You’re Tired, Not Finished: How to Keep Going After 50

Feeling fed up with your business after 50? If you’re tired of pushing, waiting to be inspired and quietly wondering if it’s time to quit, relax. You’re not finished. You’re just tired. And those are two very different things. I’ve been feeling that way myself, which is why this is my first solo episode in a few weeks. What brought me back to the mic was a Facebook post a friend of mine shared from “Brad & The Goat.” The post featured memes of sheep offering mental health advice. I walk through each piece of advice and how it applies to your midlife business. It all relates to the V in my L.O.V.E. Method – Value Your Uniqueness. You’ll leave with small, doable ways to keep moving when motivation is gone and permission to rest without quitting. I also share a light language transmission to help clear away any stuck energy that may keep you feeling fed up. FYI – I had a short internet outage around the 25:00 mark when I started discussing the 7th piece of advice: “Look for tiny proof.” In this episode, you’ll discover: Why waiting to feel inspired can keep you stuck, and how making the day smaller gets you moving again. A simple 50-minute focus timer that makes a long to-do list feel doable instead of overwhelming. The difference between needing a minute and being finished, and why rest is not the same as quitting. How to stop comparing yourself to the “perfect” entrepreneurs online and value your own path. Why tiny proof of progress, like one email or one post, builds real momentum. The Cost of Refusing to Be an Elder

Have you ever considered how much it really costs to battle getting older? At age 65, Becky Bolt decided it was time to quit paying that price and embrace being an elder. I sat down with Becky to talk about the inspiration for her booklet, “Aging Gratefully” and the real difference between accepting the aging process and appreciating it. Becky shares the grocery store moment that changed how she saw aging, the real difference between accepting getting older and actually appreciating it, and why she prefers the word “elder” to “elderly.” Together we explore forgiveness as a form of freedom, grief as proof of love, and what it truly costs — emotionally, physically, and spiritually — to keep refusing the elder years instead of stepping into them. If you’ve been holding tightly to youth, to old grudges, or to grief you haven’t let breathe, this episode offers a gentler way through. In this episode, you’ll discover: Why resisting aging only drains your energy How practicing gratitude and service to others enriches the aging process Why it’s important to address your emotional trauma to age joyfully and peacefully How to embrace your role as an elder and share your wisdom Why forgiveness helps reclaim your own peace About My Guest: Becky Bolt is the author of the booklet “Aging Gratefully,” a guide to accepting, appreciating, and actually enjoying the process of getting older. After years of watching people battle aging rather than embrace it, Becky made a decision at 65 to trade that fight for peace, gratitude, and service, and she’s been sharing that perspective with anyone ready to listen ever since. You’re Not Losing Your Mind – You’re Just Aging

When you get into your 60s, forgetting someone’s name isn’t easy to laugh off anymore. It often brings up real fears of losing your mind due to Alzheimer’s. That’s why I’m happy to share this conversation with a dementia expert who explains the difference between normal aging and real cognitive decline. Behavioral specialist Lisa Skinner reveals the surprising list of treatable conditions that often get misdiagnosed as dementia. We also talk about what the newest research actually says about reducing your risk of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, why learning a new language or instrument genuinely protects your brain, and how to support a loved one who’s struggling with compassion instead of correction. This is a conversation about healing in midlife and how to trade vague fear for real information, and real information for peace of mind. In this episode, you’ll discover: The real difference between a “memory hiccup” and an actual warning sign of cognitive decline Treatable conditions — including thyroid imbalances, UTIs, and Lyme disease — that are routinely mistaken for Alzheimer’s What the 2024 Lancet Commission’s research means for your ability to lower your own dementia risk by up to 45% Why learning a new language or instrument does more for your brain than any puzzle app How to support a loved one showing signs of decline without arguing them out of their reality About Lisa Skinner Lisa Skinner is a behavioral specialist and certified dementia care trainer with more than 30 years of experience guiding families and caregivers through the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia. She is the two-time #1 bestselling author of “Not All Who Wander Need Be Lost and Truth” and “Lies & Alzheimer’s — Its Secret Faces.” Lisa also hosts both the Truth, Lies & Alzheimer’s podcast and television show, where she’s built a library of more than 165 episodes dedicated to replacing myths about dementia with accurate, compassionate information. Stop Rushing Your Healing: Lessons From a Reiki Master

