Stop Selling Yoga. Solve a Problem People Actually Have.

If you’re trying to build an online yoga or wellness business, it can feel nearly impossible to stand out. Because if you’re offering generic online yoga classes, you’re competing with thousands of free videos on YouTube, yoga apps, and established teachers with huge personal brands. If someone doesn’t know you yet, why would they choose you? In this episode, I’m sharing a different way to think about your offer: start with a real-life problem your people actually want help solving, and then use yoga, breathwork, meditation, Ayurveda, or whatever your tools are to help them get there. I’ll share a few things I would personally pay for right now, from help getting back to sleep at 3am to short strength workouts for women over 50, plus examples of entrepreneurs on Skool who are building successful communities around specific problems and desires. We’ll also talk about how to identify a problem you could become known for solving, how to get beyond vague promises like “feel more balanced” or “reduce stress,” and why you don’t need to have your perfect niche figured out before you start. FREE TRAINING: How to Turn Your Yoga Wisdom into Consistent Online Income In this free training I'll walk you through the Honey Flow Method: the exact system yoga teachers are using to add $1k or more to their monthly income with one small digital offer, without needing a big audience or pushy tactics. ➡️ https://susannerieker.com/training JOIN THE BLISSFUL BIZ HIVE 🐝 Inside the Blissful Biz Hive you'll build your Honey Flow: the exact system yoga teachers are using to add $1k or more to their monthly income with one small digital offer, without needing a big audience or pushy tactics. ➡️ https://www.skool.com/blissfulbizhive 💖 If you liked this episode, please leave a review on Apple Podcasts – your feedback really makes a difference. 📆 Never miss a new episode and subscribe on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. ✨ Share your biggest takeaway on Instagram stories - just be sure to tag @susannerieker so I can see them. 🎓 To learn more about how to work with me or to get instant access to freebies, trainings and more go to www.susannerieker.com . 🙏❤️

"Yoga Shouldn't Be a Business" and Other Myths with George Kao

Almost every time I launch something, at least one person tells me that yoga shouldn't be a business. If you've ever felt that quiet discomfort around selling your work, this conversation with George Kao is going to feel like a relief. George Kao has been coaching heart-led entrepreneurs since 2009, and he's spent all of that time working out one question: how do you market and sell without manipulating anyone or losing yourself in the process. His answer is that authentic marketing is really just telling the truth in service of the people you want to help, or as he puts it, making friends at scale. In this episode we get into what that looks like in practice, and why it tends to work better over time than the pressure tactics so many of us have been sold. We also talk about the tension that comes up for so many yoga teachers around money, including where the belief that spiritual work shouldn't be paid even comes from, and why George thinks it no longer serves us. And we spend a good while on AI, because George has automated most of his admin as a solopreneur and has a refreshing view on it: that using AI well frees you up to be more human in your business, not less. If you've been feeling the trust recession, or the quiet worry that being authentic means staying small, this one will leave you with a calmer, clearer way forward. Building an Authentic Online Yoga Business with Arundhati Baitmangalkar

Arundhati Baitmangalkar, host of the popular Let's Talk Yoga podcast, never planned to build any of this. She didn't set out to have a studio, a podcast, or an online yoga school. She just wanted to teach. And yet here she is, more than a decade later, with something recognizable and lasting. In this episode we talk about how you stay authentic to yoga while building a business online, in a world that constantly pushes you toward the opposite. Because that's the real tension, isn't it? You want to reach more people and build something sustainable, but so much of the online advice asks you to perform, to post constantly, to make it all about you. Arundhati has found another way, and it's rooted in something she keeps coming back to: you're not the point, the yoga is. We get into the reframe she uses when showing up online feels like too much, why she spends less than ten minutes a day on Instagram, and how she thinks about success in a way that has nothing to do with follower counts or full classes. She also shares the question she asks every teacher who feels behind, and why building slowly might be the most authentic thing you can do. If you've ever wondered whether you can grow a real online business without losing yourself in the process, this conversation is for you. Why I Bet My Business on Community: Behind the Scenes of My Membership for Yoga Teachers

