About the show

Open Gate Creators is a podcast built for filmmakers, content creators, and camera nerds who care about the tools and the people behind them. We dive into camera tech, creator workflows, industry trends, and honest conversations about what actually makes the “perfect” setup, whether that’s LUMIX, Blackmagic, Nikon, Sony, or beyond. At its core, it’s about keeping the conversation open: open systems, open creativity, and open opportunities for creators to grow.

After Open Gate, What’s the Next Big Camera Feature?

Every camera brand is chasing the next big feature—but what do filmmakers actually need? Brandon Washington joins me for an honest conversation about where cameras go next: open gate, global shutter, built-in ND filters, compressed RAW, and AI. We also get into his favorite and least favorite LUMIX cameras, rising storage costs, and why a simpler workflow might matter more than better specs. What’s the ONE feature you want in your next camera? Let us know in the comments.
