About the show

I'm finally back with my 4th season! After a long break to take time for my mental health and healing, I'm back because, now more than ever, how important the connection we have is. Our network of artists, makers, creatives, visionaries and guides that spans across the globe is exactly what we need at this moment of time. As always, I'm showing up as myself, raw, authentic, a bit sassy and with a whole lot of love. Now, even less polished as I'm running the show without a producer. This should be interesting. You can expect a lot of speaking off the cuff and from the heart mixed with creativity and the ins and outs of building a course creator business. I'll be bringing on new and old guests for deep discussions. And new this season - a more detailed look behind the scenes of how I build my multi-six figure art course business plus I'll be hosting roundtable discussions with the audience! Artists are carrying a lot right now. Burnout. Pressure. Perfectionism. The feeling that you have to do business a certain way in order to succeed online. In this episode of the Made Remarkable podcast, I sit down with artist, teacher, and Create to Breathe founder, Tish Reed, for a deeply honest conversation about creativity, motherhood, mental health, community, teaching art online, and building a business that actually fits your life.Tish shares how she walked away from art for years after becoming a mother, the depression and creative disconnection that followed, and the powerful moment that brought her back to painting. What It Takes to Be a Great Art Teacher in Today’s World with Colleen Attara (#148)

Artists and creators don’t just make things. We carry things. We process, we hold, we try to make sense of a world that often feels too heavy. In this episode, I’m sitting down with Colleen Attara, one of the most impactful teachers I’ve ever experienced, to talk about what really happens inside a creative space that feels safe, honest, and alive. This is a conversation about: what it means to be a teaching artist beyond just technique  why making art in community hits differently than doing it alone  how creativity becomes a way to come back to yourself after burnout  the role of vulnerability in both art and teaching  and why gathering, creating, and expressing yourself is not frivolous… it’s necessary We also get into the behind-the-scenes of Colleen’s workshops, her philosophy on teaching, and how something as simple as being seen can completely shift the way you create. If you’ve been feeling disconnected from your art… if you’ve questioned whether what you’re doing even matters… or if you know you’re meant to share your creativity with others but don’t know how…this episode will inspire you to remember who you are when you’re allowed to create freely. It only happens once a year - The remarkable FREE experience starts July 23rd! Stop Blending In: The Power of Teaching Your Art as Your Full Self with Becky Joan Springer (#147)

Artists and creators don’t build powerful businesses by playing it safe. They build them by telling the truth. In this episode, I’m joined by artist and teacher Becky Joan Springer, and this is one of those conversations that goes deeper than strategy. We talk about what it really looks like to build a business rooted in your identity, your values, and your lived experience, even when that comes with risk.Becky shares her journey from academia and advocacy work into the world of art, and how returning to creativity quite literally helped her rebuild her life. We talk about grief, rejection, healing, and the role art plays in bringing people back to themselves. But we also go into what most people avoid saying out loud: the fear of being seen, the backlash that can come with it, and why it’s still worth it.This conversation is about more than art. It’s about creating spaces where people feel safe, building a business that reflects who you actually are, and understanding that when you stop trying to appeal to everyone, you finally start connecting with the right people. If you’ve been holding back, softening your voice, or trying to make your work more “acceptable,” this episode will challenge that. You don’t need to be for everyone. You need to be fully yourself. It only happens once a year - The remarkable FREE experience starts July 23rd! Create Your Purpose: Why Meaning Matters More Than Hustle, with Quinn Tempest (#146)

This episode is a personal one.I’m talking about purpose with Guest Quinn Tempest. Not the kind you sit around waiting to discover, but the kind you build. The kind you create by showing up, paying attention, and slowly realizing what still matters enough to keep going. After everything that shifted in 2024, I’ve had to reexamine what is true, what no longer fits, and what I’m still here to do. In this season of my life and business, I know with more clarity than ever that purpose is not passive. It’s something we shape through our choices, our creativity, and the work we decide is worth continuing. In this conversation with Quinn Tempest we talk about creating purpose instead of trying to “find” it, why that idea matters so much right now, and how we build meaningful work in a world that keeps trying to push us toward noise, speed, and performance. If you’ve been questioning what you’re here to do, how to reconnect with your work, or whether your next chapter can be built with more intention, this episode is for you.You can find Quinn Tempest on Instagram and her WebsiteIt only happens once a year - The remarkable FREE experience starts July 23rd! From Side Project to Real Business: Why Investing in Your Art Business Changes Everything with Ruth Ander (#145)

