44. Breathworker or energy healer? The rituals you DON'T see

By the time you walk into one of my breathwork journeys, so much has already happened in that room that you will never see... but I'll bet you can feel it. This week I'm pulling back the curtain on the part of my work that isn't in any certification or training, and is rarely spoken about out loud: the energetics. I'm taking you fully behind the scenes into the energetic rituals and practices I move through before you arrive, while you breathe, and long after you've gone home... the invisible work that shapes everything you feel in the room. This one feels tender to share, because it's me owning my work as a healer, not just a facilitator. In this episode I'm sharing: ✨ Why the breathwork techniques and science are only half of what's really happening in a journey with me ✨ The unseen energetic work I move through long before a single person walks through the door that influences your entire experience ✨ How I hold and protect my own energy so that I can safely hold yours ✨ What I'm actually doing energetically while your eyes are closed and you’re in the middle of your breathwork journey ✨ The rituals I move through to close and clear the session once you've gone home and why they matter so much ✨ What I've finally come to understand about what my true medicine actually is... and why it's so much more than breathwork REFERENCED IN THIS EPISODE: Elaine Sarah Leek, energy healer @elainesarahleek_ I'd love to connect with you about this episode! 43. 4 ways to start feeling your feelings (not just understanding them)

Every emotion that moves through you is trying to tell you something. But most of us learned a long time ago to talk ourselves out of listening. We live in our heads. We analyse the feeling instead of having it, we explain it away, push through and get on with the day. And because that works for a while (and because we're often praised for it) we don't notice what it's costing us. But emotions are designed to guide us. Each one carries information about what matters to us, what we need and what has to change. When we override them, that guidance doesn't reach us, and the emotion itself doesn't disappear. It gets stored. This is how you end up wondering where your vitality went. Why everything feels heavy, flat, vaguely off, and why you're so tired. And often it's how you end up with symptoms, an abnormal test result or a diagnosis that seems to arrive out of nowhere… it's your body having to get very loud to get your attention. In this episode I'm sharing four practical and simple ways to start reconnecting with your emotions, especially if feeling them is not something you're used to or particularly good at yet. In this episode I'm sharing: ✨ Why emotions are physical events happening in your body rather than thoughts happening in your head, and why that distinction changes everything about how you approach them ✨ How emotions move like waves, what happens when we cut them off before they peak, and how staying with one long enough is what lets you receive the message it came to give you ✨ Why emotional regulation is not the same thing as staying calm, and what it actually is ✨ The difference between genuinely feeling something in your body vs your head, which is where a lot of high-achieving, intellectual women stay stuck for years without realising ✨ Some journal prompts to uncover what you learnt about emotions as a child, which ones you were allowed to have, and how those early rules are still shaping the way you feel today Resources & Links: Download your FREE 10 Minute Breath Reset and find calm again within minutes Learn about my upcoming in-person events in Melbourne on Eventbrite Subscribe to the Podcast so you don’t miss an episode Follow me on Instagram @therachelbale

42. Living on the front lawn: How we learn to leave our bodies

Do you actually live inside your body? Or have you spent years living outside it, watching yourself the way everyone else does? For most of us, that's a genuinely hard question to answer. So many of us learned, very early, to exist from the neck up and to live in our heads rather than in our bodies, because somewhere along the way we got the message that being in our bodies wasn't safe. Instead, we were praised for the opposite. For being easy, mature, and suppressing what we felt and needed. And piece by piece, we learned to leave ourselves. In this episode, I'm sharing an analogy that completely changed how I think about this, one that makes it so clear how so many of us have quietly moved out of our own bodies over time, learning to see and evaluate ourselves from the outside rather than within. It's the lens I want to use to kick off a deeper conversation about self-objectification, body image, and what it actually costs us to live disconnected from ourselves in this way. Because this is what self-objectification really is: internalising someone else's gaze until it starts to feel like your own. And once that shift happens, it touches everything: how safe we feel in our own skin, how we experience hunger, rest and pleasure, and how we relate to others (but most importantly, ourselves). In this episode you’ll learn: ✨ The house analogy (from embodiment psychologist Hillary McBride) that makes self-objectification click instantly, and what it means to live ‘on the front lawn’ of your own body instead of inside it ✨ Why so many of us learned, very young, that living fully in our bodies wasn't safe and how we got praised for leaving ✨ The moment self-objectification usually begins for girls (often as early as 9 or 10 now) and why puberty is the seismic shift point ✨ How covert messaging through culture and media quietly teaches us to adopt an outside observer's eyes as our own ✨ The real, often serious costs of this: disconnection from sensation, bodily cues, emotions and in more severe cases, depression, disordered eating, and self-harm Resources & Links: Download your FREE 10 Minute Breath Reset and find calm again within minutes Learn about my upcoming in-person events in Melbourne on Eventbrite Subscribe to the Podcast so you don’t miss an episode Follow me on Instagram @therachelbale