A membership isn't the easiest way to make money. I'll be the first to tell you that. So why have I bet my whole business on one? In this episode I take you fully behind the scenes of the Blissful Biz Hive to answer exactly that. The years of starting it, closing it, and starting it all over again. The three tiers I finally landed on, and the thinking behind each price that most people would never guess. And the platform I'm still completely obsessed with for building community, and why I think there's nothing better out there for it. And if you've ever been unsure whether you should build a membership, a low-ticket offer, or something else entirely, stay with me to the end. Because I lay out exactly what I'd build if I were starting from wherever you are right now. Is Substack Worth It for Yoga Teachers with Jo Hutton from Yoga for Tired People

Is it still possible to grow an audience organically and build a real online business as a yoga teacher? Jo Hutton is living proof that it is. Jo spent over 16 years teaching yoga in Newcastle, ran her own studio, and trained more than 50 yoga teachers. Today she has one of the most engaged wellness communities in the UK, with over 46,000 subscribers on Substack. But the path there was anything but a straight line. In this conversation Jo shares the burnout that completely stopped her in her tracks, the quiet shift that slowly brought her back to life, and the video that got seen 8.6 million times and changed her business almost overnight. We talk about how she actually builds engagement, why she stopped treating Instagram like a shop front, the surprising thing that made creating content feel so much easier for her, and how she turns casual followers into a warm email list that genuinely buys. If you've ever felt stuck on what to post, or quietly wondered whether you missed your window to grow online, this episode is going to give you a lot to think about. "Help, Nobody's Buying Anymore." Here's Whats Really Going On

Have you caught yourself thinking "nobody's buying anymore"? Maybe a launch landed with a quiet thud. Or maybe that fear is the exact reason you keep putting off creating a digital offer in the first place. Before you decide the moment for digital offers has passed, listen to this one. Inside the episode I share what actually changed in the online yoga world, and why the way most yoga teachers learned to sell digital offers quietly stopped working. I also get honest about what happened in my own business when my signature program started getting harder to sell, and the two things that were really going on underneath it. Then I walk through the one shift that makes a digital offer sell again, and the single question worth asking before you build anything at all. Plus why the demand for what you do is bigger than ever, even if it looks completely different from a few years ago, and why yoga teachers are actually early to this, not late. If you have ever wondered whether it is simply too late to sell online, this episode is your answer. Here's What I'd Do to Add $1,000 to My Monthly Income As A Yoga Teacher

What would you actually do if your goal was to add $1,000 a month to your income, online, without teaching a single extra studio class or private? That's the exact question I'm answering in this episode. Because an extra thousand dollars a month is genuinely life changing for so many yoga teachers, and it's also the doorway to everything that comes after it. But how you go about it matters enormously, and most teachers reach for the option that quietly keeps them stuck. I'm walking through the different ways you could get there, including the two most people try first, and why they so often lead to lopsided months and a lot of stress. Then I'll show you the approach I'd actually choose if I were starting today, the numbers that make it feel doable instead of overwhelming, and the simple system running quietly in the background that turns it into steady, consistent income. If you've been wondering where to even begin, this is the episode I'd want you to hear first. Is the Fear of Selling Keeping Your Yoga Business Small?

Do you have something you could sell right now? A course you created a while ago, a workshop recording, a small offer sitting quietly on your website. And every time you think about actually promoting it, something stops you. In this episode, I'm getting into what's really behind that silence. Because for so many yoga teachers, the online business doesn't fail, it just quietly goes to sleep while the in-person schedule takes over. And the reason has nothing to do with your audience size, the algorithm, or your offer. I'm walking you through the three mindset blocks that keep yoga teachers from selling, what avoiding the sale is actually costing you, and the reframe that changes how selling feels. If your online business has been on pause for months or even years, this episode might be the nudge you've been waiting for.
