About the show
Welcome to the "Autistic Entrepreneur" podcast I'm your host Lee O'Carroll. I am an entrepreneur, husband, a dad to three teenage girls and to my baby girl, Emma, a beautiful golden labrador. I have also spent my life living with my close friend's depression, autism and social anxiety. I live in England, in a nice place called the Wirral, which is a peninsula that borders Liverpool, Cheshire and North Wales. I started this podcast so I could share my experiences of running several 7 and 8-figure businesses while at the same time trying to be a good dad and husband to my wife and three teenage girls - all the while dealing with my crazy, upside-down mind and somewhat challenging temperament, impatience, directness, sadness and a whole host of other shit that would constantly crave for attention. A critical element of this podcast is that it serves as a platform for OTHER PEOPLE to share their own life experiences, their unique perspectives and the professional and personal life lessons they’ve learned along the way. What’s discussed is generally focused on two areas, personal stuff and business stuff. Some professional stuff we talk about: What makes a good employer How to make the right career choices Coping with office politics & bullshit Dealing with bad managers & narcissism Identify good/toxic workplace culture How to start a business the right way Set & manage your own expectations Owning diversity & professional self-worth Create an amazing workplace culture Some personal stuff we talk about: Where the hell are you going & why What is my actual life purpose What is actually important in your life Why give a shit about other opinions How to own your self-worth & confidence Owning your uniqueness & difference How to be proud of you & your contribution What is the true value of money It is my genuine hope that people will benefit from this podcast. I know I'm not everyone's cup of tea and I'm OK with that. I'll likely offend some people or at least offend their thoughts. I can promise you it would never be my intention but it's nearly impossible not to offend someone for something these days. I'll also swear sometimes...well, maybe a bit more than that. I blame this on living and working in Ireland for 20 years. I love the Irish, they know how to communicate and to have the craic. They're good people. Thanks for listening / Watching.
