It is not just about automating audit work, tax work, or financial reporting. The real future is accounting AI engineering. In this video, I rant about why accountants, auditors, educators, and researchers need to stop treating AI like a toy and start treating it like a system that has to be designed, tested, validated, documented, and governed. Accounting does not need people blindly copying and pasting into AI tools. Accounting needs people who understand the data, the controls, the workflow, the risks, the output, and the failure points. That is where the profession is going.
