Season 13 episode 3: Dopamine Hits. It's amazing how much we need this hormone and neurotransmitter, and how much it helps us love what we do and helps us to continue doing it. Okay, that sounds a bit grand. But think about it. Without loving what we do as writers, readers don't get their own dopamine hits by reading our stories. This episode contains a radio interview in the middle between me and author Angela Cairns from Colne Radio in Essex discussing, among other things, the excitement and passion of writing including getting dopamine hits. Season 13, Episode 2: Marketing We've covered this topic a lot on The Versatile Writer, yet there is still more to unwrap. Includes how to make opportunities, where to find them, and how to make the very best of them. Includes a brief reading of When The Moon Was White by author, Jeff Probst, and its synopsis. (It's an interesting book - well worth your time, so why not pick up a copy? 🙂 Link below in show notes) SHOW NOTES When the Moon was White: Amazon.co.uk: Probst, Jeff: 9781803132365: Books Jeff’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeffprobst_author/ www.jeffprobst.co.uk www.allianceindependentauthors.org www.facebook.com/groups/theversatilewriterpodcastgroup www.loveofbooks.co.uk www.facebook.com/groups/theversatilewriterpodcastgroup

If this sounds appealing to you, check out the details on my 'Free To You' tab on www.loveofbooks.co.uk Full disclosure, the podcast is still free but this service is not - sorry, girl's gotta live! This is the final episode in Season 12. I hope you've got something from it. Despite the typo in the file, this episode touches on Timelines (not timeliness!), Trends, and Tips and I look at how timelines can help you write your project, and how trends can sometimes hinder our progress. We end on how tips can be framed so readers (and listeners) can get the most from them. Note the show notes mention my latest book A Guide To Creative Writing published by White Owl Books. A girl's gotta promo where she can 😉 There will be a bite-sized bonus episode next week with some of this season's bloopers...and who doesn't love a giggle?! Season 13 will be available from approx 8 weeks time. More information on the finer details can be found via this podcast's facebook page. link below. There's so much to consider when using multiple genres within your storytelling, but fear not, it's all good. By using movies and TV shows as examples, I touch on why writing a single story over several genres can make the journey exciting. Sad to say, but sometimes it catches up with us. Whether we become burned out through overwhelm or from overwork, it's good to know there are some things that can help overcome it all. SHOW NOTES www.loveofbooks.co.uk
S12 E5 MeSearch looks at how our personalities are touched quite strongly by our ancestors. I've noticed a lot of similarities in character traits while writing my parents' memoirs. S12 E3 looks at launching your book. It's not always easy, but then it's not always tough. I highlight things to consider, ups and downs of the process, and how some books are not meant for the eyes of others. I also include a reason why you might not feel able to actually press that publishing button in the first place.
