What The Theater Can Teach Us?
When I saw Water For Elephants I was intrigued by the level of trust and team spirit the Company had and wrote about it on LinkedIn. What can corporations learn from preparing a show to launch on Broadway? In this candid conversation Shana who has been working on the show since 2019 and Jesse a more recent addition talk about being brought together. Using the metaphor of an "arranged marriage". Forced to collaborate she from Circus and he from Dance they built mutual respect and trust which eventually turned into fluidity-each sharing ideas for the other. The take away for me as a business consultant has to do with "trickling down and rippling out" to other cast members. Their use of metaphors made complex corporate language simple for the Company to understand and build upon. This made for the extraordinary feats accomplished when you bring the circus to the Broadway stage. To learn more about Shana and Jesse, visit:WaterForElephantsthemusical.comTony Awards.comYou can reach Shana Carroll and Jesse Robb at:PolkandCo.comWayne@polkandco.comTo learn more, visit:https://www.bovaenterprises.com/Listen to more episodes on Mission Matters:https://missionmatters.com/author/rosemary-bova/
