Welcome to King of the Ride podcast, hosted by Ted King. A professional road cyclist turned gravel racer... err, rider? I still have that competitive bug now 20+ years into my professional racing career, but poking around the overarching cycling community is what piques my interest. Slinging maple syrup (hello UnTapped !), leading rides, hosting camps, and just enjoying life on two wheels, I have the chance to chat with athletes, entrepreneurs, and all walks of life who love the bicycle. Episode 183: Michael Barry is a Cyclist, Through and Through

The thread of the bicycle is what ties all our guests together, here on King of the Ride podcast. The thread of the bicycle has been woven through virtually all aspects of Michael Barry's life. His father was a cyclist and made that his profession, his wife is an accomplished professional cyclist, his son Ashlin is one of America's biggest talents coming through the ranks. Michael raced on some of the biggest teams during his time in the pro ranks, he now runs a bicycle brand, Mariposa Bicycles . He's an author to at least three books and has contributed articles to many publications during his time on two wheels. Records are meant to be broken and our two guests today will likely be holding on their titles for a while now. John Keller just took the outright record in the cycling event up the hallowed 7.6 mile climb to the highest peak in New England. Often called "one of the hardest climbs on the planet", just six days prior, Scott Speed set the best time in a car. You might remember Scott as a guest way way back in episode 14!
