The Teacher in Congress ~ Mike Honda

Episode Highlights:In this two-part conversation, The Double R Show welcomes eight-term U.S. Representative Mike Honda, whose extraordinary life has taken him from the Peace Corps, to a long career in education, to Capitol Hill in Washington DC, and now the Oregon Coast. After serving two years in the Peace Corps in El Salvador, Honda returned to California and embarked on a long career in education before entering public life. He brought a teacher’s perspective to 16 years in Congress, where he became known for his work on education, civil rights, immigration, and the environment, among the myriad of issues he championed. Incarcerated with his Japanese American family during World War II, Honda experienced firsthand a defining chapter in the history of the United States.   Now living on the Oregon Coast, he reflects on his journey, his experiences in public life, and his vision for the future of education in America. Mike Honda (Wikipedia)Support the showDouble R Show - Visit us online - Roger@DoubleRshow.com - Email us today - facebook.com/DoubleRShow - Follow us - Buy Double R a Donut - A way to support the podcast and local non-profits - Join as a Sponsor - Advertise with us to promote your business - All Ways Productions LLC   -  All Rights Reserved
