About the show

What if the problem isn't that you need more time—but that you've been taught to think about time the wrong way? Welcome to REDEEM Her Time, the podcast for Christian women who are ready to stop striving, escape the pressure of always feeling behind, and discover a more biblical way to live, lead, and steward the time God has entrusted to them. Your theology of time shapes the way you steward your life. That's why every episode explores both the sacred and strategic sides of Time Stewardship. Because time is sacred, and stewardship is strategic. When we understand God's design for time, we stop trying to simply manage our calendars and begin faithfully stewarding every season He has entrusted to us. Whether you're building a business, leading your family, navigating midlife, serving in ministry, or discerning what's next, you'll find biblical encouragement, practical wisdom, and simple rhythms to help you live with greater peace, presence, purpose, and lasting impact. Hi, I'm Lissa, founder of REDEEM Her Time. For years, I believed the answer was better time management—better planners, better systems, and better productivity. I taught Christian women practical strategies to organize their schedules, manage competing priorities, and create more balance. But despite doing all the "right" things, I still found myself feeling rushed, distracted, and wondering why all my effort wasn't producing the fruit I longed for. God gently showed me that my greatest challenge wasn't my calendar. It was my understanding of time itself. That revelation transformed not only how I plan my days, but how I live my life. Now, instead of simply teaching Christian time management, I help women discover a biblical theology of time that transforms the way they steward every area of life, leadership, business, and calling. Each week we'll explore how to steward your time with both biblical wisdom and practical strategy so you can faithfully live out your calling without striving to do it all. Together we'll discover how to: • Build a biblical theology of time that changes the way you see every day. • Discern what it's time for in your current season. • Create sacred rhythms and strategic practices that align your calendar with your calling. • Faithfully steward your life, leadership, business, relationships, and resources with greater peace, presence, and purpose. • Bear lasting fruit by living in step with God's priorities instead of the world's pressure. If you've been searching for Christian time management, biblical productivity, time stewardship, business productivity, Christian business coaching, or practical ways to align your faith with your calendar, you'll discover a different approach here. Instead of simply managing your time, you'll learn how to faithfully steward the sacred gift of time through the lens of Scripture. You don't need more hours in your day. You need a redeemed perspective on the time you've already been given. Whether you've been listening for years or this is your very first episode, my prayer is the same—that you'll stop striving to manage every minute and instead embrace Sacred + Strategic Time Stewardship, experiencing greater peace, purpose, presence, and lasting fruit as you faithfully live the life God has entrusted to you. I'm so glad you're here. Let's redeem our time...together. NEXT STEP Continue the conversation on Substack, where you'll receive weekly podcast episodes, in-depth articles, biblical encouragement, and practical tools to help you faithfully steward your time, leadership, and calling. redeemhertime.com/substack lissafiggins.substack.com

439 | A Productive Day Isn't Always a Faithful One

You got a lot done yesterday.Answered the emails. Finished the project. Made dinner. Returned the call. Maybe even got the workout in.You crawled into bed thinking, That was a pretty productive day, if I do say so myself. But was it faithful?Because those aren’t necessarily the same thing. You can have an incredibly productive day AND yet completely miss what God entrusted to you in it.And you can have a day that looks terribly unproductive on paper—a conversation that took longer than expected, an interruption you didn’t plan for, a needed hour of rest—and be incredibly faithful. That’s the conversation we’re having this week on the REDEEM Her Time Podcast.Because I think we’ve gotten stewardship a little wrong.Sometimes we take all the productivity advice we’ve learned, add a Bible verse, pray over our planner...and call it Christian time stewardship. But stewardship has a completely different starting point:Productivity starts with my agenda. Stewardship starts with His assignment. In this episode, we’re talking about:* Why stewardship isn’t simply Christian productivity* What Matthew 25 reveals about the difference between an owner and a steward* Why what you believe about the Owner changes what you do with what He’s entrusted to you* Why your week doesn’t have to go perfectly to be lived faithfully* A simple Receive → Recognize → Respond rhythm to help you steward an ordinary TuesdayIf this conversation is helping you rethink your relationship with time, I’d love to keep going with you.Subscribe to REDEEM Her Time and I’ll send you the free REDEEM Her Time Starter Kit to help you begin laying out your day around the question:What is it time for?A Better Question for Your DayInstead of ending today asking:How much did I get done?Try asking:Where was I faithful with what God entrusted to me?That’s the measure we’re after. Not perfection.Faithfulness.And if you’re thinking, I don’t just want to understand this. I want to actually live this way, that’s exactly why I created the Stewardship Circle.Because change takes time. (Pun fully intended.)Inside the Circle, we’re practicing faithful stewardship together week after week and season after season—with biblical guidance, practical rhythms, and support for living this out when real life changes the plan.I’d especially invite you to join us as an annual member, because becoming a faithful steward isn’t something we accomplish in a month. It’s something God forms in us over time.Time is sacred. Stewardship is strategic. Get full access to REDEEM Her Time at lissafiggins.substack.com/subscribe

