Why Imposter Syndrome Makes You Overwork — and How to Stop

Feeling like an imposter? Here’s the truth so many forget: It’s not about your experience or your skills — it’s how you show up in your own mind. I recently had a conversation about imposter syndrome, and what struck me is how often we overcompensate to fill that gap of self-doubt. We work extra hours, push ourselves harder, and then expect the same from others. When they don’t deliver, resentment builds. And if we pull back to protect ourselves, guilt hits. But here’s the real shift: self-care and boundaries aren't selfish. They’re necessary. Caring for yourself, taking actions that align with your true values, doesn’t mean you’re ego-driven or unkind. It means you’re grounded. You don’t have to prove your worth through overdoing. Show up honest — just as you are, with confidence in your skills and your authenticity. That’s enough. Worth reflecting on: Are you over-giving because of self-doubt, or because you’re genuinely showing up for your well-being? The long game is kinder and more sustainable. Less burnout, more clarity. Trust yourself enough to step back and just be. In the Presence of Harry Styles: A Lesson in Space, Safety, and Shared Humanity

What started as a spontaneous decision to attend a Harry Styles concert turned into something far more profound. In this episode, I share an unexpected experience that shifted how I understand connection, safety, and what it truly means to “hold space” for others. From observing the crowd to reflecting on my own journey as a yoga teacher, this conversation explores how collective environments can foster healing, presence, and belonging in a world that often feels divided. What You’ll Hear in This Episode: Why I almost didn’t go to the concert—and why I’m so glad I did What surprised me most about the crowd (and what felt completely different from concerts I grew up with) The concept of “holding space” and how it showed up on a massive scale How this experience connected to my work as a yoga teacher and coach The importance of feeling safe in shared spaces—especially as a woman Why moments of collective connection matter more than ever right now How we can bring this sense of openness and presence into our everyday lives Key Takeaways: This isn’t just about music or fandom. It’s about the environments we create—and how they allow people to soften, connect, and be fully themselves. When we feel safe, we show up differently. And when we show up differently, we create the potential for deeper connection, both individually and collectively. Notable Reflection: Sometimes the most meaningful experiences are the ones we don’t plan for. And sometimes, the spaces that seem ordinary on the surface hold the greatest potential to change how we see ourselves—and each other. If This Resonated: Take a moment to reflect: where in your life do you feel truly safe to be yourself? And how can you begin to create that space for others? Why Your To-Do List is Failing Your Business

In the final installment of her "Back to Basics" series, Jaime dives into the foundational habits of effective time management for business owners. Moving beyond simple prioritization, this episode focuses on a tactical approach to using your calendar as an executive assistant to prevent burnout and ensure consistent growth. Key Takeaways Your Calendar is Your Assistant: Shift away from static to-do lists that get lost or ignored. Instead, schedule every task directly into your calendar to integrate it into your actual workflow. The "Energy-First" Schedule: Align your most cognitively demanding tasks, like strategic planning or complex proposals, with the times of day when your brain is most active. Save low-effort "admin" tasks for your natural energy slumps. Non-Negotiable Business Development: To avoid a "cash crunch" or a dry pipeline, dedicate a minimum of four to eight hours every week to business development and follow-ups. Consistency here is the key to long-term stability. Create Breathing Room: Over-scheduling leads to the loss of creativity. Intentionally block out "marination" time after meetings to digest information and take notes. Prioritize Well-being: Exercise and rest are not "low priority" items; they are "immovable CEO leadership time". Your business cannot thrive if you are operating on sleep deprivation and overwhelm. Book a Strategy Session: If you need help walking through your specific numbers and addressing any mindset blocks around pricing, you can book a one-off business strategy session with Jaime. http://practica.consulting/contact Learn More About the 6-Week Accelerator: https://www.practica.consulting/the-aligned-growth-accelerator
