Inside the IDA with Melissa Rossnagel

Host Levi Gates sits down with Melissa Rossnagel Melissa Says "My name is Melissa Rossnagel, owner of The Missus Interior Detailing. I was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where one of my first jobs was at a full-service car wash. After graduation, as much as I enjoyed it there, I realized I needed to move on. I told myself that if I ever started a business, it would be cleaning cars, something that seemed to calm me. Years passed and life happend, got married, acquired 3 step-sons, and moved to the beautiful little town of Riding Mountain. Then, 2 years ago, at the age of 40, and finally having the facility to make it happen, I started my business. The name "The Missus" was decided upon when my husband kept calling me "Missus" and I kept hearing "If you find yourself in a messy situation, just call The Missus" in the back of my mind. It's my side hustle at the moment; I work full time as a custodian at the school in our neighboring town. It's also not huge or fancy, and I'm kind of in the middle of nowhere, but it gets me by, and I have exceeded my expectations on the number of clientele within my community. I am limited to just interior detailing, as our shop just doesn't accommodate a wash bay, and I am currently sharing the space with my husband and our farming life. I am happy with that, as I also have a mobile set up, and travel to customer farms to clean farm and work equipment as well. I do hope to have a dedicated building one day, but I don't want to break the bank to get it. In the future, I would love to do some formal training. I have been searching for something that might fit in with a motorcycle trip this summer."

Inside the IDA with William Graves

Barry Theal sits down with William Graves, CEO and co-owner of Midwest Aircraft Detailers, a full-service aviation appearance company serving aircraft operators throughout the Midwest and beyond. William's road to aviation was anything but conventional. He spent years working as a professional chef, a career that instilled the discipline, precision, and composure under pressure that would later define his approach to business. He's also candid about his journey through addiction and recovery, an experience that shaped the resilience and no-excuses work ethic he brings to leadership today. That rare combination of kitchen-forged discipline and hard-won personal growth has helped him build Midwest Aircraft Detailers into a respected name in the industry. He's also the owner of AV8 Reactive Polymer Coating, a proprietary aircraft coating formula certified to both Boeing and Airbus standards, reflecting his drive to keep innovating within the detailing space. William is known for speaking his mind. He's not afraid to challenge industry norms, question inflated claims, or push back on practices that don't serve operators and customers well. Today, William is focused on evolving as a leader building out his team, sharpening his approach to growth, and staying grounded in the same honesty that's guided him from the kitchen to the hangar.

Inside the IDA with Conner Bates

Host Levi Gates sits down with another Idaho Native, Conner Bates, Owner of MVP Distributing. Conner says "I am an Idaho native and had a brief dive into car detailing while helping my brother with some small-time detailing when I was young. Immediately after high school, I began working as a first responder, where I worked for over a decade until I was medically retired in 2020. In July 2020, knowing my career as a first responder was coming to a close, I purchased MVP Distributing from Tom Smith. We have maintained what he started with, providing detail products to the dealerships and detail shops. We have since opened a retail store called MVP Detail Supply, where we represent The Rag Company as their local factory store. We also offer installation services for tint, PPF, and wrap. We now have a fully operational website that I am extremely proud of. We have had a ton of help along the way, and I have a special relationship with Levi Gates, as he has spent countless hours helping us along the way so we can be successful. Thank you, guys for the opportunity to join you on the podcast. "