438 | The Reason Your Day Felt Off Started Before This Morning

Have you ever reached the end of the day and thought, “That wasn’t how I wanted today to feel”?Maybe you answered the emails, served your family, and checked everything off your list. And yet you still climbed into bed wondering where the time went.We usually blame time. “If I just had more.” “If life would slow down.” “If this week were different.”But what if that conversation didn’t begin with your calendar? What if it started much earlier than you realize? This week on the podcast, we’re continuing our conversation about time by going all the way back to the beginning, not to find a better planning system, but to discover what God intended when He created time itself.Inside This EpisodeIn today’s conversation, we’ll explore:* Why the Bible’s story of time begins before there were people, work, or calendars.* What Genesis 1 reveals about God’s purpose for creating time.* Why time isn’t your enemy, even if it sometimes feels that way.* What changed in Genesis 3 that affects how we experience every ordinary Tuesday.* One simple morning rhythm to help you begin receiving time as God’s good gift. This Week’s Sacred TruthOne sentence from Genesis has stayed with me all week.God called it good. Not just the light. Not just the land. Not just the living creatures. In fact, time itself, marked by evening and morning, the exact place where God put mankind, was part of God’s very good creation. That means time wasn’t created to pressure you, keep you behind, or become the enemy. Time was created as the place where God would meet with His people. So if time often feels like something working against us, perhaps the problem isn’t time itself. Perhaps it’s that something has changed the way we experience something God originally called good. That’s a very different place to begin. Because if God called time good, maybe we can begin receiving it as a gift again. This is just the beginning. Subscribe to receive each week’s podcast, companion reflection, and stewardship practice delivered to your inbox. This Week’s Stewardship PracticeTomorrow morning, before you reach for your phone, before you open your planner, before you begin working through your to-do list, pause. Thank God, not only for another day, but for time itself as one of His good gifts. Then simply ask, “Lord, what is it time for today?”As you listen, don’t just look for your next task. Look for Him.Because maybe the first purpose of today isn’t simply what you’ll accomplish, it’s who you’ll walk with.ReflectIf God called time good, how might that change the way you approach today?I’d love to hear what stood out to you from this week’s conversation…Keep Walking With MeThe podcast is where we begin the conversation. Each week here on REDEEM Her Time, we continue it with a companion reflection, one simple stewardship practice, and one question to help you move from hearing truth to faithfully living it.If you’re ready to stop chasing better time management and begin seeing time through the eyes of its Creator, I’d love for you to continue the journey with us.When you subscribe, I’ll also send you the REDEEM Her Time Starter Kit, including The Only 5 Time Blocks You Need to Stop Feeling Behind, to help you begin putting these ideas into practice right away.Time is sacred. 437 | What If You Already Have Enough Time?

