194 | Let Faith Grow & Fear Go – Ben Hinton

What if the hardest things you’ve walked through… weren’t setbacks at all? What if they were preparation? This is Part 2 with Ben Hinton—a husband, a father of two amazing daughters, and a man whose life has been shaped by resilience, surrender, and deep faith. Ben is the founder of Let Faith Grow™, a discipleship-driven brand launched in 2025 that’s helping individuals and families build daily, Christ-centered practices. He’s also the author of “Let Faith Grow: Running Through Adversity,” released in 2023—a powerful testament to overcoming life’s toughest challenges. But Ben’s story didn’t start with a book… or a platform… or a speaking stage. It started in the middle of real life. Born in Colorado, raised in Pittsburgh… a competitor, a basketball player, someone who chased identity in performance and recognition—just like many of us. And then… adversity hit early. At 11 years old, Ben lost vision in his right eye. Later, at 26… a traumatic brain injury changed everything. His abilities shifted. His future became uncertain. And for a season, even the most basic things—like reading—became a daily challenge. But here’s what makes this conversation so powerful: Ben didn’t just go through adversity… he chose how to respond to it. Instead of asking, “Why me?” He began to ask, “What is God preparing me for?” And today, that journey has led him into his purpose. In 2025, he stepped fully into that calling— joining the C-Suites for Christ speakers bureau, partnering with organizations like Bold Brave Me and the Christian Entertainment Network, and creating daily devotionals for believers in the marketplace. This is a conversation about choosing faith over fear… about letting go of comfort to rise into purpose… and about what it really means to run your race full circle—not just in circles. We talk about: • How God uses past struggles to prepare us for future calling • Why identity in Christ anchors everything • And how even something like “LFG” can be redefined from the world’s message… …to something eternal: Let Faith Grow. Let Fear Go. But maybe the most powerful line you’ll hear in this episode is this: “I would rather hear the whisper of the Lord… than the roar of the world.” In a world full of noise, pressure, and distractions… that choice changes everything. So if you’ve ever felt like your story doesn’t make sense… or your struggle doesn’t have purpose… Part 2 is where things start to come full circle.

193 | Obedience Before Results – Ben Hinton

What happens when the results you’ve built your life on suddenly disappear? In Part 1 of this powerful conversation, Patrick sits down with Ben Hinton, founder of Let Faith Grow, to unpack a story that challenges everything we believe about success, identity, and control. At just 26 years old, Ben experienced a traumatic brain injury that stripped away his abilities, confidence, and sense of identity. What followed wasn’t just physical recovery—it was a spiritual awakening. Together, they explore what it really means to live differently in a world obsessed with outcomes: Choosing obedience over results Finding identity in Christ instead of performance Slowing down in a culture that rewards constant speed This isn’t just a conversation about faith—it’s about transformation. If you’ve ever felt stuck chasing results… If your identity has been tied to your performance… Or if God is calling you to slow down and trust Him in a new way… This episode will challenge you to rethink what winning actually looks like. Because following Christ is one thing— but being formed by Christ is something entirely different.

192 | I Failed As A Dad – Patrick Booth

Leadership lessons don’t always come from boardrooms, P&L meetings, or strategy sessions—sometimes they show up in rental cars, airport lines, and moments where everything feels like it’s falling apart. In this episode, Patrick Booth shares a candid, funny, and humbling story from a family trip to Costa Rica that quickly turned into a real‑time leadership test. From navigating stressful roads to standing in broken airport systems, Patrick reflects on how unmanaged stress, passivity, and emotional decision‑making impacted the people closest to him—and what leaders can learn from it. This episode is honest, relatable, and deeply practical for leaders at work and at home. It’s a reminder that leadership is always on display—and that growth often happens when humility meets grace.

191 | What Is Your One Thing? – Patrick Booth

“What is your one thing?” Not the church answer. Not the leadership answer. The real one. Patrick opens up about the “one things” that quietly take God’s place—power, approval, comfort, image, control, achievement, even helping—and how each one has shaped his leadership at CCB and his life at home. Through honest stories, spiritual conviction, and a season of deep surrender, he reveals how God has been dismantling self‑reliance and rebuilding trust. You’ll hear how recent leadership storms pushed him to the edge, how God whispered “Trust Me” when clarity felt out of reach, and why surrender isn’t weakness… it’s freedom. If you’ve been gripping too tightly, planning too compulsively, or carrying weight you were never meant to hold, this episode will meet you right where you are. Your one thing is shaping your life—whether you admit it or not. This conversation will help you name it… release it… and let the Spirit lead.

190 | I Was Sinking…But Now I Am Singing – Patrick Booth

God is not done writing your story. In the episode, I share moments where I could honestly say: I was overwhelmed… but God provided. I was stretched thin… but God held us together. I was tired… but God showed up quietly and consistently. I was heartbroken… but God surrounded us with hope. I was uncertain… but God opened new doors. I was stepping into the unknown… but God guided every step. From the shutdown in 2020… to my dad’s fall… to therapy, transitions, loss, hospital stays, leadership changes, and new chapters… God has been faithful in every single season. Not once has He failed. Not once has He abandoned. Not once has He wasted the pain. This episode is for the leader who feels like they’re in their own “I was…” moment right now. Maybe you’re overwhelmed. Maybe you’re grieving. Maybe you’re uncertain about the future. Maybe you’re carrying more than anyone knows. If that’s you, hear this: But God has a different plan. He is working. He is present. He is faithful. And He is not done with your story.