In this episode, I’m joined by printmaker and teacher Ruth Ander, an artist who proves you don’t need a press, a studio, or a “proper setup” to make stunning work.We talk about how Ruth found printmaking, why she chose the path that felt right even when teachers told her not to, and how making at home gave her creative freedom.Ruth breaks down her process in a way that makes you want to clear off your kitchen table and start. Roll out a little paint. Pull a print. See what happens. But we also talk about what shifts when you decide your art is more than a side project. When you’re willing to invest time, energy, and resources into building something sustainable. When you move from hoping it works to treating it like it matters.Ruth shares what changed when she stopped holding back and started building her art course business with intention. Her free event Make Your Mark begins February 27, Register HERE and Hand Printing Happiness opens next week, WAITLIST!Say Hi to Ruth on InstagramIt only happens once a year - The remarkable FREE experience starts July 23rd! Creative Business Without Hustle: Art, Community, and Being Enough with Jayne Emerson (#144)

After a long pause, I’m returning with conversations about what creativity is actually for. Not just how to grow faster or sell more, but why making matters in the first place. In this episode, I sit down with UK textile artist and founder of No Rules Textile Society, Jayne Emerson. We talk about building a creative business without hustle, choosing depth over scale and creating something sustainable instead of chasing constant expansion.Jayne shares how she moved from quietly selling textile samples to major fashion houses to openly teaching her methods and building a membership rooted in permission and play. We talk about “following the fizz,” turning perceived flaws into strengths, and why your art practice has to become non-negotiable if you want your business to feel aligned. If you’re an artist or creative educator who wants a business that supports your life instead of consuming it, this episode will resonate. You can connect with Jayne Here:Website: https://jayneemerson.co.uk/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jayneemersontextiles/No Rules Society: https://www.norulestextilesociety.com/Shout out to Aimee Stammers for the phrase "Follow the Fizz"!It only happens once a year - The remarkable FREE experience starts July 23rd! What it Really Takes to be a Good Teacher as an Art Course Creator - a Heart-to-Heart with Susan Yeates (#142)

What does it really take to be a good art teacher? In this episode, I’m talking with Susan Yates about what it means to teach from lived experience rather than performative expertise. Susan and I have a heart to heart over the experience of being an instructor and being the student again. This is an amazing discussion we haven't really had on the podcast before. We talk about the pressures to have it all figured out, why artists often feel like frauds when they step into the role of teacher, what makes a great video lesson and how important it is to reconnect with your own creativity to keep your cup full. We both agree that teaching in-person makes you better overall as an art instructor and talk about specific lessons we've learned from our students over the years. This conversation is honest, gentle, and full of the reminders we all need: your art matters, your practice is valid, and the best teaching starts with being true to yourself. If you’re a course creator, art educator, or thinking about stepping into teaching someday, this one will speak right to your heart.Learn More about Susan's New Course - Tiny MomentsConnect on Instagram @susanyeatesartistWatch on YouTube SusanYeatesArtistIt only happens once a year - The remarkable FREE experience starts July 23rd! How I’m Balancing Creativity and Business and Questions About Pricing that Every Course Creator Needs to Ask (#141)

In this “Work in Progress” episode, I share my behind-the-scenes updates about life and business, including a powerful experience I had while taking an in-person workshop with other creative women. I opens up about balancing my roles as an artist and creative business coach, the lessons I'm bringing back to my community, and why I now believe that nurturing your own creativity matters as much as building your business.I also dive into a practical, eye-opening discussion on pricing by unpacking the key questions to ask before you price an offer, including its purpose, audience, and sales strategy. You’ll hear real insights from conversations inside my coaching programs about AI, creative inspiration, business models, and how to make aligned decisions as you grow. This is a grounded, encouraging episode for anyone building an art course business and a reminder that you can design success on your own terms.Check out Colleen Attara's Workshops HERE!It only happens once a year - The remarkable FREE experience starts July 23rd!
