One Grate Conversation’s inception came about when Lauxes Grates company CEO Tim Dawson saw the importance of recording our story for generations of present and future employees. What started out as an internal company resource has grown into something we are excited to share with a wider audience. In a world where there is a negative bias and scarcity mindset, we want to continue changing the world one grate conversation at a time.Through digestible conversations on influential and key topics featuring impactful guests, we will disseminate Lauxes Grates knowledge and insights to a wider audience and be the difference that we want to see in the world. This is how we continue our contribution to the community but this time on an external, international level.

The Obstacle is The Way: How Losing Everything Set Dr Dinesh Palipana Free

Welcome back to One Grate Conversation. Back in September 2023 we caught up with Dinesh Palipana OAM here in the studio and spoke about such important topics, the standout for us was "seeing problems as opportunities." Growing up in Sri Lanka where the opportunities were slim and he was exposed to war, violence and suffering from an early age he was able to harness these events that he experienced as a way of focusing on things that were in his control and that in and of itself is truly inspirational. To then have a car accident so devastating and life changing and come back from that stronger and more determined than ever, well that's just next level. Dinesh Palipana OAM is an Australian doctor, lawyer, scientist and disability advocate. He is the first quadriplegic medical intern in Queensland, Australia. He is the second person with quadriplegia to graduate as a doctor in Australia and the first with spinal cord injury. As a result of his injury and experiences, Dinesh has been an advocate for inclusion. Find the opportunity in everything - Gold Coast Titans

Welcome back to One Grate Conversation. We spoke with Aaron Booth from the Gold Coast Titans, which is a rugby league team here in Australia.He has been around the football culture and game for a long time, and recently his retirement was announced following a slew of injuries, his most recent being a serious knee injury in 2022 against the Melbourne Storm.This didn't stop him. If anything, it propelled him further into the world of footy and positioned him in a place of deeper team and community influence and connection.We covered so much and I am super grateful for Aaron being open and honest about his experiences, some of which I really am worlds apart from understanding what it would be like to walk in his shoes.It was a great conversation being able to be exposed to not only the experience but the insights that came from those events along the way.
