The LinkedIn Content Growth Formula
Posting more content on LinkedIn doesn’t automatically lead to more business. The real question is, does your content have a purpose? In this week’s podcast episode, I’m breaking down The LinkedIn Content Growth Formula and three principles that can completely change how you approach your content: Every post needs a job: Grow, Trust, or Sell. Specific content beats generic content. And relevance matters more than follower count. You don’t need the biggest audience on LinkedIn. You need the right people paying attention. LinkedIn's New AI Slop Feature
LinkedIn just added a button that every content creator needs to know about. It’s being called the “AI Slop” button. And it sends a pretty clear message about where LinkedIn is heading. Users can now click the three dots on a post and select “Seems like AI slop” when content feels generic, low-quality, or overly AI-generated. But there’s more happening behind the scenes.LinkedIn has also removed its generative “enhance your post” writing tool and replaced it with a simpler proofreader designed to preserve your natural voice. Reports of AI slop aren't necessarily causing posts to be immediately removed or accounts to be banned. Instead, those reports can help LinkedIn improve the systems it uses to identify low-quality AI content. And accounts repeatedly identified by those systems may begin seeing private indicators within their analytics. This is something I have been saying for a long time: AI isn't the problem. Losing your voice because of AI is. Use AI to brainstorm. Use it to organize your thoughts. Use it to improve your writing. Use it to save time. But don't let AI turn you into another person posting the same generic content everyone else is posting. LinkedIn is built around human connection, and your content should still sound like it came from a human. How To Turn LinkedIn Engagement Into Business Leads
A post can get thousands of views, hundreds of likes, and dozens of comments…and still produce zero business. Because likes aren’t leads. The engagement that matters is the engagement that starts conversations with the right people. Instead of obsessing over impressions, start paying attention to: • Conversations started from your content • Profile views from your ideal clients • Quality of comments • People saying, “I’ve been following your content” • Calls booked from LinkedIn Your content shouldn’t just make people stop scrolling. It should make the right people think, “This person understands exactly what I’m dealing with.”And when someone leaves a meaningful comment, don’t pitch them. Start a conversation. Before your next post, ask yourself: Does this give my ideal client a reason to engage with me? Likes create visibility. Conversations create opportunities. How High-Income Earners Can Legally Reduce Their Tax Bill by 25–50%
What if you could legally reduce your tax bill by 25–50% and put more of your hard-earned money toward building wealth? In this episode of Networking and Marketing Made Simple , I sit down with Ethan from Exponential Freedom to discuss how high-income earners and business owners can use strategic tax planning to keep more of what they earn. Ethan shares his journey from traditional financial advising into the world of tax optimization and explains why finding the right CPA or tax attorney should often come before choosing a financial advisor. We also explore how having the right team of financial, tax, and legal experts working together can completely change your approach to wealth building. During our conversation, Ethan breaks down several tax strategies, including energy credits and battery investment programs, that may help qualified individuals reduce current tax liabilities, potentially recover past tax payments, and create additional opportunities for tax-advantaged growth. Most importantly, this conversation is about being proactive rather than simply accepting your tax bill as something you cannot control. Ethan explains how Exponential Freedom approaches tax planning legally and ethically while helping clients uncover opportunities they may not have known existed. We also talk about Ethan's definition of success: creating the freedom to achieve what you truly want out of life. If you're a high-income earner, entrepreneur, or business owner looking for smarter ways to approach taxes and wealth creation, this is an episode you'll want to hear. How Coaches and Consultants Can Turn Their Connections Into Clients on LinkedIn
One of the biggest mistakes we see coaches and consultants make on LinkedIn is believing they need to post more often to generate more clients. The truth is, posting more is not always the answer. If your positioning isn't clear, creating more content amplifies confusion. Before you worry about the algorithm, your posting schedule, or how often you should show up, take a close look at your LinkedIn headline. Your headline appears everywhere. It's seen in search results, connection requests, comments, your content, and at the top of your profile. It is often the first impression someone has of you. The problem is that most people use their headline as a job title."Business Coach.""Marketing Consultant.""Executive Coach."Those titles tell people what you are. They don't tell people why they should work with you. Instead, your headline should communicate who you help, the result you create, and the problem you help them avoid. A simple framework is:I help [specific audience] achieve [specific result] without [specific frustration]. That small change immediately makes your profile more compelling and helps the right people recognize you as the expert they've been looking for. As important as your headline is, it's only the beginning. Your headline gets attention. Your content builds trust. When those two pieces work together, everything else becomes easier. The path to attracting more clients is simple: Clear positioning leads to consistent content. Consistent content creates visibility. Visibility builds trust. Trust starts conversations. Conversations become clients. If your LinkedIn isn't producing the opportunities you want, don't assume you need to post more. Start by making sure your positioning is clear enough that the right people immediately know who you help and why they should pay attention. If you're serious about attracting more visibility, credibility, and opportunities on LinkedIn, the first step is understanding where your profile stands today. That's exactly why we created my free LinkedIn Thought-Leadership Scorecard. In just a few minutes, you'll discover how well your headline, About section, Experience section, and overall profile positioning are working together. How To Build Go-To-Market Engines For B2B Companies
About James Hayden I’ve generated over $1B in revenue across SaaS, marketplaces, and enterprise services — and built first revenues for companies from zero across 140+ engagements. Book a Free 30-Min GTM Diagnostic → I build go-to-market engines for B2B companies that drive lasting revenue. Over 38 years, I’ve transformed sales teams, opened new markets, and created new revenue streams for more than 140 companies. I serve as a multi-company advisor to US enterprises, the government of New Zealand, and several Central American governments. My client and employer roster spans enterprise technology, SaaS, hospitality, automotive, and government sectors across four continents: Enterprise & Technology: Microsoft, Oracle, Cendant, TravelClick (acquired by Amadeus), Zipwhip (acquired by Twilio for $850M), Zumobi, Uniken, RESAAS, LodgIQ, Fingermark Automotive: Ford, GM, Stellantis, BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, Lexus, Kia Media & Partnerships: MSNBC, Starbucks Government & Trade: New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), Government of Costa Rica, Government of Guatemala Startups & Ventures: Hotelscan (successful exit), Ortega Expansion Consulting, Hayden Marketing Inc., Dignity For Divas When I took over TravelClick’s lowest-performing division, it ranked last out of four. Within a year, I turned it into the company’s top-performing unit — a turnaround that directly contributed to the company’s successful exit. If your sales org needs a reset, this is the kind of result I deliver. I was a founding member of Hotelscan, where I built over 140 partnerships from scratch. That groundwork drove the company to a successful exit in 2019. I know what it takes to build revenue from zero — because I’ve done it repeatedly. I learned to sell young — door-to-door as a kid — and never stopped refining the craft. My methodology is built on decades of real-world results, not theory. I wrote Adapt or DIE to share the approach that has driven my results, available in paperback, Kindle, and audiobook.
