About the show

Are you invisible online — and not sure how to change that? Raise Your Visibility Online is the podcast for business owners, consultants and professionals who want to get found, get known and get clients — using LinkedIn and AI tools together. Hosted by Louise Brogan — LinkedIn strategist, speaker, author and YouTube educator with over 109,000 subscribers — each episode gives you practical, no-nonsense guidance you can apply straight away. Some weeks we're talking LinkedIn. How to write a profile that attracts the right people. How to create content that starts real conversations. How to build a network that opens doors rather than fills your inbox with spam. Other weeks we're exploring AI and the tools that make all of this easier and faster. How to use AI to plan a webinar. How to repurpose your content without losing your voice. How to show up consistently without burning out. And a lot of the time, we're doing both — because the real opportunity right now is using AI as a tool to raise your visibility, build your authority and grow your business in a way that still feels like you. This is a teaching podcast. Louise shares what she knows, interviews real people getting real results, and gives you the kind of practical insight that used to cost thousands in a consultancy fee. No hype. No overnight success stories. Just clear, honest guidance from someone who has been helping B2B professionals build their presence online for over seven years. How to use LinkedIn Events

Stop thinking about event marketing as a one‑off — flip it to "marketing with events" and put your event at the centre of your ongoing strategy. I walk through why events are so valuable for B2B buying groups (multiple stakeholders, conflict in decision‑making) and how LinkedIn should be part of the conversation to build trust and keep those conversations going. Short video teasers — think 7–15 seconds with a killer first 3–5 seconds and a direct call to action — plus speaker clips, behind‑the‑scenes previews and thought‑leader ads make registrations far more likely. We cover timing (virtual two to three weeks, in‑person or hybrid months in advance, flagship three to six months), combining formats, and the importance of reaching people who registered but didn’t attend. Don’t measure success by attendance alone — track the right businesses, engagement, and whether the event moves revenue, and then repurpose every asset (presentations, clips, quotes, polls) so your content works for months. If you want help setting up or running LinkedIn events — we do this day in, day out — I’d love to chat (and yes, my conference in Belfast next October is on the calendar, so grab your ticket!). Takeaways: I changed how I think about events: stop treating them as one-off campaigns and integrate them into ongoing marketing. We use short videos—around seven to fifteen seconds—with a punchy opening three to five seconds to boost completion and conversions. I get speakers and executives to share perspectives, plus run mixed formats like video teasers, newsletters and ads to widen reach. I start promoting based on the event type: virtual events need two to three weeks, in-person events need at least three months notice. We don't measure success only by attendance; we look at whether we're reaching the right businesses, stakeholders and driving revenue. I repurpose event recordings into clips, quotes, follow-up podcasts and polls so that content keeps working for months afterwards.

LinkedIn Just Changed: 5 Updates You NEED to Know (2026)

Five Major LinkedIn Updates: Network Feed, AI Slop, Smarter Algorithm, AI Search, and Verification Louise Brogan outlines five significant LinkedIn updates and what they signal: LinkedIn wants more human behavior, genuine expertise, and real conversations. She explains LinkedIn’s test of a real-time “network feed” focused on actual connections; a crackdown on low-effort “AI slop” with new reporting tools and reduced distribution; an algorithm upgrade using advanced AI to better understand content meaning, limit engagement bait, and recommend posts to relevant audiences; the growing importance of AI-driven search (e.g., ChatGPT recommendations) and why clear profiles, consistent expertise, and discoverable content matter; and expanded verification features to strengthen trust, alongside broader credibility signals like recommendations and real work examples. She concludes that fundamentals still win: optimize your profile, engage your network, share useful insights, and be intentional on LinkedIn. 00:00 Five LinkedIn Updates 01:11 New Network Feed Test 04:04 Cracking Down on AI Slop 08:00 Smarter Algorithm Changes 12:09 AI Search and Discovery 14:36 Expanded Profile Verification 16:33 Wrap Up and Action Steps Work with Louise www.louisebrogan.com/inquiry