41. The boundaries conversation needs to change.

Most standard boundary advice FAILS because it ignores your nervous system. The truth is, boundary work is not just about 'communication skills' or 'willpower' – it's about healing your nervous system so that it can safely support your authentic yes and no. In this episode: Why 'just say no' DOESN'T WORK (because your nervous system drives your boundaries not your willpower) How your unique boundary style (rigid or loose) is a direct reflection of your nervous system state and attachment wounds The specific nervous system response that drives people-pleasing behaviour My personal experience with loose or non-existent boundaries and why I view autoimmunity as the ultimate teacher when it comes to boundary work Somatic practices and tools to begin connecting with your physical and energetic boundaries and learning to sense what a 'yes' and 'no' feels like in your body REAL-TIME REGULATION™ IS AVAILABLE NOW! 40. Why healing your nervous system threatens the status quo

The uncomfortable truth about how our society actually profits from your burnout and chronic stress. This eye-opening episode is not just about wellness – it’s about power, economics, and why healing your nervous system might be the most politically revolutionary act you can take. In this episode, I’m exposing: Why your exhaustion isn't a personal failing – it's a deliberate feature of an economic system that profits from your burnout How chronic stress keeps you too depleted to question, too busy to resist, and too drained to demand change The invisible ways you're being manipulated to override your body's wisdom and ignore your own needs Why healing your nervous system is your most powerful act of resistance in a world designed to keep you disempowered JOIN THE REAL-TIME REGULATION WAITLIST Coming soon: A completely new approach to stress management that works in real time, real life. 39. The dark side of being 'good under pressure'

Do you pride yourself on being ‘good under pressure’? What if I told you that what feels like a strength might actually be a repetitive stress response in disguise? In this eye-opening episode, I'm diving deep into why so many of us have built our identities around thriving in high-pressure situations – and what's really happening in our bodies when we do. In this episode I'm sharing: The biochemical reason why we become ‘addicted’ to pressure (and the hormonal cocktail that keeps us coming back for more) Why your ability to handle anything thrown at you might have deeper roots than you realise The subtle ways this pattern shows up in daily life The hidden cost of constantly operating in the ‘red zone’ Why the goal is not to be calm all the time (& what is instead) JOIN THE REAL-TIME REGULATION WAITLIST Coming this March: A completely new approach to stress management that works in real time, real life. 38. You don't need more self-care time to feel less stressed

Let's be honest. Trying to combat stress by scheduling more self-care just doesn't work for your real life. Most generic stress advice tells you to schedule more 'me-time', do more yoga, or start a meditation practice (like you have the time). But what if the secret to managing stress isn't about finding more time (because let's be real, where would that even come from?) but by about learning how to listen and respond to your body in the moment? In this powerful episode, we're busting the self-care myth and diving into what your body needs from you instead. I'm sharing: Why most of us have been conditioned to ignore our body's unique stress signals (and how this now shows up in our lives in sneaky ways) The real reason generic stress advice keeps falling flat and you can't seem to get your stress levels under control How to start recognising your personal stress patterns, including some surprising signals you might be missing Why being physically active or into wellness doesn't automatically mean you're connected to your body and know how to listen to it The real reason you're disconnected from your body's wisdom (it started way before adulthood) What some of my own unique stress signals look like and how they differ from my husband's JOIN THE REAL-TIME REGULATION WAITLIST Coming this March: A completely new approach to stress management that works in real time, real life. We've normalised mum stress to the point where anxiety, overwhelm, and constant tension feel like just another part of motherhood - especially during the holidays.
