Downtown Kingman Street Closures Set for First Friday

The City of Kingman is notifying residents and motorists of temporary street closures in downtown Kingman for the First Friday event taking place on Friday, September 4, 2026. Street closures will be in effect from 2:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and will include a full-width hard closure of Beale Street between 1st Street and 6th Street. The closure will extend curb-to-curb and will be reserved for pedestrian traffic and event staff to help provide a safe environment for attendees. Yavapai College Soccer Looks Ahead After Tough Losses

Jill Jones scored an unassisted goal within the first eight minutes of the match. Jones had three shots on goal and one each for Eliza Palmer and Nataly Arangure. The Phoenix Fire Department commemorated its 140th anniversary Tuesday morning with a celebratory event honoring generations of firefighters who have served the community since the days of horse‑drawn apparatus. City leaders, department officials, and members of Local 493 gathered at Historic Fire Station 8 to reflect on the department’s legacy and its continued evolution. Yavapai County Announces Work Along Mingus Avenue

Send us a text and chime in! Please be advised that Yavapai County will be performing survey work on Mingus Avenue between Rocking Chair Ranch Road and 18th Street. Work will begin on September 9, 2026, at 9:00 AM and will conclude at 3:00 PM that same day. One lane of traffic will remain open at all times; however, motorists may encounter pilot cars, lane restrictions, lane shifts, reduced speeds, and flagging operations throughout the work zones. Prescott Valley Police Offer Free Fraud Prevention Class

Send us a text and chime in! The Prescott Valley Police Department (PVPD) is committed to reducing crime and the fear of crime in our community. As part of this effort, PVPD is offering a free class to help residents learn about current fraud trends, understand common scams, and recognize when they may be targeted by fraudsters. The next class is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 11am at 7601 E Skoog Blvd, Prescott Valley, Arizona. It will be held in the PVPD training room to the right of the main lobby doors. The class is about an hour with time at the end for questions. No reservations are necessary; doors open around 10:45am. This class is open to anyone 18 and older, as childcare will not be provided. Prescott National Forest Begins Road Surface Upgrades

This essential project will target a 1.5-mile stretch of the road located off Thumb Butte Road within the Bradshaw Ranger District.
