About the show

Niels Brabandt, the owner and founder of NB Networks, is your host. Sustainable Leadership. We are helping managers to become better leaders. This show dedicates time to help, to improve and to assist you in achieving your goals. You may already be a leader and aim to become better, or you want to be in a leadership position in the future and avoid mistakes on the way of getting there. Your host, Niels Brabandt, is in business since 1998. He worked for a large corporation as well as a global franchise company before he became full-time self-employed. This podcast is your free access to his knowledge, his experience and his network of experts. What can you expect? You will get scientifically proven expertise. Your host will make unambiguously clear when he is talking about opinion rather than facts. He will address your challenges as a leader or someone who wants to be one and how to overcome them. The challenges you face as a leader in today's business world come from many different aspects of an organisation. Finding the right way to communicate and managing conflicts are just the beginning. Excellent presentations skills are a must today besides dealing with change inside and outside the teams which you have to lead — keeping motivation high means that you must be able to have skills of influence without being manipulative. Negotiate and set goals, be creative and innovative, make the right decisions and position yourself in a business work which heavily relies on networking. You must deliver all this at the best quality with efficient and effective processes during projects which must be on time, on track, on target but under budget. Moreover, of course, you must recruit, develop and retain the best talents of your industry. Your employer's brand and business storytelling become a significant part of your work today. At the same time, hard skills as forecasting, planning, conceptualisation are part of you as a leader mastering Strategy. Of course, selling the products has to work as well in challenging and competitive environments. Niels Brabandt, owner and founder of NB Networks, your host, will help to become a (better) leader.

#579 Handling Misinformation | Niels Brabandt on Evidence, Accountability and Leadership Trust

For the first time in thirty five years, children in the United States have died of measles, a direct consequence of misinformation about vaccines taking hold. In this episode of The Leadership Podcast, host Niels Brabandt explains why misinformation is not simply a social media problem but a genuine operational risk for every organisation. He unpacks why an opinion is never a substitute for evidence, why freedom of opinion does not mean freedom from consequence, and why the ongoing qualification of employees has become a non-negotiable leadership duty. Using real world cases, including a senior doctor dismissed for spreading racist misinformation, Niels Brabandt sets out a practical, evidence-based approach for business decision-makers to protect their organisations from the damage misinformation can cause. #567 Who Leads Human-AI Interaction? | Dr. Adrian Wolfberg on Leadership in the Age of AI | Episode 2 of 12

In episode 2 of this 12-part series, host Niels Brabandt continues his conversation with Dr. Adrian Wolfberg, author of Who Leads When AI Thinks, on who actually leads when humans and AI work together. Dr. Adrian Wolfberg argues that leadership is determined not by which is more capable, but by the nature of the problem itself, assessed across familiarity, complexity, and ethical weight, plus a hidden fourth dimension: time. A practical, framework-driven episode for business decision-makers rethinking how leadership works inside AI-enabled organisations. #578 The Ongoing Issue of Leadership Communication | Niels Brabandt on Clarity, Trust and Crisis-Proof Messaging

Great leaders are supposed to be great communicators, yet Germany's recent sugar tax debacle around Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil shows how quickly an unclear message spirals into a public relations crisis. In this episode of The Leadership Podcast, host Niels Brabandt breaks down why the outcome of any communication is decided by the audience receiving it, not the leader sending it, and why leaving gaps in a message invites sense-making that leaders cannot control. Using real world examples, including Volkswagen's far clearer handling of a difficult announcement, Niels Brabandt explains the concept of communicating in closed circles, a practical discipline every business decision-maker can apply immediately to protect their organisation's reputation and trust. In episode 7 of this 12-part series, Niels Brabandt asks Dr. Adrian Wolfberg, author of Who Leads When AI Thinks, the question many leaders privately fear: if AI becomes capable enough, what is left for human thinking? Dr. Adrian Wolfberg explains why AI does not eliminate human thinking, it changes which kind of thinking creates the most value, and why critical and creative thinking remain distinctly, durably human.
