Ep. 126: Why You Need a Money Plan Before You Make More Money

What if financial peace doesn't start when there's finally "more money"… but instead starts when you create a plan for the money you already have? In today's episode, I'm sharing why so many women continue feeling stressed & overwhelmed with money — even with a decent income — and how creating clarity BEFORE the raise, debt payoff, or bonus can completely shift the way you experience your finances. This conversation is a powerful reminder that peace doesn't come from reacting to money… it comes from being intentional with it. Inside this conversation, you'll hear: Why waiting for "more money" keeps women stuck in financial stress The very first step to creating a realistic money plan How clarity changes the way you make financial decisions Why vague goals like "I should save more" often don't create real change The difference between reacting to money & leading it intentionally A powerful client transformation story about moving from overwhelmed to confident & in control How faith, diligence & stewardship play a role in creating abundance Journaling prompts to help you define what you actually want your money to do for you   Scripture reference: Proverbs 21:5- The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty. Takeaway– Financial peace doesn't start when there's more money — it starts when you create clarity on what it is you truly want your money to do for you.   If this episode resonated with you & you're realizing you need clarity, simplicity & a plan that actually fits your real life… I would genuinely love to hear from you. 📩 Send me a DM on Instagram @jenpiala & tell me what area of your finances feels the messiest right now. Ep. 124: When Life Hits Unexpectedly Are Your Finances Ready? (Emergency Fund & Money Peace)

When you have an emergency fund a catastrophic situation can suddenly become a manageable inconvenience.  If you've been nervous because you don't have a financial cushion, let my story in this episode inspire you to hunker down to build your financial safety net. And honestly, you don't have to do a complete overhaul to start growing your savings account.  One small step (such as depositing $25 a paycheck) can make such a difference. In this episode of Living Your Abundant Life, I'm sharing a real-life story from the recent tornadoes in our neighborhood—and how having an emergency fund completely changed the experience.   You'll hear what I was thinking while in the basement in standing water and how I prayed when I didn't know what to say to God because I was too nervous to come up with words. Inside this conversation, you'll hear: The impact of having a savings How our savings account allowed us to focus on what truly matters Why allowing God in must be included in your action steps of money management How I prayed when I was too nervous to come up with words Scripture reference: Matthew 8:26– He replied, 'You of little faith, why are you so afraid?' Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves and it was completely clear.   Takeaway   Starting small is still starting. One small shift can create peace in moments you never expected.   Ready for clarity & control with your money? Ep. 123: Catastrophic Thinking & Money: How to Stop the Spiral & Take Your Thoughts Captive

Have you ever had something happen with your money… and even though you had it handled, your mind still spiraled into anxiety or worst-case scenario thinking? In this episode, I'm sharing a real client story of a $6,000 car repair that triggered fear—even though she had the money—and how we shifted out of that financial anxiety. I also share how I do this too, why our brains go to the worst-case scenario, and how to come back to truth. I had to constantly remind myself of this verse… that we are called to take our thoughts captive (from Bible, 2 Corinthians 10:5). Because not every thought we have is true. Inside this conversation, you'll hear: Why catastrophic thinking happens A real-life money spiral (even when things are "okay") How to interrupt negative thoughts with truth A simple exercise to bring you back to peace Scripture reference: 2 Corinthians 2:10:  We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.   Takeaway– Just because a thought feels true… doesn't mean it is. Ep. 122: You Don't Need a Perfect Budget—Just This One Cash Envelope Shift

If you've ever felt like you need to fix everything in your finances to finally feel in control… this episode is for you. Because sometimes just a shift in one category can create the momentum you need to work toward your financial goals. The truth is—you don't need a complicated budget to start making progress. In this episode, I'm sharing a simple strategy using a cash envelope system for just ONE area—like eating out, coffee, or Target runs—so you can create awareness, set a boundary & start making intentional decisions with your money. This is exactly what I'm walking a client through right now and the shift it's already creating is powerful. You don't need to fix everything today. Try focusing on just one thing. Inside this conversation, you'll hear: Why trying to fix your entire budget at once leads to overwhelm How to choose your ONE category to focus on in your finances How the cash envelope creates awareness instantly A real client example of cutting back on eating out Why boundaries—not discipline—create change I also shared part of my client's money journey and what happened when we ran the numbers on using this single cash envelope system for just one category. Scripture reference: Luke 16:10 "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much."   Takeaway– It's not about being deprived.  It's about being intentional with your money & making choices you won't regret later.   Ready to feel confident & in control of your finances? Ep. 121: My Most Downloaded Episode on Money Mindset (Why It Still Matters Today)

This conversation is simple… but powerful. Because the truth is—your thoughts are shaping your reality more than you may even realize. If you've ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, or like your money just isn't reflecting what you know you're capable of… this episode will open your eyes in a whole new way. Inside this conversation, you'll hear: • How your everyday thoughts are directly influencing your financial reality • Real-life examples of how shifting my thinking completely changed my day (and my results) • Why you can choose your thoughts—even when it doesn't feel easy • My top 3 simple tips to start creating an abundant money mindset today • How to become more intentional about what you allow into your mind (because it matters more than you think) "There's an economic theory out there that if you take the incomes of your five closest friends and average them, the resulting number will be pretty close to your own income. I think the same thing is true of our ideal incomes. You're only going to be as good as the stuff you surround yourself with." — Austin Kleon Scripture reference: Romans 12:2 – "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Takeaway— You don't need to overhaul your entire life overnight. But one small shift in your thinking today? That can start to change everything. Ready to feel confident & in control of your money?
