I Bought a business

I bought a business. Actually, I bought it almost a year ago …and today I can finally tell you about it. Meet Retreat Me Happy, a global retreat discovery and industry platform bringing together retreat guests, hosts, venues and suppliers. In this very spontaneous (and very fast!) episode, I'm sharing the story of how Retreat Me Happy came into my world, why I knew almost immediately that I wanted to buy it, and why I then spent nearly a year quietly holding the business before I was ready to bring it properly to life. I talk about becoming the custodian of something another founder created, how Retreat Me Happy fits alongside Emma Lovell and Rest & Receive, and why this business feels different from anything I've built before. Because this one isn't meant to be all about me. It's about creating a place where the whole world of retreats can come together, whether you're looking for a retreat, hosting one, searching for the perfect venue or providing the products and services that make incredible retreat experiences possible. And after more than a year of dreaming, visioning, waiting and wondering what this could become, we're finally here. Welcome to Retreat Me Happy. Discover. Connect. Retreat.

We are moving to INDIA!

We’re moving to India! After months of planning, conversations and figuring out the logistics, I’m finally sharing the full story behind our family’s decision to spend three months living, working and travelling throughout India. In this episode, I answer the questions everyone has been asking: ✨What will Mathew do about work? ✨What about Finn’s school? ✨How will I run my business? ✨And what are we doing with our home and our beloved cat, T’Challa? I also share some exciting changes happening within my businesses, including the repositioning of Rest & Receive, the growth of my retreat consulting work, plans for VIP Days in India and a NEW business aquisition. But this episode is about much more than moving overseas. It’s about refusing to wait 15 years for the freedom you want. It’s about recognising that time with the people you love isn’t guaranteed and choosing to create a life you love now. If you’ve been waiting for the “right time” to travel, start the business, follow an idea or make a big change, this episode is your reminder: if you don’t leap, you’ll never know. This is the #BleisureLife in action and I can’t wait to share it all with you.

Soul Alignment with Ann Marie Grace

Have you ever wondered why certain things come naturally to you, why you keep repeating the same patterns, or why some seasons of life feel completely out of alignment? In this episode, I'm joined by soul alignment coach and professional astrologer **Anne Marie Grace** for a fascinating conversation about astrology, Human Design, Gene Keys and the power of understanding your unique blueprint. We first connected through SourceBottle when Anne Marie was looking for people who had never experienced an astrology reading before. After my own reading, I knew I had to invite her onto the podcast. Together we explore: * Why astrology is so much more than your star sign. * How Human Design and Gene Keys can offer practical guidance for everyday life. * The difference between using these tools as a guide rather than a rulebook. * Learning to trust your own intuition instead of outside expectations. * Why understanding yourself can strengthen your relationships with your partner, children and team. * The role of change, growth and self-acceptance in creating a life you genuinely love. * Whether spirituality and self-awareness are becoming more mainstream. * How understanding your natural gifts can give you permission to stop trying to be someone you're not. One of my biggest takeaways from our conversation was Anne Marie reminding me that **my voice is my gift**—a message that deeply resonated and has stayed with me ever since. Whether you're completely new to astrology or already exploring Human Design, this conversation offers a grounded, thoughtful perspective on using these tools to better understand yourself and create a life that feels more aligned. If you've ever felt like you're trying to fit into someone else's definition of success, this episode is for you.

Finding Active Joy While Chasing Big Dreams

Sometimes life can get in the way, even when you're planning a big dream. In this episode, I'm sharing a real-life update on what has been happening behind the scenes. From battling the Australian winter cold, juggling school holidays and family logistics, to planning our next big move, this is an honest look at what creating a life you love actually looks like. I also share a concept that completely shifted my perspective: **active joy**. Instead of waiting until you've achieved the goal, earned the money or reached the destination, how can you intentionally create moments of joy today? This episode also shares: * Our next BIG dream and plan ... listen for the scoop * What happens when life slows you down. * Turning on multiple income streams to fund a big dream. * Why commitment matters more than certainty. * Finding gratitude and abundance, even when business isn't perfect. * My new (and slightly outrageous!) plan for **40 things for my 40th year.** If you've ever felt like your dreams have been put on hold because life got messy, this episode is your reminder that progress doesn't have to be perfect, and neither do you.

Show up on LinkedIn with Kate Merryweather

LinkedIn doesn't have to feel awkward, salesy or overwhelming. In this episode, I'm joined by my LinkedIn coach (and friend), Kate Merryweather, to talk about what actually works on LinkedIn in 2026. Kate shares how she went from freelance copywriter to one of Australia's leading LinkedIn coaches, why generosity is one of the best marketing strategies, and how showing up consistently can completely change your business. We also chat about one of my favourite concepts from her community, Shoot Your Shot Wednesday, and why asking for opportunities, pitching yourself and becoming comfortable hearing "no" has become such a big focus in my own business this year. Whether you're looking for more clients, speaking opportunities, collaborations or simply want your content to work harder for you, this episode has loads of practical strategies you can start using today. If you've ever wondered: "What should I post on LinkedIn?" "How do I connect with people without being annoying?" "How do I actually get leads from LinkedIn?" ...this episode is for you.

