This podcast will explore the world of the Irish entrepreneur, and engage with people making a difference. They’ll tell their stories, of how they got started, of what keeps them going, of betrayals, intrigue, surprises and setbacks. Join us this month for a wonderful chat with the amazing Máirín Murray Digital Innovator and Implementor, CEO of Digital Doddle, Co–founder of Tech for Good Dublin, and Founder of Tech FoundHer ! Máirín is a highly creative digital innovator with a passion for creating technical products that produce a positive social impact. She is a TEDx speaker and the co–founder of Tech for Good Dublin – an inclusive community of techies, activists and others which has been growing rapidly since it launched in 2017. Her latest venture : TechFoundHer is an ecosystem supporting women tech founders – current and future. We are on a mission to ensure women are using tech to create a new and better world. She has ambition targets to increase the number of women starting and leading tech companies. TechFoundHer began in Dublin in 2020 and while based in Ireland we are a global network. Everyone is welcome! Máirín has a keen interest in the ethical dimensions of technical innovations, particularly AI, and recently participated in the 100 Plus Brilliant Women in AI and Ethics gathering at Oxford University. She loves to connect people and is a keen supporter of startups focusing on social impact and been mentor, judge and participant at a number of hackathons. Máirín has particular expertise in developing educational digital campaigns, games, apps, animations, videos and ecourses, and has worked across the health, education and not–for–profit sectors. She has an MSC in Multimedia Systems from Trinity College Dublin and is a certified in Data Science, UX Design and project management. As a Senior Digital Content Producer at the BBC, she headed up the digital team for a UK wide youth inclusion service, BLAST. She is an enthusiastic and dynamic leader who is highly collaborative and has founded her own digital learning studio – Digital Doddle www.digitaldoddle.com. In Ireland 36% of women who stop breastfeeding cite concern regarding low supply as the main reason for discontinuing, in Germany the figure is 95%, and this unique and impactful innovative product is a game changer. From growing up on an army barracks Roseanne learned from her mother that women need financial independence and also that disciple and consistency are key elements to the calculated risk of being a successful entrepreneur. "Folk want to meet folk" Mike is a passionate community builder and network 'connector' who makes things happen - we follow his story from an obsession with synthesiser music which led to a spot on pirate radio. Happy New Year ! Meet Conor Sweeny, founder of DAE Ice cream - cracking start to 2024 - we delve into all sorts of deliciousness together. Conor taught himself to cook at 17 when he went vegetarian which opened a whole new world of opportunity. He began in a small cafe called Thyme out in Dalkey in 2016 and went on to complete a  bachelors degree from DIT (now TUD in culinary arts). During the first lockdown of Covid he was watching Tiger King (with the rest of the world) and eating  a tub of plant based ice cream. It was bad. Very bad. He thought to himself that he could do better. So it  began.  From there he has built a veritable empire of ice cream treats and is on the verge of a very exciting expansion. This month we meet the amazing Yvonne Reddin ! She dreamed of being a fashion designer but couldn't draw ! So she took up a career in hairdressing that took her across the globe to Australia but it was the stories she heard that sparked her dreams of being a writer. She came back to Ireland and started a journalism course that was the foundations of where her entrepreneurial journey has now taken her. We talk about being non conformists, taking risks, and about returning to education later in life. Patience and compassion for yourself are key to flourishing and surviving the undulations that life can hand you. Yvonne is honest and authentic throughout. She has published a book, "Talk, Learn, Connect" and is now a published Journalist and Content Creator and Writer. She is also a speaker at International Dublin Writer's Festival 2023. An Entrepreneur Like ... Ciaran O'Connor

In this month's podcast we meet an inspiring young entrepreneur, Ciaran O'Connor from North Dublin.  Ciaran started Soulfood kitchen while still at school running a pop up kitchen from his Ma's place in North Dublin - serving 458 meals at its peak - Ciaran became a trained chef and is now going on to represent Ireland at the Chef Olympics in 2024!  Ciaran's Soulfood Oats can be found in cafes everywhere and Centra.  Ciaran is a chef, a podcaster and an MMA fighter and an entrepreneur with big dreams - he wants to expand Soulfood Oats into a community based initiative so watch this space.
