84. More Isn't Better

I caught myself doing the exact thing I tell clients not to do. Mid client rebrand, adding another colour, another font, a few more icons, and every single one felt like an improvement at the time. Then I stepped back and went… oh. This episode’s about why we all default to adding, and what it’s costing you. What we get into: * The moment I realised I’d have to cut hours of work (and why I was lucky) * The Lego bridge experiment that explains why your brain never offers “remove” as an option * Why the thing you’re proudest of is the thing paying the price If any of this is hitting a nerve, my Brand Roast is now a self-assessment! You go through it yourself, privately, and it shows you what’s actually doing a job in your brand and what’s just sitting there → studiocoya.com/roast ====================== 🍞 Want your offer to stop getting overlooked? 83. Big Fish Energy with Hannah Isted

This week’s chat with Hannah is all about Big Fish Energy, the mindset she’s been building for the last 18 months that took her from sitting on ideas to speaking at Atomicon, running the London Marathon, and going solo camping at a festival. We get into what a big fish goal actually is, why naming your thing changes what’s possible, and the tiny confidence reps that build up to the bigger wins. What we get into: * Why naming your concept, offer, or mindset makes it feel real (and how Big Fish Energy came about) * Using jealousy to help you actually figure out what your big fish goals are * The one question to ask yourself in any moment you’re about to shrink back About Hannah: Hannah Isted is the founder of HI Communications and the author of The Best 90 Days Ever. She’s been running her business for over 11 years, helping small business owners promote themselves in 10 minutes a day through her membership of the same name. She’s also the brain behind Big Fish Energy, a concept and upcoming programme all about not ruling yourself out and actually going for the goals you want. 82. What Happens When You Outgrow What You Sell?

This episode’s about the shift from calling myself a service to building a signature offer and what that meant for me. What we get into: * Why “I do branding” was really just what I did, not an offer for my clients * What changed the day Offer Oven got its own theme and world, not just a name * Where offer branding actually shows up, sales pages, proposals, DMs, screenshots you’ll never see If this has you wondering whether your own offer needs branding, pop me a message, not every offer needs it, but it’s worth figuring out which one of yours might → LET’S TALK! ====================== 🍞 Want your offer to stop getting overlooked? 81. PR, self-trust, and showing up as you with Melanie Whittaker

This week’s chat with Mel is all about visibility, PR, and showing up in your marketing as the person you actually are. We get into how she overcame her own fear of being seen, why the messy chapters of your story are the thing that makes you connective (not the polished bits), and the simple mind-mapping exercise she has clients do before every podcast interview. If you’ve been thinking about doing more PR this year, this one’s for you. What we get into: * Why the messy bits of your story (the divorce, the pivot, the moment you almost quit) are actually your PR gold * The three-day rule for duvet days, and how Mel keeps consistent when she’s not feeling it * The one exercise to do before every podcast interview so you don’t show up wooden and nervous About Mel: Melanie Whittaker is a Public Relations consultant. She helps people weave their story into their marketing. By widening the net she gets them featured on podcasts, magazines, newspapers and Digital TV. Your story is powerful and Melanie helps you share it with the world. 80. Unpacking my ooooh series: offer branding choices that make people stop scrolling

Recently I ran a series on Instagram: A List of Things That Made Me Go Ooooh About Your Offer Branding with four editions covering colour, theming, imagery, and typography. This episode is me unpacking WHY each of those choices actually work. Because “ooh” is never an accident, it always comes from a decision made on purpose. The 4 editions: * Colour edition * Theming edition * Imagery edition * Typography edition If you want your offer branded so it makes strangers go ooooh too, the Offer Oven is the seven-day sprint that builds it → BRAND YOUR OFFER HERE 🍞 ====================== 🍞 Want your offer to stop getting overlooked? 79. Scaling with one signature offer with Shannon Matson

