She's Back! Dr. Riva Brown's NEW position with the American Red Cross

The American Red Cross Greater Arkansas Chapter has a new leader, and she brings a remarkable record of service and global impact. In this episode, we welcome Dr. Riva Brown, Executive Director of the Greater Arkansas Chapter, to talk about her humanitarian journey and vision for the Red Cross. Dr. Brown first connected with the Red Cross in 2023 when she deployed to Guam to assist with disaster relief following Typhoon Mawar. Her commitment was quickly recognized with the 2024 Outstanding New Board Member Award. Beyond her Red Cross service, she has traveled to Rwanda, Senegal, and Turkey, working on international development projects and was honored as Winrock International’s 2024 Farmer-to-Farmer Volunteer of the Year for her work in Senegal. With a background in journalism, public relations, and academia, Dr. Brown has dedicated her career to advancingglobal learning, strengthening nonprofit collaboration, and championing sustainable development. Locally, she has been recognized with the University of Central Arkansas Public Service Award for Faculty Excellence and the Global Learning Faculty Leader of the Year Award . From Stigma to Solutions: Pelvic Health with Sandy and Sarah

In recognition of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Awareness Month, this episode features two leading experts from Advanced Physical Therapy who are helping educate listeners on a topic that affects millions but is rarely discussed. Sandy, Director of Clinical Education and Pelvic Health Program Director, has been with Advanced Physical Therapy since 2011. She specializes in pelvic health physical therapy, treating men, women, and pediatric patients. She holds the Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC) and is certified in pessary fitting and management—offering specialized care for a wide range of pelvic floor conditions. Sarah Walker, PhD, PT, DPT, PRPC, CAPP-OB, joined Advanced Physical Therapy in 2015. As Senior Clinical Mentor and Research Facilitator, she plays a key role in both patient care and clinical advancement. She also treats men, women, and pediatrics and holds advanced certifications in pelvic health and pregnancy/postpartum physical therapy. Together, Sandy and Sarah explore the symptoms, causes, and treatment options for pelvic floor dysfunction. They share insights on how physical therapy can be a transformative tool for patients across all stages of life—and why breaking the stigma around pelvic health is more important than ever.