Healing in midlife doesn’t need to be on anyone’s timeline but your own. Reiki master Tracy Searight joins us to discuss what happens when you stop rushing your recovery and learn how to harness the healing wisdom you already carry. After losing her sister suddenly in 2020, Tracy felt completely broken, unable to teach or trust her own voice. In this conversation, she explains how the energy modality of Reiki became the tool that helped her regulate grief, rebuild her confidence, and eventually start over completely at 50. We talk about the challenges of being an empty nester, moving cross country and starting a whole new business. And Tracy discusses why she believes so many women sabotage their own healing by comparing their recovery to everyone else’s. If you’ve ever felt like you’re “behind” on your own life, this conversation is for you. In this episode, you’ll discover: Why grief in midlife often shows up as sudden waves of overwhelm and simple ways to regulate your nervous system in the moment What Reiki actually is (and isn’t) — clearing up the biggest misconceptions before you try it How comparing your healing to someone else’s timeline quietly keeps you stuck Why trusting “your season” isn’t just a nice idea; it’s a practice you can build your confidence around About My Guest Tracy Searight is a Reiki master and teacher of multiple Reiki systems. She’s also the founder of Feather Sister, host of the Ready Set Reiki podcast, and co-host of the Laughing Lightworkers show on New Reality TV. After the sudden loss of her sister in 2020, Tracy stepped away from teaching, moved across the country, and rebuilt her life around energy healing. She now teaches Reiki, yoga, and sound healing to help others reconnect with their own inner wisdom. When Your Business No Longer Feels Like You

You started your business to build a life that felt like you. So, why does opening your laptop these days feel like clocking into someone else’s job? If you’re a midlife entrepreneur who built something meaningful, and it’s just not landing the way it used to, this episode is for you. I’m talking about what happens when a business you built with love stops feeling like an expression of who you are, and why that’s not a failure. It’s simply information. I’ll walk you through my signature L.O.V.E. Method as a lens for reassessing your business (and honestly, any area of your life), share the personal story behind why I know this territory so well, and lead you through a short light language session to help release what may be stuck in your energy field. I’ll also introduce you to the Life On Purpose Accelerator, a brand-new 30-day program for women ready to gain clarity and move into action. In this episode, you’ll discover: Why a once-successful business, marriage, or career can stop fulfilling you even when nothing has technically “gone wrong” How each pillar of the L.O.V.E. Method (Let Go and Let God, Open Your Heart to Receive, Value Your Uniqueness, Embrace Your Divinity) applies specifically to reassessing your business A live light language session to help release stuck energy and open the door to more clarity Simple daily practices like meditation and journaling that make room for the guidance already within you Resources & links mentioned: Life On Purpose Accelerator – a 30-day program built around the L.O.V.E. Your Music Is Still in You: A Nurse’s Bold Leap Into Art

If you’ve ever doubted whether you still had the “music in you,” to take a bold leap at midlife, this conversation with Edi Matsumoto offers proof that reinvention is possible. After 30 years as a nurse practitioner and disallusioned by the health care system, Edi traded in her stethoscope for a paintbrush. We talk about the moment she realized her calling had shifted, the leap of faith that led her to open her own gallery in California, and how a whimsical concept called “Otter Therapy” became a genuine source of joy and healing for thousands of people. In this episode, you’ll discover: Why burnout and disillusionment can be the universe’s way of pointing you toward your next chapter, not a sign that you’ve failed. How Edi found her niche by paying attention to what people genuinely responded to, not just what she thought she “should” be painting. Why the Japanese concept of ikigai offers a simple framework for midlife reinvention. How community, like Edi’s monthly “Carmel Bohemian Club” gathering, became essential fuel for staying the course when self-doubt crept in. About My Guest Edi Matsumoto spent nearly 30 years as a nurse practitioner before leaving healthcare in 2021 to become a full-time artist. She’s the creator of “Otter Therapy,” a series of whimsical fine art pieces that reimagine beloved paintings and portraits with sea otters. She’s also the owner of own gallery in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. Edi is the author of “Otter Therapy” and hosts a monthly community gathering for local artists called the Carmel Bohemian Club. Stop Pushing: How to Lead Your Business with Purpose