This week I got to chat with Shannon Matson from The Social Bungalow. Shannon is full of practical wisdom on building a signature offer that can actually hold the weight of your whole business. She went from juggling six different courses to running one main offer that brings in 70% of her revenue, and in this episode she breaks down exactly how she got there. We get into how to test a new offer without burning out, when to add new offers to your suite, and why most offer suites are missing the most obvious next step. What we get into: * Why one signature offer can outperform six courses, and how to make the switch without losing your current clients * The alpha-beta-gamma method for testing a new offer * The buffet versus fine dining analogy to reframe how you think about your offer suite About Shannon: Shannon Matson is a former corporate VP of Marketing turned 8-figure entrepreneur, speaker, and founder of The Social Bungalow, where she helps entrepreneurs build standout online businesses through stronger offers, messaging, and sales strategy. Today, she has helped more than 2,500 entrepreneurs transform their expertise into standout signature offers, grow more profitable online brands, and build companies designed to truly feel like they’ve made it. 78. Why people don’t buy your offer (even if they want it)

In this one I’m walking through why an unbranded offer is basically a whole uncut watermelon at a hotel buffet. People know it’s there. They have no idea what to do with it. So they go for the apple instead. What we get into: * Why putting more spotlight on your offer doesn’t actually fix this * My own story selling generic branding and watching people pick the easier offer instead * What branding actually does to your offer (it’s the chopping, arranging, the whole carving job) * The bit where your clients can finally describe your offer to their friends with specifics * A few questions to ask yourself this week if you think your offer’s still a whole watermelon BRAND YOUR OFFER HERE 🍞 ====================== 🍞 Want your offer to stop getting overlooked? 77. Building a business that works with your menstrual cycle with Morín Glimmer

This week’s chat with Morín completely shifted how I think about working with my own body inside my business. We get into why she became a “brand strategist for the cyclical future of work,” how the four phases of the menstrual cycle map onto the seasons of nature, and why she believes the missing piece of every brand strategy is the body itself. The whole episode is full of the kind of gentle reframes that quietly change how you show up in your business. What we get into: * The four phases of the menstrual cycle and how to actually sync your work to them * Why rest is a resource, not a reward you earn after pushing through * Why your body is the capacity your business runs on (and what happens when you ignore it) About Morín: Morín Glimmer is a London-based feminist brand strategist and founder of Rosy Futures, a practice working at the intersection of brand, body, and business. Drawing on 15 years of brand development and over 30 years of living with PMDD, she helps feminist founders build identity-led brand foundations that hold, and uses cyclical living principles as an operational methodology in business. She co-hosts the podcast Wombly Being with Rosannah Jones, and her longer-term work is pointed toward rebuilding workplaces and economic structures around cyclical bodies, not against them. 76. Your offer has to win YOU over first

In this episode, we’re talking about why magnetism flows owner → client, and the simple “taste tests” to tell if your offer branding is actually pulling its weight. What I get into: * Why most people brand their offer in the wrong order (outward first vs inward first) * How magnetism works for your offer * What “magnetic to you” looks like in practice (name, visuals, language, vibe) Want a second pair of eyes on your offer? I’m doing free Brand Roasts! You fill in a quick form and I’ll send you a private video breakdown of what’s working, what’s missing, and where the magnetism might be leaking out. 75. Boundaries, blind spots, and pricing with Shannon Mattern

This week's chat with Shannon is full of the kind of wisdom you only get from doing it the hard way first. We get into how she built the Web Designer Academy after a rough year of freelancing, why her brand was born from one rude comment in a WordPress forum, and how she thinks about boundaries, mentors, and the one pricing mistake she sees experienced designers make over and over. The pricing reframe alone is worth a listen. What we get into: * How to think about boundaries as guidelines for yourself, not punishments for your clients * The difference between a coach who shows you more of you, and one who turns you into a copy of them * The pricing reframe that flipped how I think about charging (clients aren’t buying you, they’re investing in themselves through you) About Shannon: Shannon Mattern is the founder of the Web Designer Academy which provides strategic pricing, sales and business coaching for women web designers. She’s also the host of the Profitable Web Designer podcast where she shares pricing strategies, mindset shifts and behind-the-scenes stories to help women web designers stop overdelivering, raise prices, and create the freedom and income they desire.
