Why I’ve Been Away: My Burnout and Business Comeback
Why did I disappear for over a year? I thought £10k months meant I’d made it, until chasing them nearly broke me. In 2025 I was running three huge group coaching programmes, often working 6am to 11pm and posting content about ‘Big money months’ that didn’t feel like me. I was snapping at the people I love, dreading Sunday nights again, and ended up in tears in my GP’s office, signed off for eight weeks. This is the warts-and-all story of my burnout, the coach who told me “business is business”, and how I slowly rebuilt myself and my business on my own terms. I’m sharing everything I learned along the way, from deregistering for VAT and finding my f*ck yeah compass to simplifying my offers and finally emailing my list again. Whether you’re just starting out or years in, these are the lessons I wish I’d known sooner. I never once thought my business was over. And I’m thrilled to be back! “I started chasing somebody else’s version of success.”– Lauren You'll hear about: Chasing someone else’s version of success Red flags of a controlling coach Recognising burnout before it’s too late Why deregistering from VAT eased pressure Using values to rediscover who you are Setting working hours around family life Stripping back to three simple offers Getting back out there after time away Why your email list hasn’t forgotten you Setting money goals without burning out Checking your support still feels right Telling your story in your own voice My resources: Insta: @laurenleopoldthecoach - https://www.instagram.com/laurenleopoldthecoach Nicola Pye: https://www.instagram.com/nicolapye.theleadershipcoach/
