Episode #092 - Trust the Process: A Journey of Transformation and Self-Improvement
Last year, while I was in Miami for work, I stopped by the Vault Conference. Of course, always supporting my boy Mario and Patrick Bet-David. The Vault is one of the few real events that truly provides value and is worth checking out. As Willy and I walked the merchandise floor, I saw this shirt that really caught my attention. At the time, I had just started my weight loss journey and had only lost maybe 5-6 pounds. I decided to get one size smaller, figuring it would fit well eventually. Later that day, Matt found out I was in the same hotel and invited me to his room for a podcast episode. I remember putting on the shirt and feeling every insecurity about my weight. Despite that, I pushed forward, swallowed my pride, and owned the fact that I was transitioning to something better. I knew that a couple of months from then, my hard work would pay off. When Matt released the video, it was a wake-up call. But it was also the fuel I needed to keep pushing harder. I was about 245-247 pounds then, already down from nearly 260. Today, for the first time, I put that same shirt on, now weighing in at 210. The excitement I felt seeing how well it fit was incredible. Sure, it's just a shirt, but for me, it meant much more than that. Sometimes, we need to trust the process and not focus too much on quick results. It makes the achievement much more worthwhile. This post is to show that I don't have everything figured out. I'm not a fitness guru, not the perfect dad, husband, brother, or friend. I'm just a man learning from my mistakes and trying to make things right as best as I can, for as long as God permits me to stay here creating memories.
