What Needs Pruning in Your Life? You don't have to keep watering something that's already dead.

Let me ask you something, Thrivesters.  When was the last time you took a hard look at your life and asked:"What's no longer serving me?"Not what's annoying. Not what's inconvenient.WHAT IS ACTUALLY DEAD WEIGHT?Because here's the epiphany I had this morning…You can't grow new blooms while you're pouring energy into dead wood.In this episode of The Thrive Hive Podcast, we're taking another lesson from my hydrangeas and applying it to something much bigger: your life.As I was pruning my hydrangeas today, I found myself thinking about how often we hold onto things that have long stopped serving us - relationships, commitments, habits, routines, beliefs, even versions of ourselves we've already outgrown. And just like the beautiful hydrangeas, when we leave the dead wood in place, that dead wood consumes energy that could be fueling something beautiful. Here's what we're diving into:The Hydrangea Principle - why thriving requires regular pruning, not just planting.Recognizing Your Dead Wood  -  how to identify the people, habits, obligations, and thought patterns that are quietly draining your energy. Why Letting Go Feels So Hard - the guilt, fear, and identity shifts that often keep us holding on longer than we should.Making Space for Growth -  because every time you remove something that no longer belongs, you create room for joy, possibility, and what's next. The Power of Seasonal Check-Ins  -  why thriving isn't a one-time event. It's an ongoing practice of noticing, adjusting, and realigning.Thriving isn't about adding more, Thrivesters. Sometimes it's about removing what's standing in the way.Your bold, quick action step:Make a list of three things currently draining your energy. Then ask yourself: "What would happen if I stopped feeding this?" Links & Resources:Thrive Hive Coaching: https://forms.gle/omjSjMK4UTafn8SQAFollow me on Instagram: @nancy_medoff (https://www.instagram.com/nancy.medoff)Grab my best-selling book Unmute Yourself: https://www.amazon.com/Unmute-Yourself-Speak-Stand-Out/dp/B094988YFDJoin the Thrive Hive and receive the Weekly Buzz: https://the-thrive-hive-with-nancy-medoff.kit.com/597e99564dVisit my website: https://nancymedoff.com/

Your priorities aren’t the problem. Your boundaries are.

Let’s talk about boundaries for a second, Thrivesters…Not setting them. Not posting quotes about them.Actually. Holding. Them.Because here’s the truth:The hardest part about boundaries isn’t creating them. It’s honoring them when life starts pushing back. And this time of year is when it gets real. The invitations. The birthday parties. The recitals. The obligations. The “but it’s just this once…” energy. In this episode of The Thrive Hive Podcast, we’re talking about why protecting your peace requires more than clarity - it requires courage. And before you panic: No, this isn’t about becoming selfish. It’s about becoming aligned. Here’s what we’re diving into:Why your priorities are NOT community property - you don’t owe everyone access to your time, energy, or peace. The danger of abandoning yourself “just this once” - because those little compromises add up fast.Boundaries as self-trust - every time you honor a boundary, you prove to yourself that your needs matter too.How to stop letting life get in the way of actually living your life - because thriving requires intentional choices, not autopilot.Inside The Thrive Hive, we believe thriving means building a life that reflects your values - and then being brave enough to protect it.Clear.Kind.Firm.That’s the assignment. Your bold, quick action step:Choose ONE boundary you’ve been negotiating with yourself about - and honor it this week without guilt or explanation.Links & Resources:Follow me on Instagram: @nancy_medoff (https://www.instagram.com/nancy.medoff)Grab my best-selling book Unmute Yourself: https://www.amazon.com/Unmute-Yourself-Speak-Stand-Out/dp/B094988YFDJoin the Thrive Hive and receive the Weekly Buzz: https://the-thrive-hive-with-nancy-medoff.kit.com/597e99564dVisit my website: https://nancymedoff.com/