Working harder was never your plan. It just became the habit. If you’re a heart-centered woman over 50 running your own business, you know the drill: do it all yourself and keep pushing until it gets done. But that hustle, hyper-vigilent, worker-bee mentality is detrimental to your health and the health of your business. This week, I’m showing you why constant pushing blocks your intuition and caps your company’s growth. And I’ll share two simple practices to help you lead your business with purpose, instead of hustle. This episode speaks to the exhaustion of being a solopreneur, the guilt of stepping back, and the deeper question so many women in midlife ask in this season: Is this business still serving me? I share how the first pillar of my L.O.V.E. Method, Let Go and Let God, opens the door to a different way of leading. And you’ll experience a light language transmission designed to help release the enrgetic blocks keeping you in control mode. In this episode, you’ll discover: Why pushing harder in your business is the strategic bottleneck that keeps you working in your business instead of ON it A simple daily practice for reclaiming the power of the pause, even if it’s just 3 minutes Why it’s prudent to ask, “What is the most aligned move I can take now?” instead of chasing the most urgent one How the first pillar of the L.O.V.E. Method opens the door to receiving new levels of abundance. Midlife Isn’t Falling Apart. You’re Waking Up.

Feel like you’re falling apart in midlife? You’ve probably told yourself the fog, fatigue, and sudden tears you’re experiencing are signs that something’s wrong with you. Karen Herrera disagrees, saying they’re signs that something’s finally right. For women navigating perimenopause, empty-nesting, or simply the sense that they’ve outgrown a life that used to fit, this conversation offers a different lens on midlife. I sit down with Karen Herrera, author of Perimenopause Clarity, to discuss why the hormonal and emotional shifts of this season aren’t a malfunction; they’re an invitation to recalibrate around what actually matters. Karen shares her own perimenopause journey, the unexpected job loss that pushed her to finally write her book, and practical guidance on advocating for yourself medically, trusting your intuition, and rebuilding community after the kids leave home. You’ll walk away with permission to stop fearing this transition and start using it. In this episode, you’ll discover: Why midlife hormonal shifts can act as a catalyst for creative reconstruction instead of a crisis to survive How to tell the difference between a hormonal wave and a deeper question your higher self is asking you to sit with Why perimenopause can start far earlier than most women expect, and how to advocate for the right testing and support Simple ways to reconnect with what lit you up before career, kids, and other people’s expectations took over Why taking any small action beats waiting around for clarity to arrive on its own About My Guest Karen Herrera is the author of “Perimenopause Clarity,” a warm, witty guide born from her own search for answers during midlife upheaval. After being unexpectedly laid off from a corporate job, Karen turned a personal essay into the resource she wished she’d had — blending her own story with research-backed guidance on diet, herbs, adaptogens, and emotional and sexual wellness during perimenopause and menopause. The 3 Bottlenecks Every Midlife Entrepreneur Must Clear

You’ve got decades of wisdom and the drive to lead — so why does your business still eat every ounce of your energy? There’s a good chance you’re not failing. You’re just stuck. In this episode, I’m talking directly to conscious midlife entrepreneurs who know they’re built for more but keep bumping into the same ceiling. I walk through the three bottlenecks I see most often in my coaching practice: the Superwoman bottleneck, the Visibility bottleneck, and the Strategic bottleneck — and how each one keeps stuck energy trapped in a business instead of scaling it. I share a story from my coaching practice about a client who was afraid to fully value her true calling, plus a live light language clearing to help release whatever bottleneck you recognize in yourself. And I give you a simple audit assignment so you can pinpoint exactly where your own energy is getting hung up, right now. In this episode, you’ll discover: Why the “have to do it all” mindset, aka the Superwoman bottleneck, is one of the fastest ways to cap your business growth, and how delegating even a few hours a week can free you to generate far more revenue than you’d pay an assistant. How playing small to protect old relationships, otherwise known as the visibility bottleneck, can quietly keep you from the work, and the income, you were actually built for. Why holding onto processes that worked five years ago and resistance to tools like AI: the strategic bottleneck, can be the very thing capping your growth. A simple one-week energy audit you can start today to find exactly where your own bottleneck is hiding.
