The Grief of Becoming Someone New
Becoming the woman you say you want to be is much more challenging than anyone warns you about. In this episode, I’m talking about the part of personal growth that doesn’t fit neatly into the before-and-after story. You can want different boundaries, more freedom, greater self trust, and an entirely different way of living, then feel surprisingly disoriented when you actually start changing. Becoming someone new means something else has to be left behind, and sometimes what you feel in that space isn’t doubt or a sign that you’ve made the wrong choice. It’s grief. In this episode, you’ll hear: • Why personal growth can feel disorienting even when you want the change • What can happen when your old identity no longer fits • Why missing who you used to be doesn’t necessarily mean you should go back • How to honour who you’ve been without letting her determine what comes next • Three questions to help you trust the woman you’re becoming Take the next step There’s something you want to change, something you can’t quite figure out, or you know you’re ready for something different but you’re not sure what that looks like yet.