LinkedIn Thought Leader Ads Explained: How to Get Your Best Posts in Front of the Right People, with Kristian Downer

Think LinkedIn ads are only for big companies with big budgets? Not quite. In this episode, Louise is joined by Kristian Downer, founder of LinkedIn ads agency DowSocial, to break down Thought Leader Ads: what they are, what they cost, and how to use them without wasting your money on the wrong audience. Kristian shares the numbers from his own business, including what he spends each month and how he turns that into 50 to 70 webinar sign-ups a quarter. Louise shares the YouTube ads mistake that still has her channel stuck like a tractor in the mud. If you're already posting on LinkedIn and want the right people to see it, this one's for you. In this episode What a LinkedIn Thought Leader Ad is, and why "boosted post" isn't quite right Why you need a company page and a company ad account to run them How approval works when a brand wants to promote your personal post Which posts to put money behind (start with what already works organically) The minimum budget: £8 a day, around £240 a month Kristian's own set-up: £500 a month, plus a bigger push each quarter for his webinar How retargeting works for people who watch 25% of your video or engage with your post Using profile views, likes and comments as conversation starters How targeted you can get, and why too small an audience pushes your costs up The quantity surveyor example: cost per thousand impressions nearly doubled, cost per lead halved The "click boost and hope" mistake, and how to avoid it Why the lurkers on LinkedIn matter more than you think Timestamps 00:00 Intro and how Louise and Kristian work together 02:00 What is a Thought Leader Ad? 03:00 Company pages, ad accounts and approvals 06:00 What kind of post works best 07:00 How much does it cost? 09:30 Turning ad viewers into conversations 11:00 Targeting: how specific is too specific? 13:00 "LinkedIn should be free" and ads that don't feel like ads 17:00 Mistakes to avoid (including Louise's YouTube one) 20:00 Long buying windows and staying front of mind 21:30 What you'll learn in Kristian's workshop 23:00 Where to find Kristian Connect with Kristian LinkedIn: search Kristian Downer and add a note saying you heard him on the podcast Website: dowsocial.com Raise Your Visibility LIVE Kristian is running his Thought Leader Ads workshop in Belfast as part of Raise Your Visibility LIVE. Digging My Way From a High Street Shop to a Top‑3 UK Podcast — with Caroline O'Neill

Caroline O'Neill didn't know how to start a podcast. She found out, hit record, and The Digg Podcast went on to reach number three in the UK podcast chart. In this episode Caroline tells me how she went from occupational therapist to shop owner in Dungannon to podcaster and trainer. We talk about closing a business, getting over the fear of being the face of your brand, and why the hard work happens long before you press record. Caroline is joining us on stage at Raise Your Visibility LIVE in Belfast on 8 October, in a fireside chat with Claire McCollum. What we cover Why the business is called Digg (her dad drives a digger, and he backed her first shop) The pink flamingo Facebook Live that got 400+ shares and a queue outside the shop What she said when someone called her "desperate" for showing up online Closing Digg Childrenswear in 2020 and how the training business grew out of it Starting the podcast in 2021 with a borrowed microphone and a "just do five" brief Why adding real life conversations from series five lifted downloads and brand partnerships Showing up differently for different audiences: Digg for Success vs Digg Mama Why social media is the new TV, and why she'd rather own her channels Her DIGG framework: Discover, Involve, Give, Grow Why one wee video on Instagram is not a strategy Timestamps 00:00 Welcome and introducing Caroline 02:00 From occupational therapist to opening Digg Childrenswear 04:00 Learning online marketing the hard way 05:00 COVID, closing the shop and starting Digg for Success 06:30 Starting the podcast without a clue how 07:30 Louise's own retail shop story 10:00 Being the face of the brand, and the "desperate" comment 13:00 Finding the way of showing up that suits your brand 15:30 How Caroline plans the podcast and chooses guests 17:00 Bringing in real life episodes 19:00 In-person recording and making it a production 21:00 Social media is the new TV 22:00 Why every business needs a YouTube channel 24:30 The DIGG framework 30:00 What Caroline will cover on stage in Belfast 31:00 Reaching number three in the UK podcast chart Links Raise Your Visibility LIVE, Belfast, 7 and 8 October: https://louisebrogan.com/raise-live/ The Digg Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/digg-podcast/id1550452496 Caroline on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/carolineoneilldigg/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/diggforsuccess/ Takeaways: I learned that showing up online — even when you're 'desperate' — saved my business and filled the till the next day. We use the Dig method: discover your audience deeply, give them helpful content consistently, then grow your reach with purpose. I still swear by 'stop the scroll' creativity — a pink flamingo or a dramatic hook can turn social views into real footfall. We always tell people to do the hard work before hitting record: map personas, align emails and website, and plan strategic content. I discovered that blending business advice with honest, real‑life conversations elevated my podcast downloads and attracted sponsorships and partnerships. We believe YouTube and owning your channels is the new TV — be the face of your brand rather than a faceless polished advert. I admit I had huge imposter syndrome when I pivoted from retail to training and podcasting, but learning by doing changed everything. We warn that viral fame without a clear strategy will fizzle; always strip back to your values, audience problems, and measurable goals.

