Leadership Insights: Navigating Change and Inclusion with Matthew Beckford and Devin McElhenny

Devin McElhenny and Matthew Beckford dive into the nuances of leadership in today's rapidly evolving corporate landscape. They discuss emerging trends such as leveraging technology for learning and development, investing in manager training, and embracing micro-learning approaches. Through engaging conversations and real-life anecdotes, they provide valuable perspectives for leaders seeking to drive positive change and foster inclusive environments in their organizations.About Matthew Beckford:Matthew has worked as a consultant, advisor and coach both in house and in consulting across the fields of Talent and Leadership Development, Diversity and Inclusion and Organisational Development. Coaching, for Matthew is a co-created process, he works with the aim of getting clear on priorities and then accelerating their progress towards their goals. Coaching is all about helping you manage your attention, to be aware of the beliefs and behaviours which distract you, what stories and narratives you have which get in the way of making the progress you want to make with your work and life. Its about exploring the system in which you are operating in and understanding where you have power and where you do not. Coaching is NOT about you getting the 'right' answers from someone else, this process is about you recognising what you do already deeply know and having the courage and support to act in ways that will serve where you want to be in the future. At times this can make the process uncomfortable, difficult and confrontational. It can also make the process fun, insightful and enriching. All of these things can be equally true. Coaching is a process to support you in living up to your potential.Matthew is an active member of the UK’s Leadership and Talent club and wasfeaturedon a panel hosted by Transcend International on Diversity and Inclusion in Coaching in Aug 2022.About Devin McElhenny:Devin started her career as a buyer at J.Crew, channeling her ability to bring order to chaos and her love of self-expression through fashion. Driven by her passion for understanding human behavior, she made a career pivot and got her master’s degree in Applied Psychology at NYU. It was during her time at NYU that a fire was lit within her as she learned about the transformative power of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Devin became fascinated by how intentionally creating inclusive environments & equitable programs can unlock innovation and drive meaningful change. Devin found her way from fashion to the world of indoor farming, where she discovered the right blend of innovation, sustainability, and community impact. Today, she leads the charge in DEI and Learning & Development at Bowery Farming. Bowery’s mission is to revolutionize the way we grow and distribute food, ensuring that fresh, healthy produce is accessible to all while reducing our environmental footprint. Devin has witnessed the real impact that equitable programs and leadership development can have on a person’s life. Seeing individuals flourish, teams thrive, and organizations reach new heights is what energizes Devin the most.Connect with Matthew Beckford:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/matthew-beckford/Connect with Devin McElhenny:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/devin-mcelhenny-b3ab5a14/Check out Forefront:https://www.forefrontby100coaches.com/LinkedIn: Forefront PageConnect with host, Tina Parker:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tpsunshine