Step Inside the Bleisure Life

What does the Bleisure Life actually look like in real life? We've decided to shake up the podcast and give you a bit more a "day in the life of", or week in the life of, and really bring you along the bleisure journey. Leading by example and experience, and finding ways that YOU can make small changes with impact to live your own #BleisureLife, now. Emma shares what's happening behind the scenes, from the lessons she's been reflecting on around goals, achievement, and celebrating success, to a major family decision that's been months in the making. After years of teaching the Bleisure Life philosophy, Emma realised that perhaps the best way to explain it isn't through theory, but through lived experience. This is the beginning of a new chapter and a new style of podcast, where Emma takes you behind the scenes and shares the realities, decisions, opportunities, and challenges of creating a Bleisure Life.

I'm scared - and how I'm working with it

Lately, I've been scared. Not scared of the world. Not scared of taking risks. Not even scared of hard work. I've been scared of hearing "no." After a season of pushing, advocating, creating and putting myself out there, I realised my heart was feeling a little tender. And when we're carrying disappointment, rejection or exhaustion, even simple asks can start to feel overwhelming. In this episode, I share what I've been noticing in myself, the fear of asking, why I was retreating instead of reaching out, and the mindset shifts helping me move forward. I also talk about the concept of 100 No's, Shoot Your Shot Wednesday, and how building resilience isn't about becoming fearless. It's about continuing to show up, even when you're scared. And also - learning my own message again of sometimes we have to REST in order to RECEIVE. Rest is also a strategy. These things can all work in together. If you've been holding back, avoiding the ask, or feeling vulnerable after a difficult season, this episode is for you.

Six Figures in Sales with Kate Toon

Who would like six figures in sales right now? Yes please! This week our guest Kate Toon shares everything she knows about sales, and many more wonderful business (and life) insights. So many business owners are brilliant at showing up online and creating content, but when it comes to actually asking for the sale, they freeze. That's where Kate Toon's latest book, Six Figures in Sales, can help. We explore why so many entrepreneurs struggle with selling, how retail has changed Kate's perspective on customer relationships, and the biggest mistakes business owners make when trying to grow revenue. As always, our conversation went on many wonderful tangents as we discussed how we're evolving as entrepenurs. And yes, we are using the word "evolve" over "pivot". If you've ever felt uncomfortable promoting yourself, worried about hearing "no," or wondered why your visibility isn't translating into sales, this episode is packed with practical wisdom and refreshing honesty to help you build your confidence and ask for that sale!

Consultant: Identity Shift

Who am I now? And what do I actually want to be known for? Existential crisis incoming! Jokes! But I am sharing from a place of processing and letting you in behind the scenes as I'm in transition. And I hope, if you're in the same messy middle - this finds you and you feel very, very seen (or heard, it's a podcast after all!) I’m sharing the identity shift I’ve been moving through, from calling myself a coach to embracing the word consultant, and why that change feels deeply aligned with the work I’m doing today. I talk about the evolution of my personal brand, how I’ve gone from running Lovelly Communications to becoming The Bleisure Coach, and now focusing in on the Retreats side of my business in a consulting capacity, which all contributes to my bleisure life. Also, as you can see, why being multi-passionate can sometimes make it harder for people to describe what you do. This episode was sparked by a powerful realisation during one of my retreats in India, a conversation with my own mentor, and a simple social media question asking people: “How would you describe what I do?” The answers were beautiful, surprising, emotional, and incredibly revealing. If you’ve ever felt like you’re evolving beyond your current title, this episode is for you.

Wellness Travel with Neil Sullivan

We hear the word wellness everywhere right now. Saunas. Ice baths. Supplements. Morning routines. But what if we’ve overcomplicated it? In this episode, I sit down with Neil O’Sullivan, founder of Nimbus Co, to unpack what wellness really looks like. Beyond the trends, the aesthetics, and the pressure to “get it right.” What does wellness mean to you? We talk about mental health, burnout, building a business, and why chasing the perfect routine might actually be the thing that's continuing the burnout. This is a grounded, honest conversation about what it actually means to feel well, in your body, your mind, and your life. We also explore the huge rise in wellness travel and how that impacts not only the retreat industry, but how local businesses can bring the feeling of wellness travel to home. Because wellbeing isn’t something you achieve. Being well is.