Stop Treating Joy Like It's Optional

Quick question, Thrivesters…What if thriving this summer had less to do with productivity…and more to do with intentionally creating joy?Because here’s the truth:If you don’t intentionally plan for joy, life will happily fill your calendar with Costco runs, errands, emails, and obligations instead. We are not doing that this summer. In this hot-and-quick Memorial Day weekend episode of The Thrive Hive Podcast, we’re talking about the power of creating a Summer Bucket List - not a to-do list. Not another list of things you should do.A list of things you genuinely want to experience.Outdoor concerts.Sunrises.Beach picnics.Golf.Tennis.Outdoor yoga.Swimming with you kids.Dinner al fresco with your partner.Simple moments that make you feel alive again.Because thriving isn’t always about massive reinvention.Sometimes it’s about remembering how to actually enjoy your life. Here’s what we’re diving into:Why your bucket list should NOT feel like work - this is about desire, not obligation. The surprising power of intention - when you write things down, you start organizing your life around them without even realizing it.Protecting your joy before life crowds it out - because if you don’t prioritize what matters to you, everything else will take over.Creating a summer you’ll actually remember - instead of one that flies by in a blur of errands and exhaustion.Inside The Thrive Hive, we believe thriving means intentionally making room for the life you worked so hard to build. Not someday. Not when things slow down.Now. Your bold, quick action step:☀️ Start your Summer Bucket List today. Write down 5 things you genuinely want to experience this summer - then commit to ONE this week. Links & Resources:Follow me on Instagram: @nancy_medoff (https://www.instagram.com/nancy.medoff)Grab my best-selling book Unmute Yourself: https://www.amazon.com/Unmute-Yourself-Speak-Stand-Out/dp/B094988YFDJoin the Thrive Hive and receive the Weekly Buzz: https://the-thrive-hive-with-nancy-medoff.kit.com/597e99564dVisit my website: https://nancymedoff.com/

Hot Take: Reinvention Should Feel a Little Dangerous.

Question for you, Thrivester… If your career, your role, your kids, or the thing that currently takes up most of your energy disappeared tomorrow… would your life still feel meaningful?Because here’s the truth nobody talks about enough:Too many high-achieving women build a wildly successful life without building a life outside of it.And when things shift, as they always do - they’re left asking: “Now what?”Today we’re talking about something I’m deeply passionate about:  creating what I call a portfolio life - a life filled with purpose, relationships, curiosity, wellness, joy, community, and experiences that exist outside of your title or productivity.Because thriving isn’t about waiting until retirement, burnout, or a major life change to finally figure out who you are. It’s about building that foundation now. Here’s what we’re diving into:The Identity Trap - why so many women unknowingly build their entire sense of self around work, motherhood, or achievement.Creating a Portfolio Life - how to intentionally build hobbies, relationships, passions, wellness practices, and purpose into your life before you “need” them. The Power of Alignment - why saying “no” to opportunities that no longer fit can feel more powerful than saying yes.Making Time Creates Time - the mindset shift that allows you to start building your next chapter before your current one ends.I’m sharing personal stories; from slowing down my speaking schedule to rediscovering golf and tennis - and why intentionally creating a fuller life outside of work has completely changed how I think about success, reinvention, and thriving.Your bold, quick action step:Ask yourself this today: “If the thing taking up most of my energy disappeared tomorrow… what would still light me up?”Now go out there and thrive like you mean it! 🐝Links & Resources:Thrive Hive Coaching: https://forms.gle/omjSjMK4UTafn8SQAFollow me on Instagram: @nancy_medoff (https://www.instagram.com/nancy.medoff)Grab my best-selling book Unmute Yourself: https://www.amazon.com/Unmute-Yourself-Speak-Stand-Out/dp/B094988YFDJoin the Thrive Hive and receive the Weekly Buzz: https://the-thrive-hive-with-nancy-medoff.kit.com/597e99564dVisit my website: https://nancymedoff.com/

Productivity Is Costing You Your Peace (Here’s What to Do Instead)

Let me ask you something, Thrivesters,Are you organizing your life to get the most done…or to feel the most at peace?Because here’s what’s up: We’ve been taught to prioritize productivity - even when it costs us our peace. And this week, we’re flipping that script.Today I’m sharing a real-time shift I’ve been making in my own life - moving away from maximizing efficiency and stepping into something far more powerful: a decision filter rooted in peace.Because thriving isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing what actually supports you. Here’s what we’re diving into:The “Peace vs. Productivity” Question - the one question that will instantly change how you make decisions in your day-to-day life. The Decision Filter Shift - instead of asking “What’s the most efficient?” start asking “What’s going to feel the most calm and peaceful?Letting Go of the Rush  -  why packing everything into one day, just because you can, is often the very thing draining your energy.Designing Days That Support You - how small shifts (even how you run errands) can dramatically change how you feel in your life.I’m sharing real examples; from reorganizing my weekly schedule to choosing not to cram everything into one day and how this simple shift has completely changed my energy, my stress levels, and honestly… how I show up in my life.Because Inside The Thrive Hive, this is what we do.We stop living by default and start making decisions that support the version of us we actually want to be.Because thriving means honoring our energy, setting boundaries around our time and choosing peace - on purpose. Are you willing to give it a try? Before your next decision, pause and ask: “What choice would bring me the most peace?” Then choose that.Aaaaand…go out there and thrive like you mean it.Links & Resources:Follow me on Instagram: @nancy_medoff (https://www.instagram.com/nancy.medoff)Grab my best-selling book Unmute Yourself: https://www.amazon.com/Unmute-Yourself-Speak-Stand-Out/dp/B094988YFDVisit my website: https://nancymedoff.com/