Is YouTube Worth It for Your Business? With Rob Malone, YouTube Ireland

Think YouTube is just for teenagers playing Minecraft? Think again. In this episode, Louise chats with Rob Malone, YouTube Ireland Ambassador , who works directly with Irish creators, brands and agencies to help them start, scale and monetise on YouTube. They cover why niche content wins, why brands end up with a "corporate graveyard" of unwatched videos, how to nail thumbnails and titles, which analytics actually matter, and how AI is changing things for creators. Rob also explains why you don't need to post every week. If you've been sitting on the fence about YouTube for your business, this one's for you. Key takeaways YouTube has room for every niche. If you can talk about your topic with passion, there's an audience for it, even if the topic is lobster pots or lawn mowing. Build a portfolio, not a viral hit. Your channel shows your expertise to potential clients before they ever speak to you. Be patient. Growth follows a "hockey stick" curve. A video with 50 views in week one can reach 30,000 a year later. Packaging matters. YouTube is a click-to-watch platform, so your thumbnail and title have to earn the click. Confirm the promise quickly. The first few seconds of your video should show viewers that it's what they clicked for. Put a face to the brand. Brands struggle on YouTube without a consistent person in their videos. Watch retention, not just views. Look at where people drop off and fix the opening first. Pick a concept you could film 10 times. Repeatable ideas, and enjoying the process, are what keep you going. Timestamps 00:00 Intro 01:00 What Rob actually does at YouTube 02:00 "Isn't YouTube just for teenagers?" Is Your Website Ready for AI Search? with Patricia Greene

AI is changing how people search for businesses online. So is your website actually ready for it? In this episode of Raise Your Visibility Online , I’m joined by Patricia Greene from The Web Crew to talk about what businesses need to rethink as more people turn to tools like ChatGPT for recommendations and answers. Patricia has been designing, developing and managing WordPress websites for around 25 years, so she has seen plenty of changes in the way businesses get found online. This time, we’re talking about the move from traditional Google search towards AI search and what that means for your website. We talk about why clarity matters more than ever, how to structure your website content so both people and AI can understand it, and why some of the things we learned years ago about good blogging and SEO are becoming important all over again. We also get into headings and page structure, FAQs, pricing, case studies, Google reviews and the role your LinkedIn profile plays alongside your website. Patricia also explains why simply producing hundreds of AI-written blog posts isn't a sensible content strategy. One of my favourite takeaways from this conversation is that you probably don't need to rebuild your entire website . Patricia recommends looking at the useful content you already have and restructuring it so that it's clearer and easier for both your customer and AI to understand. We cover: What AI search means for business websites Why keywords alone aren't enough anymore How H1, H2 and H3 headings help structure your content Whether you should update your old blog posts Why FAQs can help answer the questions your customers are actually asking The relationship between your website, LinkedIn and Google Business Profile Why reviews, testimonials and case studies matter Whether you should use AI to write blog content Common website mistakes Patricia is seeing in 2026 What Patricia will be teaching at Raise Your Visibility LIVE Patricia is also opening our Workshop Day at Raise Your Visibility LIVE in Belfast on Wednesday 7 October , with her practical session on Restructuring Your Website for AI Visibility . She'll be showing attendees what they can change themselves, what they may want to ask their web designer to change, what AI is looking for, and giving everyone practical action points to take back to their own website. Workshop Day also includes LinkedIn Thought Leader Ads with Kristian Downer, YouTube with Rob Malone, small-group masterminds and our Belfast walking photography tour before we head into the main Raise Your Visibility LIVE conference on 8 October. LinkedIn's New Network Tab (And Why I Unfollowed 50 People)

