TALKING+LISTENING+EXECUTION=COMMUNICATION/WINNING

Today on the show Gibbs talks with Team Lancaster Thunder about how many of the close losses on the football field this weekend actually trace back to poor communication. The easy answer is to say that kicker needs to make his kicks. That is true, but not the whole story. Excellent communication sets the platform for excellent execution. Gibbs talks about communication as he considers the outcomes for the Eagles, Commanders, and the Kentucky Wildcats. Gibbs talks about the power of good communication. He updates the Pro Fan League Survivor competition. He also talks about the power of the offensive line on the #1 ranked high school football team in Pennsylvania. Gibbs then discusses the root word for dynamite found in the book of Romans in the Bible. Do you need some "Good News"? Could we see a small market World Series? Stay tuned. Go Make Plays! Gibbs talks about the college football slate; and this week he considers the college football games to be better than the NFL games from a quality standpoint. Gibbs considers the wonders of putting Nerds gummy clusters in a grilled cheese like the New York Islanders and talks about how that pairing reminds him of Dabo Swinney and Brent Venables who seem to be struggling without each other. Finally, Gibbs talks about the false argument around the Dodgers ruining baseball as four of the teams left in baseball right now are among the thriftiest spenders. It takes more than money to win at a high level. Go Make Plays! Remember we are "Not Just Fans"!

SPORTS REVEALS WORLDVIEWS

Today on the show Gibbs talks with Team Lancaster Thunder about favorite pieces of sports equipment, the ridiculous numbers Jeremiah Smith is putting up on college cornerbacks all over America, and about how sports is a great revealer of worldview. Sports provides excellent stories and narratives and gives the astute observer a clean look at the worldview's that the people involved hold in a very unique way. Gibbs talks about how Satan has been working inside the lie that "God does not care about sports" for a long time in America. Sports are bigger than the game on the field. Sports touches economics, habits, relationships, politics, decision making, religion, and can be an absolute idol factory. Gibbs shares the story of Paul in Acts 26 talking about how he came to repent of sin and follow Jesus Christ. Just as Paul has trusted in Christ, and Gibbs has trusted in Christ, Jesus stands ready to save from sin today if you have not yet trusted in Christ. Go Make Plays! Remember we are "NOT JUST FANS"!

MADDEN/SUMMERALL VS BUCK/AIKMAN

Today on the show Gibbs talks with team Lancaster Thunder about days of old in the world of sports. Playoff baseball at Wrigley Field and Fenway Park have Gibbs wishing the "House That Ruth Built" had not been turned into a parking lot. The growing amount of mustaches that Gibbs is noticing is making him think of the 90s where John Madden and Pat Summerall made Sunday football memorable week by week. Click here as Madden and Summerall remind us of their greatness in the booth. Gibbs recently realized they serve toasted grasshoppers at Mariners games and he thought of John the Baptist; who ate locust, and came to prepare people for the coming of Jesus Christ who saves sinners. EQUIPPED FOR RESILIENCE & COUNTERATTACKS

Offensive tackles, QB's, receivers, cleats melting, week 2 brought the storm. College football season also puts turbulence on display week to week. Life puts turbulence on display week to week. Gibbs reflects on how we face storms and battles in life. In the Bible in the book of Ephesians; the writer Paul writes that, the Devil is scheming against followers of Jesus. Are you aware of this? Are you also aware that you have been given everything you need to stand firm and to counterattack the darkness. Gibbs talks about the armor of God. CANNOLI'S & SAMURAI

Today on the show Gibbs talks with Team Lancaster Thunder about the elite dessert known as the Cannoli, the elite snack known as the Texas Twinkie, he joins the chorus welcoming Bruce the baby bison to Buffalo, and goes on a road trip around the world of sports. Along the way, we applaud a nickname with triple alliteration, the difficult to beat Breanna Stewart, the prospect of a drama filled homecoming at "the grove" in Mississippi, and some early illumination games around the NFL. Toward the end of the journey Gibbs talks about the hope found in Jesus Christ and the glorious kingdom the triune God is building. Sunday's are amazing because of the redeemed saints gathering for fellowship and the preaching of God's word, not because of football! We do recognize football and sports are a lot of fun here at Pro Fan League when held in their right station. Sports are a terrible god. Does the joy of the Lord show in your face? Go Make Plays! TWO THUMBS UP & A BAREFOOT KICKER

Today on the show Gibbs talks with team Lancaster Thunder about what he liked about a sports weekend that gets TWO THUMBS UP! The barefoot kicker, a mean Giants team, Bevo giving the Buckeyes the Hook em, an immaculate inning in Boston, and an audacious beginning to the Pro Fan League survivor pool. In New York the Polar Bear returned to a thunderous ovation. This got Gibbs thinking about names people are known by. God the Father is known by many names in the Bible. Gibbs looks at the "Holy One Of Israel" in Isaiah 43, and encourages Team Lancaster Thunder to take comfort and encouragement from that name. Finally, Gibbs looks at the Sporting News top 140 player in NFL history list and wonders if Derrick Henry deserves to be in the top 70, top 30? What do you think? Go Make Plays!
