Prescott Valley Police Are Hiring New Officers

Send us a text and chime in! The Prescott Valley Police Department (PVPD) is looking for outstanding, motivated people to serve as police officers. The PVPD is a rapidly growing agency in a vibrant, growing community and offers job opportunities in specialized units, such bike patrol, traffic enforcement, school resource officers, SWAT, K9, and Drug Enforcement. We also offer medical and dental benefits, tuition reimbursement, take home vehicles, and work/life balance. PVPD will be hosting its next test date on Saturday, November 15 at 9am at 7601 East Skoog Blvd. in Prescott Valley. Attendance at this testing event is by invitation only. Once your application is submitted, a background investigator will contact you to obtain your form ID number, send you documents, and schedule you for testing. Prescott Emergency Communications Earns National Honor

The Prescott Regional Communications Center (PRCC) has earned third place nationwide in T-Mobile’s Innovation in Community competition, receiving national recognition for an innovative approach designed to strengthen emergency communications and improve connectivity for first responders throughout the region. PRCC serves a geographically diverse area covering approximately 5,254 square miles, where rugged mountains, remote locations and vast distances can create significant challenges for traditional communications infrastructure. To help address those challenges, PRCC developed an innovative solution that brings together T-Mobile’s cellular network, Starlink satellite connectivity and Aurelian. The project is designed to help overcome geographic barriers, expand communications coverage and provide first responders with more reliable connectivity in areas where conventional systems may be limited. For emergency responders working in remote and difficult terrain, reliable communication is more than a convenience. It can be a critical link to dispatchers, responding agencies and the resources needed during an emergency. Earning third place among entries from across the nation highlights PRCC’s continued commitment to identifying practical, forward-thinking solutions to the unique public safety challenges faced by the communities it serves. This achievement represents local innovation earning national recognition while helping build a stronger and more resilient future for public safety throughout the region. Prescott Valley Police Announce Free November Class

The Prescott Valley Police Community Services Unit will host the NRA-certified “Refuse to be a Victim” program on Monday, November 16, 2026, from 1-4pm in the Prescott Valley Police Department Training Room at 7601 E Skoog Blvd. This free community class is open to any quad city resident age 18 years and older (limited to 50 attendees). Registration fills up fast for these classes, make sure to sign up early! To enroll, send an email to Police Community Services Supervisor Jodi Mullins at mullins@prescottvalley-az.gov . In the email, please include the following information for EACH person you are enrolling: name, address, email, and phone number. Registration is open now until November 12, unless capacity is reached sooner. This in-depth program is designed to give residents relevant tools to prevent them from becoming victims of fraud or other crimes and to change their mindset as they go through their daily routines. The tools provided can be adapted for every age group and every ability level. SR 89A Repairs Underway After Oak Creek Canyon Flooding

Send us a text and chime in! Crews from the Arizona Department of Transportation have begun making repairs to flood-damaged sections of SR 89A in Oak Creek Canyon. The highway was closed Sunday, Nov. 1, as heavy rainfall in the region caused Oak Creek to rise above flood stage, undermining portions of the roadway, exposing guardrail supports and causing other infrastructure damage. ADOT crews continue to clear debris such as boulders, rocks, mud and fallen trees and are now engaged in the repairs needed to make the highway safe for travel. There is no estimated time for completion. The highway remains closed between the Owenby Way roundabout...
