Ep 296 | Limiting Belief Buster | Why You Still Don't Think You Deserve It

Have you ever achieved something you wanted and then questioned whether you actually deserved it? In this episode, I break down the limiting beliefs that can keep you from recognizing what you're capable of and the stories you've been telling yourself that may not even be true. I walk through three simple but powerful questions to help you challenge those beliefs: Is it true? How old is it? What must be true? These questions force you to separate facts from feelings, get to the root of what's holding you back, and figure out what needs to change for you to move forward. Key Topics: Busting the beliefs holding you back Separating facts from feelings Challenging old belief systems Becoming who you need to become Follow along @jacobemery44 #ironandinfrastructure #jacobemery #limitingbeliefs #mindset #personaldevelopment #leadership #selfawareness #growthmindset #entrepreneurship #unlockyourgreatness

In this episode of Trench Talk, I sit down to talk about one of the biggest transitions in the field: moving from operator to foreman. We break down why leadership requires communication, confidence, accountability, and the ability to get out of the seat and see the bigger picture. We also talk about mentorship, teaching others, and giving people the tools and structure they need to succeed. Key Topics: Operator → foreman: why the skill sets are different You can't run the job from the seat Communication, documentation, and personal development Building a culture of mentorship and growth Learn more: https://www.prim.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/company/primoris-services-corporation/posts/?feedView=all https://www.instagram.com/primservices/ https://www.facebook.com/PrimorisServicesCorporation Follow along @jacobemery44 #ironandinfrastructure #trenchtalk #leadership #bluecollar #construction #pipelinelife #foreman #operator #personaldevelopment #mentorship #leadershipdevelopment #bluecollarmen

Ep 292 | Trench Talk Ep 02 | THE TWO 80-PERCENTS (Communication & Documentation)

In this episode of Trench Talk, we break down what I call the two 80-percents: communication and documentation. If you can get both of those right, you're already ahead of the game. We talk about setting clear expectations, creating a two-way feedback loop, speaking up when something isn't right, and why documenting the work matters just as much as communicating it. Clear communication builds trust, and documentation creates accountability. Key Topics: Clear communication and expectations Communication as a two-way street The importance of documentation Building trust through accountability Learn more: https://www.prim.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/company/primoris-services-corporation/posts/?feedView=all https://www.instagram.com/primservices/ https://www.facebook.com/PrimorisServicesCorporation Follow along @jacobemery44 #ironandinfrastructure #trenchtalk #leadership #communication #construction

Ep 291 | Trench Talk Ep 01 | HEAR VS. LISTEN | BE A SPONGE.

When I first started in this industry, my biggest downfall was not shutting up and listening. My ego was too big, and I thought I had to prove I knew what I was doing. In this episode, Mike Pence and I talk about the difference between hearing and actually listening, putting your ego aside, becoming a sponge, and learning from the people who have already walked the road. You don't have to know it all. You just have to be willing to listen and learn. Ep 288 | I Documented My Whole Career and Didn't Know It

Looking back at old photos brought back a lot more than just memories. In this episode, I go through pictures from some of my earliest experiences in the pipeline industry, from learning to operate equipment at just five or six years old to working cross-country jobs and learning some hard lessons in the field. Some of these moments were challenging, some were terrifying, and a lot of them helped shape who I am today. The crazy part is, I was documenting my career the entire time without even realizing how valuable those pictures would become years later. This is a look back at where I started, what I learned along the way, and some of the experiences I'll never forget.
