The Mahogany Seat is an experiential podcast centering Black women's workforce racial trauma and healing. Inspired by their own journeys and joint Op-ed published in Barron's, The Mahogany Seat was founded by Jarie Bradley and Kristina Dove. Our monthly podcast will feature stories from Black women who've been impacted by racial trauma in the workforce. We will include insight from a Black therapist and will provide therapy sessions to our guests to support their continued healing.

As we sunset The Mahogany Seat, join us as we take a look back on the past two seasons.

The Mahogany Seat founders Kristina Cola and Jarie Bradley sit down with Young Leaders, Strong City CEO and Co-Founder, Amber Simsto discuss what recognition should look like. Dr. Summer Rose joins in to help identify some of the reasons we, as Black women, shy away from the spot light when oftentimes the recognition is not only well deserved, but long over due.

Sit down with The Mahogany Seat founders to check in on all things For The Culture. From blind dates (you’ll never guess who) and vineyard hoping in Napa Valley to back to school (supply) blues, honeymooning and feeling all the vibes from our homegirl Erykah Badu, Too Short and #NPR #TinyDesk concerts with Juvy (in our Mannie Fresh voice), we’re checking in and chatting it up about all of it.

From "pro-tips" and tools on how to curate corporate careers, to creating sacred spaces for support and finding balance when being advocates for others as well as yourself, join us for another lively conversation as The Mahogany Seat pulls up a chair inside the corporate world with two seasoned professionals.

Who has helped you shape your career trajectory? Who have you helped? The Mahogany Seat founders sit down with their powerhouse mentors to discuss mentorship. From being a mentor to having one and everything in between this episode helps us better understand how we aren't in this alone and how finding someone who shows up for you can be the game changer and a soft place to fall. We're later joined by one of our resident therapists, Tina Robertson to guide us and give us "pro tips" on how and when to show us for others and why having someone to lean on and lean into is essential in the workplace.

We're kicking off Season Two of The Mahogany Seat with founders @jarieantoinette and @kristinacdove as we jump into Women's History Month and celebrate you and those that help keep you sane, happy, fabulous, centered, loved, straight, cute, leveled, laughing, loving and all of the things that friendships give (and take). Let's celebrate us, Happy Women's History Month!

In this special North Texas Giving Day episode of The Mahogany Seat, founders Jarie Bradley and Kristina C. Dove spend time with Dallas TRHT's Black Women in Nonprofit Leadership (BWNPL) cohort to share the vision and mission of the podcast. With the support of Dallas Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation, Bradley and Dove share how their common workplace traumas connected, and then propelled them to create a safe space for Black women to share, heal and grow beyond their experiences. The insightful conversation continues as Errika Flood-Moultrie pulls up her chair at The Mahogany Seat to talk about the importance of supporting these initiatives, followed by resident therapist Dr. Summer Rose (@srosechaney) who always provides therapeutic context to support the experiences that Black women are often faced with in the workplace and how those traumatic experiences can activate our next steps to help keep us safe and healing.
