067 – Burnout Prevention & Cure – Interview Natalie Creasy

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing long time friend and ‘Burnout Bestie’ Natalie Creasy for my Leadership Mindset Podcast Show. Nat had her own experience of burnout in 2008 while she was a HR Manager that took her out for 18 months! On the show we talked about: – Nat’s own experiences of burnout and how she got there – Her journey of knowledge and expertise in yoga, meditation, neurology and the nervous system – Is burnout about prevention or cure? – How can we notice the signs of burnout – The most important things Nat advises people to do – The wonder of the pause – Warped thinking and internal chatter that can keep people on the path to burnout – How we help others when we see the signs of burnout (our people, our colleagues and our friends) Whether you feel you are struggling with signs of burnout or want to take care of yourself to avoid it, this episode is well worth a listen! 066 – The Challenges Of Ego – Dawn Wray

My latest podcast episode features an interview with Dawn Wray, who is the first person to appear twice on the Leadership Mindset Podcast Show! The previous episode featuring Dawn was episode 059. Dawn is a Gestalt Psychotherapist and co-founder of The Listening Collective. The Listening Collective provides coaching with a difference. The difference being that all coaches are trained psychotherapists. She also has a private therapeutic practice which she runs from home, or online. She has recently completed her psychotherapy training, but spent the first 30 years of her career in various Operational roles in Financial Services. Dawn believes that organisations grow and change, when their employees can grow and change. She has specific interest in how individuals create team and culture, and reciprocally how team and culture affect individuals, and how dialogue, relationship and embracing complexity are essential conditions to get unstuck and move forwards. She values real, honest and authentic conversations, and being human, no matter what situation we are in. Our intention with this episode is to make you more aware of how Ego can play out and hijack you. The more consciously aware you are, the better choices you can make for your self and others. Because, whatever your view on ego (and definition), it can be very toxic! It is one of the 5 mind-traps in my new book ‘Survival Psychology’ which you can find out more about here  On the episode we talked about: – The relationship between Ego and self identity – How does Ego can bring shame or a feeling of not being good enough – Thoughts on competition (and comparison) – How Ego has external behaviour or front, rather than expressing what is really going on underneath – How situation and organisational culture plays a part – The way we feel and what is logical aren’t the same thing and how Ego impacts this I find exploring ego and my relationship with this fascinating and I’m sure you do too. If so, this is an episode not to be missed! You can find out more about Dawn  here And the Listening Collective here  The post 066 – The Challenges Of Ego – Dawn Wray appeared first on Tony Brooks.
