Sovereign Woman Rising: True Self 2.0, Not a Midlife Crisis

This isn't a midlife crisis — it's an initiation nobody taught you to recognize. In this episode, Manon de Veritch, creator of The Surrender Method and founder of Sovereign Woman Rising™, sits down with Dr. Pat Baccili to name the threshold most women hit and have no map for: the passage between Mother and Crone that our culture forgot how to mark. Manon walks through what's actually driving the restlessness — across health, wealth, and relationships — why the liminal space feels so unsafe that most women stay stuck performing a role that's costing them, and the seven-stage, three-arc framework she built to guide women through it and into what she calls True Self 2.0: not who you were before life happened to you, but who you came here to be. If you've felt the life you built stop feeling like yours, this episode names it — and gives you a map. The Opposite Direction

E.F. Schumacher once wrote “ Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex. It takes a touch of genius and a lot of courage to go in the opposite direction .” In this episode, John will share insights on how valuable it is to challenge the status quo and “lean” things out in your life. When others are “adding,” stop and consider subtracting. Bigger is not necessarily better. Ask yourself, what can I delete? When others are pushing, try pulling. When others are making false claims and sharing biased opinions, lead with open questions and get the facts. Challenge assumptions, starting with your own. When others are criticizing and judging, practice contemplation and forgiveness. Be curious. Recognize there are two sides to every coin. When others are complicating the simple, learn to simplify the complex. Offer short answers to long questions. Indeed, this is true genius. While others may be speeding up and working harder, it might be best for you to slow down and work smarter. Seek to understand life’s counterintuitive options and misunderstood paradoxes. This is where true wisdom often lies dormant. You will discover: Why “Pulling” is much more effective than “Pushing.” What does it mean to pull as a parent or leader? What are some practical ways to do this? How to Avoid the “Closet Space Syndrome.” What is this syndrome and what are some strategies for reversing it? What is the difference between Activity and Productivity? How do we know if what we are doing is truly productive? What is Lean Thinking? Why is this mindset so valuable in business and in life? What is a paradigm and why is it so important to challenge them. What are some of life’s most common paradoxes and counterintuitive solutions? Do Something Outrageous Every Day: Gloria Steinem on Power, Equality & Creating Change

In this special archival episode of The Dr. Pat Show, we go back to 2004 for a powerful conversation between Dr. Pat Basile and legendary writer, activist, and women’s rights leader Gloria Steinem. Originally recorded for Crust Busting Your Way to an Awesome Life, this conversation explores what it means to break through the beliefs, conditioning, and limitations that keep us stuck—and to use our own power to create meaningful change. Gloria shares the story behind one of the phrases that profoundly influenced Dr. Pat: “Do something outrageous every day.” For Gloria, being outrageous wasn't about being reckless. It was about taking action in the cause of simple justice and refusing to accept the limitations placed upon us. Together, Dr. Pat and Gloria explore the progress of the women's movement, the importance of women standing on the shoulders of those who came before them, and the responsibility we each have to create stronger shoulders for those who come next. Gloria also speaks about the power of voting, women's economic independence, reproductive freedom, language, self-respect, raising children without violence, and—perhaps most importantly—the necessity of imagining change before we can move toward it. This is a conversation about equality, courage, possibility, and the everyday choices that can help create a more just world. In this episode, you'll hear Gloria Steinem discuss: Why women were taught to believe their limitations were “natural” and how listening to one another helped change that belief The meaning behind “Do something outrageous every day” Why we must treat ourselves as well as we treat others How young girls are watching—and learning—from the choices women make The importance of honoring the work done inside the home Why the women's movement is far from over The power of women to create change through business, political participation, and collective action Why voting is an essential expression of personal power The importance of imagining the world we want before we can create it Raising a generation of children who understand that all human qualities belong to all people The connection between nurturing, gender expectations, and violence Why we need to both “keep people from drowning” and look at the long-term reasons people are falling in The importance of having a vision of hope that keeps us moving forward At the heart of this extraordinary conversation is a simple challenge: What outrageous thing will you do today in the cause of justice, equality, or positive change? And perhaps, as Gloria reminds us, the question isn't whether we're willing to change the world. It's whether we're willing to take the next small, courageous action that makes change possible. Encore: Why do you feel comfortable Judging others?

It is interesting that we go through life from the time we are born until the time we die being told not to judge others, that passing judgement is “wrong” and yet so many people still pass judgment on others and feel they have the right to do so. Encore: What is one thing you can do today that will make tomorrow better?

We all go through life wanting it to get better and some expect it to happen with no effort put in, they want it to just happen or be given to them. There is nothing wrong with wanting and aiming for a better life, society, etc., at the end of the day though how are you going to add to making things better. One conscious decision to do one thing every day, once a week etc., to make the next day better will help this world and yourself be better. One random act of kindness to yourself or others makes a big difference for this world. On the Edge of Equality: Navigating the Toxic Backlash to Women’s Sovereignty

Why are women so often pitted against one another, and where did the scarcity mindset around female success originate? In this groundbreaking episode, Master Healer Megan Edge and her fabulous co-host, Dr. Pat, expose the systemic, historical, and cultural forces that sustain divisions among women. From the rise of online toxic masculinity and “The Manosphere” and the algorithmic grooming of young men to the criminalization of female solidarity dating back to the 16th century, Megan and Dr. Pat dissect how patriarchy has weaponized competition to keep women isolated. Megan and Dr. Pat will examine current cultural lightning rods—including the “Queen Bee” syndrome in the workplace, perfectionist double standards in politics, and the tightrope between fairness and inclusion in women’s sports and broader society, as the lines between male and female blur amid current societal changes. Finally, Megan opens the door to total empowerment, sharing practical strategies and ancestral healing tools to de-condition mistrust, disrupt zero-sum thinking, and build unapologetic, sacred alliances.