189 | Outwork. Outlearn. Outlead. – Christina Brandt

Today’s episode is titled Outwork. Outlearn. Outlead., and it’s a conversation I’ve been looking forward to for a long time. I’m joined by Christina Brandt, President of A1 Concrete Cutting in Las Vegas, Nevada—and someone I’m proud to call both a close friend and a fellow CEO. Christina and I have been in the same CEO leadership group for nearly a decade, and I’ve had a front row seat to the way she leads, learns, and shows up with integrity. In this conversation, we dig into what it really takes to lead when the stakes are high—carrying a founder’s legacy, running a growing business in a male dominated construction industry, and balancing leadership with life as a spouse and parent. Christina shares the pressure and motivation of being a second generation leader, how she earned credibility early on, and the mindset shifts that helped her become decisive without losing compassion. We also talk candidly about hard leadership moments—like letting people go the right way—along with the routines, faith practices, and boundaries that help her avoid burnout and stay grounded over the long haul. This episode is practical, honest, and full of lessons every leader can apply.

188 | Preparing The Heart of an Athlete For Battle – Chauncey Franks

Welcome back to the Impact of Leadership podcast. Today, we jump into Part 2 of a powerful conversation with TCU’s FCA Chaplain, Chauncey Franks. If you caught Part 1, you heard Chauncey’s incredible testimony — from drifting in college to a life-changing encounter with God, to now impacting hundreds of student athletes, coaches, and leaders every single year. But in Part 2, we go even deeper. Today, Chauncey and I talk about the things every leader faces but rarely admits out loud — identity, doubt, insecurity, and the pressure to perform. We explore how student athletes, and honestly all of us, can stay grounded in a world that constantly measures us by outcomes, applause, likes, and performance. We also dive into the power of prayer, and why Chauncey encouraged me and my wife to begin a 40 day prayer journey that has already been transforming our home. He breaks down what bold prayer really is, why it matters, and how God invites us to pray prayers that outlive us. And we get into something every leader needs to hear: spiritual warfare and the armor of God — not only how to protect yourself, but how to go on offense through prayer, worship, and faith. For parents of high school athletes, Chauncey shares practical, heartfelt wisdom on how to prepare your kids spiritually, emotionally, and mentally before they step into the pressure cooker of college sports. And of course — we wrap it all up with a little fun, including his must try Texas BBQ recommendations. This episode is real, raw, hopeful, and packed with wisdom for leaders, parents, athletes, and anyone who wants to walk out their calling with strength and clarity. Here is Part 2 with Chauncey Franks.

187 | Called To Lead From Church To Campus – Chauncey Franks

In Part 1, Chauncey opens up about: Growing up a pastor’s kid in Texas Drifting far from his faith during college The night God stopped him in his tracks inside a nightclub How his future wife played a pivotal role in bringing him back to church His calling into ministry And how God led him from youth pastoring to FCA at SMU and eventually TCU This is a story of identity, purpose, surrender, and redemption. It’s the kind of story that reminds us that leadership isn’t about titles or positions — it’s about obedience, transformation, and allowing God to shape our steps. This first episode sets the foundation for a deeper conversation in Part 2, where we’ll explore identity, doubt, pressure, prayer, and leadership. But first — let’s step into the backstory of a man whose life is making a massive impact at TCU and far beyond. Here is Part 1 with Chauncey Franks.

185 | Rewiring Your Brain – G.R.A.S.P. – Tara LaFon Gooch

Today we dive into Part 2 of my conversation with Tara Lafon Gooch — an episode centered on what it really means to rewire your brain. This isn’t just positive thinking. It’s restructuring your mindset, reshaping your beliefs, and building a stronger foundation for your leadership and your life. Tara brings us back to the starting point of the GRASP Method: Gratitude. Gratitude isn’t soft — it’s hardwiring. It forms new beliefs, and when you form new beliefs, the old lies lose their power. From there comes Responsibility, the essence of self leadership. As Tara says, “You can’t lead a team of many if you can’t lead a team of one.” It starts with us. No victim mindset. No excuses. Own your choices, and you begin to transform your future. Then comes Action — the step none of us can skip. Tara reminds us: “An ounce of doing is worth more than a pound of theorizing.” Ideas don’t change your life. Action does. “Hopes and dreams,” as I said — and Tara added, “Castles built with sand” — can only stand when you build on responsibility and intention. We also dig into vision and purpose. You can’t know your purpose if you can’t see where you’re going. Too many of us live in the rearview mirror, replaying what already happened. Tara says it perfectly: you can’t drive 70 mph while looking backwards. Your power as a leader is in the next step you take, not the step you regret. We talk about forgiveness, too — why we hold onto hurt to feel in control, and why real control actually comes from letting go. And Tara shares her own transformation — hitting rock bottom, surrendering, and finally hearing gratitude in a way that changed everything. “When the student is ready, the teacher appears.” And from that moment, she was never the same. Finally, Tara gives us a glimpse into her daily grounding: prayer, gratitude, Scripture, protecting her mind from comparison, and choosing family over scrolling. Small habits — 1% a day — that create long term transformation. This conversation will challenge and encourage you. It’s about rewiring your thinking, reclaiming your power as a leader, and choosing the reality you want to build. Let’s jump in.