Your closet is full of a life you don’t live anymore - and what do do about it

It’s spring cleaning, Thrivesters and today’s episode  started as a closet clean-out conversation. But boy did we change course – and quickly. What started out as  “three tips to help streamline your closet cleanout” quickly became a powerful conversation about identity.Today we welcome back wardrobe stylist Elisa Ellis, and we get into the real reason your closet feels overwhelming – AND what to actually do about it.We keep it practical. Tactical. Doable. We also go where this always goes as we talk about who you were, who you thought you’d be and who you actually are now.Because your closet is a timeline, Thrivesters. And if you’re not careful, you’re walking into a version of yourself every day that no longer fits.A few highlights:Why closet clutter is rarely about “too many clothes”The subtle identity gap that keeps you holding on to things you don’t wearThe difference between liking something… and actually wearing itWhy “I spent money on it” is one of the biggest trapsWe’ll link everything to Elisa in the show notes and if you’re ready for some style support, she’s your person. And if this episode hit you?Text a friend.Send it to her.Or better yet… invite her over and clean out one drawer together. Now go out there and thrive like you mean it. 🐝Summer Buzz Coaching with NancyJoin the Weekly Buzz (weekly newsletter)Follow Nancy on instaElisa websiteElisa book

The One Decision That Made Me Rethink Everything

This episode almost didn’t happen. Not because there wasn’t something to say - but because I caught myself doing the very thing I’ve spent years helping women stop doing: performing instead of living.A five-hour drive home from Maine turned into a much bigger wake-up call about agency, perception, and the quiet ways we abandon our own needs. This conversation is raw, real-time reflection - the kind that happens when you notice your own patterns and decide you’re done with them.Because before renewal comes something else: shedding. And sometimes the thing we need to shed most is the pressure we put on ourselves. How many times have you said to yourself “I’ll just do it?”  It sounds harmless. Responsible, even. But over time, those small moments of self-abandonment add up - and they quietly pull you away from the life you say you want to live.If you're entering a new season of your life…What are you no longer willing to do?What habits, obligations, or patterns are you carrying simply because you always have?Because the life you want to create - the one where you truly thrive - requires space. And sometimes the most powerful move you can make is simply stopping something that no longer serves you.A gentle reminder for you, Thrivesters…Thriving means:• Living in full alignment with your values• Setting boundaries that protect your energy• Honoring your truth without apology• Creating rituals that sustain you• Knowing exactly what you need to live your best lifeAnd sometimes the hardest boundaries to set are the ones we set with ourselves. Now go thrive like you mean it. 🐝Sign up for the weekly buzz!

I Went on Safari… and Came Home With 3 Life Lessons I Can’t Unlearn

What happens when you step completely out of your routine - and into the wild?In this episode, I’m back from my bucket-list safari in Africa with three unexpected lessons that HIT HARD.   Between hot air balloons drifting with the wind, lions roaring just feet away, and a powerful human connection with someone from a completely different world, this trip became more than an adventure - it became the reset I didn’t know I needed. If you're someone who plans everything, optimizes everything, and carries a lot of responsibility (sound familiar?), these insights might stop you in your tracks - in the best way possible.Today I’m talking about:1. What happens when you stop steering your life for a moment.A sunrise hot-air balloon ride over the Maasai Mara delivered a surprising realization: sometimes freedom comes from not controlling everything.2. Why the animals on safari offered a masterclass in presence.Watching wildlife live moment-to-moment revealed how much we overcomplicate life and how powerful it can be to simply be where your feet are.3. The unexpected connection that became the most memorable moment of the trip.A quiet interaction with a Maasai guide named Dominic became a powerful reminder that human connection transcends language, culture, and circumstance.Inspired by the stillness of the safari, I made a commitment to myself:10 minutes a day of mindfulness. Not perfection. Not hour-long meditation sessions.Just ten minutes to reset, breathe, and quiet the noise of a world that often feels overwhelming. And the surprising part? It’s becoming the part of the day I look forward to the most.So Thrivesters here’s my challenge to you this week (pick one)Let the wind take you somewhere - leave space in your schedule for the unexpected.Be where your feet are - practice presence instead of constant multitasking.Seek out connection - because the most meaningful moments often come from the simplest interactions. Now go out there and thrive like you mean it.Looking for a little more inspiration delivered straight to your in box? Boundaries, Agency and the Year of the Fire Horse

