About the show

The world of leadership is rife with information, listicles and re-hashed advice. We all know that we need to have more difficult conversations, be kinder and more empathetic with those we lead, and walk the path of servant leadership. And yet we rarely seem to get any closer to developing ourselves as the leaders we wish to be. Instead, we clutter our brains with more information, enact a new promise to ourselves and those around us to lean in and show up more powerfully than we did last time, and somehow remain running around in circles. There's no shortage of advice available to create incremental change, and they provide exactly that: create incremental change. You get better at doing what you already do, but slightly faster and slightly better. Boring. This podcast will NOT provide you with incremental change. It will expose your hidden genius, unlock a new level of mastery in yourself, and, provide you paths to creating exponential power and growth.

Ep 418: AI, Work slop and Leadership slop

Work slop is a new term that Harvard Business coined for AI output that looks polished but has no substance. It looks good enough, passes inspection, and carries very little weight, quietly transferring the actual work to whoever's downstream. But work slop is not new. The same thing has been happening in leadership for a long time through active listening, feedback meetings, and "candid conversations" that take the form of something real without actually touching what matters.

Ep 417 : The Trap of Feedback-Positive Cultures

There is nothing wrong with positive feedback. But a feedback-positive culture can train people to accept feedback, nod their heads, and say yes without ever truly letting the feedback reach them. The feedback that makes a difference creates disruption, and leadership is forged by sitting with the discomfort instead of explaining, justifying, or turning it into the next action.

Ep 416 : Being Held Accountable vs Becoming Someone Who Is Accountable

Being held accountable can help you do the thing, but it doesn't create a transformational shift. It creates compliance, not leadership. Adam Quiney explains why becoming someone who is accountable is different from being held accountable by someone else.

Ep 415: Feedback vs Contact

Today, we are going to draw a distinction between getting and receiving feedback. It happens all the time across the leadership world, but contact is almost never happening. Many leaders believe they are receiving feedback because they listen, ask clarifying questions, thank people, and take action. But those moves can become part of a protective identity that keeps the real issue at a distance.

Ep 414: Why Feedback Friendly Cultures Fail.

Why does creating a feedback-friendly culture fail? Most people welcome feedback that fits the story they already have about themselves, but reject feedback that challenges their existing identity. Real transformation begins when leaders and teams develop the capacity to hold tension, stay in the conversation, and let in the feedback they would normally push away. That's what creates meaningful change: not just asking for feedback, but learning how to truly receive it.

Ep 413: From the Vault Ep 192 - The First Energetic Law - Fear and Possibility

Can we get rid of our fears permanently? There's always a standard way of how we think things work. Working twice as hard could typically mean acquiring twice as much salary and likewise, working less means less income to earn. This realm of predictability is simply increasing or decreasing your effort and having the equivalent result, thus no breakthroughs are applied. The realm of possibility, on the other hand, is anything and everything that you can think of that is not common. Working less but earning more? That may look unrealistic but it's certainly not impossible. As you can see, possibility exists entirely outside of everything we already currently know. We just tend to see it as impossible or a nice unachievable dream as our fears tend to get in the way. And this tells us why the possibility is always met with fear. Fears protect us from stepping into the unknown. It keeps us from venturing and simply dealing with everything that we used to instead of trying new things. But, living a life of transformation means living a life where you are continuously taking risks. The goal lies in the realm of possibility wherein you'll be leaving the world with what you are familiar it. And you can't have limitless opportunities without addressing your fears. If you're a leader committed to breaking paradigms and forging forward to create the impossible, tune in to this series as I'll go over the first energetic law of leadership and why do fear and possibility always show up in equal and opposite countermeasures to one another.

Ep 412: From the Vault Ep 169 - What it Means to Lead Up

Did you ever think that you could fully commit to be a better leader if only your superior is not in the way? Or you can be able to showcase your leadership effectively but you're being hampered by someone above you? But, stepping into the being of a leader has nothing to do with them changing in any way. Leading up starts with us taking responsibility and not letting ourselves off the hook and we'll discuss it all in today's episode! Leading up is an essential aspect of being a leader. In today's conversation, we'll highlight the ways on how to lead up and take accountability on ourselves as I'll tackle the common misconceptions and what it actually means to lead up. I'll also share why we should release the right to hold expectations, to blame those above us, and let them be the reason in order to empower our leadership.

Mid-week Ep 161: Adam Quiney

On this week's live episode, join Adam Quiney for a candid conversation about one of the most frustrating experiences high-performing leaders face: knowing exactly what needs to happen next and somehow not doing it. Adam explores why this isn't a motivation problem, a discipline problem, or a sign that you need a bigger challenge, but rather a deeper pattern that often emerges when competence and success have outgrown their usefulness. Together, you'll unpack the hidden costs of being highly capable, why boredom can be a surprisingly important signal, and how the very skills that helped you excel may now be keeping you stuck. Adam also explores the subtle ways leaders avoid the work that's truly theirs to do, what sits underneath procrastination when you're already successful, and how to create movement without relying on pressure, force, or self-judgment. Tune in for a thoughtful and engaging discussion on leadership, growth, and what it takes to move forward when life looks fine on the surface but something important isn't working underneath. As always, bring your questions for the live conversation.

Ep 411: From the Vault Ep 166 - How Blindspots are Created and Work Part 2

We can't identify our own blindspots. We may have tried to explore it but let's admit it, we can't see what we're blinded to so we have to let go of that belief that we can do it all by ourselves. As a sequel to last week's episode, I'll discuss what you can do to discover your blindspots and why you should be responsible for them. We'll continue our conversation on blindspots as I'll share how your blindspot will impact everything around you - your leadership, team, and the work's culture and environment. I'll also unpack the notion of blindspots colluding with each other so listen and don't miss the opportunity to transform yourselves as better leaders!

Ep 410: From the Vault Ep 165 - How Blindspots are Created and Work Part 1

The need to identify and understand our blindspots in order to develop our leadership further is natural. We also tend to struggle to accept the idea once we learned our blindspots and that's also normal as we are indeed blind to our weak points. In today's conversation, we'll discover your blindspots by knowing how it gets created in the first place. I'll discuss why our blindspots are a function of our fears, judgements, and significance on our way of being. I'll also share how we are exceptionalizing ourselves from these blindspots, how it creates an impact on our leadership structure, and why trust is needed when you want to know your blindspots. Additionally, something exciting is coming soon as I invite you to experience being a leader yourself at the moment.
