Health & Wellness in the Workplace with Dr. Kevin Rindal (Part I)
Jon Harrison welcomes Dr. Kevin Rindal to discuss his transition from working with elite athletes including the U.S. Olympic Swim Team and U.S. Women’s Ice Hockey to helping utility, construction, and maritime companies reduce injuries and improve workforce readiness. Inspired by seeing his grandfather worn down by physical labor, Rindal developed “body maintenance” frameworks that apply simple, athlete-style recovery principles to workers, helping reduce injuries and improve mobility. They discuss results from early utility programs, including a 53% reduction in sprain/strain injuries and data showing five minutes of mobility work (the “daily five”) improved movement screening scores, especially for ages 50–60.