What if you’ve been chasing the very thing God never asked you to pursue?Have you ever caught yourself thinking...* “I just need more time.”* “If I could finally get caught up...”* “Maybe next week will be different.”We’ve been taught the answer is better time management.A better planner.A better system.A better routine. But what if God never intended you to chase more time in the first place? What if He was inviting you to receive today’s time from His hand?In this week’s episode, we’re continuing our Theology of Time series by exploring one simple—but life-changing—shift:Stop searching for more time...and start seeking the One who gives it.Inside This EpisodeIn today’s conversation, we’ll explore:* Why Jesus never tells us to chase more time—but to seek first the Kingdom.* How the Lord’s Prayer completely changes the way we think about our “daily bread.”* What the Israelites gathering manna teaches us about receiving today’s time.* Why peace doesn’t come from controlling your calendar.* One simple morning practice that can reshape the way you begin every day. This Week’s Sacred TruthGod never promised tomorrow’s time today.Just as He faithfully provided daily bread in the wilderness, He faithfully provides today’s time. When we stop chasing more time and begin receiving today’s time as God’s gift, stewardship becomes an act of trust instead of striving.Because time is sacred...and stewardship is strategic. This Week’s Stewardship PracticeTomorrow morning...Before you reach for your phone. Before you open your planner.Pause.Receive today’s time as God’s gift before you begin planning how you’ll spend it.Then simply ask:“Lord, what is it time for today?”ReflectBefore you move on with your day, pause with this question:Where have you been chasing more time instead of receiving today’s time as God’s provision?I’d love to hear what stood out to you from today’s episode.I'd love to hear your answer in the comments. I read every one, and I'd love to continue the conversation with you there.Keep Walking With MeIf today’s episode resonated with you, don’t let the conversation end here.Every week inside REDEEM Her Time, I share a deeper reflection that builds on this week’s episode—along with a simple stewardship practice and one formation question to help you faithfully steward the time God has entrusted to you.I’d love to have you join us.Subscribe at RedeemHerTime.com/subscribeTime is sacred.Stewardship is strategic. 436 | Theology of Time 101: Why Your Calendar Reveals What You Believe

What do you do when your calendar changes unexpectedly…• Do you find yourself anxious when your plans fall apart?• Do you feel guilty when you don’t accomplish everything you hoped?• Do you immediately start trying to take back control? Most of us assume the answer is better planning, stronger routines, or more discipline. But what if the real issue isn’t your planner...What if it’s your theology of time?Because theology isn’t simply something we believe. It’s something we live. And because we live it, our theology quietly shapes how we think, choose, lead, rest, work, and steward every hour we’ve been given. In this foundational episode, we’re beginning a brand-new series: Theology of Time 101.Together, we'll discover why time isn't merely something to manage. It's a sacred gift from God—one we're invited to receive with gratitude and steward with wisdom.Inside This EpisodeIn today’s conversation, we’ll explore:* Why everyone already has a theology of time—even if you’ve never stopped to think about it.* Why your calendar reveals what you believe about time.* How the Busyness Lie quietly fuels anxiety, hurry, and the feeling of always being behind.* Why your theology of time shapes your methodology with time—and ultimately shapes who you become over time.* One simple question that can transform the way you approach every day:What is it time for?Sacred TruthTime is not merely a resource to optimize. It is a sacred gift entrusted to us by God.When our theology of time is shaped by Scripture, our stewardship becomes less about accomplishing more and more about faithfully responding to God’s invitation in each season.Because time is sacred......and stewardship is strategic.ReflectBefore you move on with your day, pause with this question:What belief about time has quietly been shaping the way you live—and is God inviting you to see it differently? This conversation doesn't end with the episode. Share your thoughts in the comments below—I read every one, and I'd love to hear what God is revealing to you as you rethink your theology of time.Continue the ConversationIf today’s episode resonated with you, I’d love to invite you to continue the conversation in Sacred + Strategic Time Stewardship on Substack. Each week you’ll receive companion articles, podcast episodes, biblical reflections, and practical tools to help you faithfully steward your time in light of God’s Word.If you’re ready to move from learning to living, I’d love to welcome you into the Stewardship Circle.Together, we’ll go deeper through monthly teachings, guided reflection, and practical implementation as you learn to faithfully steward every season.Time is sacred.
