In 2024 he was Named Texas Fire Instructor of The Year by the Texas Association of Fire Educators. In both public and private sector, Ryan has investigated fire & explosion incidents, trained the next generation of firefighters and investigators, and worked to strengthen the profession through education and leadership. Ryan holds the prestigious IAAI-CFI and NAFI-CFEI designations and is a credentialed Fire Marshal throught the Commision on Professional Credentialing. He serves on the Board of Directors for the NJ Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators, and continues to teach throughout the state for Fire Training & Consultants.
