Your Business Should Fund Your Life, Not Consume It

We were all sold the same lie: that the business is the goal, and your life is the stuff you squeeze into the cracks once you've "earned" it. Grow it, scale it, hit the next number — and never once stop to ask the only question that matters: for what? In this episode, I'm making the case that we've got it completely backwards. Your business was never supposed to be the destination. It was supposed to be the engine — the thing that funds and enables a life. And the moment it starts eating your life instead of funding it, it has failed at its one real job, no matter how much money it's making. I get into why so many of us left a 9-to-5 only to build ourselves a 24/7 with the worst boss we've ever had (spoiler: it's us), what actually became possible in my life once I stopped being the center of my business, and the one question to ask yourself if your work has quietly taken over your whole identity. In this episode: The lie the business-coaching world keeps selling — and the question nobody asks Why a business making great money can still be a failing business How "freedom" turns into a job you can never quit What my life looks like now that my business funds it instead of eating it The better question to ask than "how do I grow this?" A few lines from this one: "Your business was never the destination. It was the engine." "A business that's making great money and taking your whole life is not a successful business. It's a failing one." "You didn't quit having a boss. You became one." "The goal was never a bigger business. It was a bigger life."
