp Developments with Jesse T.

I didn't know much about Jesse’s story before he reached out to be on the podcast, but I knew he had built several businesses in our town, so I didn’t hesitate to say yes.