Louise shares the results of her 10-day LinkedIn video experiment (reach dropped, engagement didn't) and breaks down LinkedIn's new Network Tab — a feature that shows posts only from your 1st-degree connections, in real time. In this episode: Why Louise stopped her daily video posting experiment after 10 days The real numbers: impressions before vs after switching back to written/carousel posts Why B2B/brand video ≠ personal profile video on LinkedIn What the new Network Tab is and how to switch it on Why Louise has unfollowed ~50 people in 14 hours (and why that's a good thing) Building a "small but mighty" connected network vs. chasing reach Mentioned: Raise Your Visibility LIVE — 7–8 October, Belfast. Tickets rise to £275+VAT from 20 September (currently £225+VAT). Online ticket: £95+VAT. https://www.louisebrogan.com/raise-live YouTube: Raise Your Visibility Online — Network Tab demo video

Why Your Business Should Have a Podcast in 2026

Do you need a fancy studio, video cameras and a complicated setup to start a podcast? Absolutely not. In this episode of Raise Your Visibility Online , I’m sharing why I think podcasting is still one of the most powerful and underused marketing tools for business owners. I’ve been podcasting since 2017, and while the tools have changed, the basic process really hasn’t: sit down, record something useful, edit it and publish it. But the real opportunity goes far beyond simply building a podcast audience. A podcast gives you a reason to consistently share your expertise. It can help you build relationships with potential clients and collaborators, open doors to being a guest on other podcasts, grow your email list and create the raw material for the rest of your content marketing. And you don’t need to commit to publishing forever. A short six or eight-episode podcast series can be a brilliant way to demonstrate your expertise and introduce people to how you work. In this episode, I talk about: Why businesses are overcomplicating podcasting How a simple 10–15 minute weekly episode can build your audience Using interviews as an easy way to get started How podcasting can help you build relationships internationally Why being a guest on other podcasts can create even bigger opportunities Turning one podcast episode into LinkedIn posts, emails and other social content Using your podcast to grow your email list Why consistency matters more than having an elaborate production Creating a short “capsule podcast” instead of committing to a weekly show forever How podcasting fits into a simple, sustainable visibility strategy One podcast. A week of content. One of my favourite reasons for podcasting is how much content you can create from one recording. Record a useful 10–15 minute episode and you have the starting point for your LinkedIn content, social posts and email marketing for the week. Instead of constantly asking, “What am I going to post about?”, your podcast becomes the source material. Create once, publish everywhere. Raise Your Visibility LIVE This episode is sponsored by Raise Your Visibility LIVE , my inaugural conference taking place in Belfast on 7–8 October 2026 . We’re bringing together business owners, marketers and experts to explore practical ways to grow your visibility through LinkedIn, YouTube, podcasting, email marketing and AI. And if you can’t make it to Belfast, virtual tickets are available , including access to the talks and video recordings. I’d love to see you there. About Raise Your Visibility Online Raise Your Visibility Online is hosted by Louise Brogan, LinkedIn expert, speaker and CEO of Louise Brogan Ltd. Each week, Louise shares practical strategies and conversations designed to help business owners and B2B professionals become more visible, build their authority and reach more of the right people online.