We’re back, Thrivesters - and this episode is your line in the sand.As we step into the Year of the Fire Horse, the energy around us is undeniable: momentum, movement, transformation, and bold possibility. But here’s the truth most people miss-powerful energy without boundaries =burnout.Today we're talking about how to ride the energy of this year, not be dragged by it.We’re talking about agency - your ability to choose how you show up, what you tolerate, and what you’re no longer available for. Because growth without grounding isn’t growth. It’s chaos. And the tool that makes all of this possible?Boundaries. In this episode, we cover:🔥 What the Year of the Fire Horse really represents -and why 2026 isn’t the year to play small🔥 Why boundaries are the highest form of self-love (and the most misunderstood)🔥 How to set boundaries at work without damaging relationships 🔥 The power of behavioral boundaries - when action speaks louder than announcements🔥 Real-life examples of boundaries with bosses, colleagues, family, friends, and houseguests🔥 Why resentment is often a signal that a boundary is overdue🔥 How rituals are actually boundaries you set with yourself - and why honoring them changes everything🔥 The truth about self-betrayal, burnout, and why we’re quickest to break promises to ourselves🔥 How protecting your energy improves sleep, focus, peace, and clarity (yes, even 100% sleep scores)If this year is asking you to move faster, think bigger, and live more intentionally, boundaries are what keep you anchored in your truth while everything else accelerates.Ready to go deeper?✨ I’ve linked a simple boundary script in the show notes to help you practice setting clear, kind boundaries that actually stick.✨ If you’re honoring a ritual that’s changing how you feel or live, tag me on Instagram @nancy_medoff - I love seeing what’s working for you.✨ If you’re navigating a “what now / what next” season and want support curating this next chapter with clarity and confidence, join the waitlist for my 8-week THRIVE LIVE Lightning Coaching program (link below). This year isn’t about more effort. It’s about aligned action, grounded energy, and choosing yourself - on purpose. Now go thrive like you mean it!https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/sl/cmSdMohThrive Live Coaching Wait Listhttps://lp.constantcontactpages.com/sl/MurXaK9Thrive Hive Weekly Buzzhttps://lp.constantcontactpages.com/sl/JkL96cGBoundary Blueprint https://www.instagram.com/nancy_medoff/Follow me on Insta

Should I Stay or Should I Go? The Career Crossroad Dilemma EP127

Should I stay or should I go? We’ve all been there Podsters, feeling like something's not quite right. Yet not sure if we’re having a rough day or if it’s time to make a big change. For me, this feeling is unsettling - kind of like driving the car when it starts making a strange noise. Uh-oh. Is this bad? Is it nothing? Should I turn up the radio and ignore? Should I take this seriously and pull over to check under the hood? As I said...very unsettling. This happens in our lives as well and here's the thing: If you’re not listening to your instincts, you’re missing out on some of the best advice you’ll ever get, from the person who knows you better than anyone - YOU. What if that gut feeling isn’t coming through loud and clear? Well then it's time to really listen to your loved ones. They know you well, and sometimes they see things about us that we can’t (or won’t) see ourselves. Years ago when I was working in a very toxic, unhealthy work environment, it was a comment from my step-son that got me to stop and truly think. If your warning light is going off, or you're hearing some knocking and pinging in your head; it's up to YOU to figure out if you should stick it out or start making moves. Here are three tell-tale signs that can help you to find the clarity you need: 1️⃣ You’re Constantly Behind-Like, All. The. Time. 2️⃣ You Feel Yourself Changing—and Not for the Better 3️⃣ Someone You Trust Says, “Get Over It” Now that you know the signs, here’s what to do about it: 1️⃣ Give Yourself Some Grace. 2️⃣ Reevaluate Your Choices. 3️⃣ Phone a Friend. When you realize it’s time to go, celebrate that awareness. Take a breath, give yourself grace, and remember you don’t need to rush into the next thing. Recognizing the need for change is the first step toward making it happen.
